Min Yu glanced at Huo Yao, who had a gloomy expression on her face. It was as though she had turned into a different person. After some time, he comforted her. "Your grandmother will be fine."
"Uh huh," acknowledged Huo Yao softly. She lowered her eyelids, and her long eyelashes cast a faint shadow. She looked calm and did not seem worried at all.
Before long, the ward door was opened from inside.
Huo Yao raised her head and walked over unhurriedly.
The doctor removed his mask and looked at Huo Yao and Min Yu with a stern and stern look on his face. "The old lady is fine for now, but can't you kids control your temper? Don't you know that she has a weak heart and can't be provoked? "
Huo Yao's eyes flickered. She replied politely and humbly. "We got it. We will be more careful in the future."
Perhaps it was because Huo Yao was very polite and obedient, but the doctor was not in the mood to lecture her. He only reminded them. "Go in and keep her company. Don't provoke her again!"
"Okay." Huo Yao nodded slightly. She only walked into the ward after the doctor and nurse left.
The old lady was still unconscious. She lay there quietly with an oxygen mask over her mouth. The numbers on the machine beside her were jumping steadily.
Huo Yao glanced at the machine calmly before she casually pulled a chair over and sat down by the bed.
Huo Yao watched the old lady quietly for a while before she reached out and gently tucked her in. Finally, she held the old lady's hand by her side as though nothing had happened.
Min Yu also sat down on the chair. When he looked over, he only saw Huo Yao's side profile and did not notice her subtle movements.
Min Yu's phone vibrated in his pocket. He withdrew his gaze and slowly took out his phone. He glanced at the text on the screen before putting his phone back into his pocket.
About two minutes later, his phone vibrated again. This time, it was not a text. Someone was calling him.
Min Yu frowned. He glanced at Huo Yao before he stood up and walked out of the ward.
His footsteps were light and barely made a sound. Huo Yao only turned to look at the door when she heard the door close. She fell into deep thought for a second before looking away.
Before long, Min Yu returned to the ward. Huo Yao placed the old lady's hand under the blanket unhurriedly before she raised her head to look at Min Yu. She said softly, "Thank you for tonight. It's getting late, so you should go back and rest. I'll keep watch."
Min Yu raised his brow. "You are too polite."
Huo Yao leaned against the chair lazily. Her exquisite face was not as solemn as when she first came to the hospital. Instead, she looked more relaxed. "Not really. Don't you have something to do?"
She glanced at the phone in his hand, which was still in his pocket.
Min Yu was surprised by Huo Yao's sharp senses, but he did have something on. He paused before he said, "I might not be in City S for the next few days. Call me if you need anything."
"Sure," said Huo Yao as she waved her hand. It was obvious that she did not take it to heart.
Min Yu smiled and said, "I'm off."
Soon, only Huo Yao and the old lady were left in the ward. After the nurse on duty came to check on the old lady one last time, Huo Yao leaned against the bed to get some rest.
