Huo Tingrui's phone rang. He took it out and saw that it was his father calling. He carefully walked to the side in his slippers and answered the call.

Huo Yao suddenly sighed when she saw Huo Tingrui's behavior. She turned to look at Min Yu helplessly. "Sorry about that."

Min Yu cleared his throat with a look of understanding on his gentle face. "Your second older brother is actually... quite interesting."

"It's hard on you to speak up for him." Huo Yao glanced at him before she looked around and asked casually. "Where's your grandfather?"

"I sent him home," said Min Yu softly.

Huo Yao nodded.

"Old Mr. Pei called me a couple of days ago to tell me that you treated a patient for him." Min Yu's eyes were cold as though he was casually bringing up this topic.

Huo Yao turned her head and leaned against the sofa armrest. Her peach blossom eyes were indifferent as she said, "I didn't treat him for nothing."

Min Yu raised his brow at the thought of Huo Yao's money-grubbing nature. A few seconds later, he said, "Old Mr. Pei organized a dinner for you. It's at Flower Pavilion tomorrow afternoon. Are you going?"

Huo Yao frowned slightly. She contemplated for a moment and was about to say something when Huo Tingrui turned around after his phone call. He noticed that his little sister was getting too close to Huo Tingrui. His eyes darkened and he immediately walked over.

Huo Tingrui reached out to pull his little sister aside and stood in front of her defensively. "It's getting late. We should go home."

Huo Yao held her forehead and stopped talking.

Min Yu straightened his back and did not ask Huo Yao if she was going to the dinner tomorrow. He nodded politely at Huo Tingrui. "Sure."

Huo Tingrui scoffed in his heart when he saw Min Yu behaving like a gentleman again.

"You don't have to walk us out." Huo Tingrui raised his hand at Min Yu before he turned his head. "Let's go."

Then he grabbed Huo Yao's arm and led her out of the villa.

He did not even give her a chance to say goodbye.

After they left, Zhuo Yun, who had been pretending to be a housekeeper sweeping the floor, stopped mopping and walked over with a mop. He muttered to himself, "This second brother-in-law is not easy to deal with."

Min Yu recalled the expression on Huo Yao's face when he mentioned Old Mr. Pei's dinner. He could not help narrowing his eyes when he heard Zhuo Yun. "Brother-in-law?"

Zhuo Yun coughed. "Miss Huo's second older brother."

Min Yu glanced at him calmly and did not reply to him. Instead, he said, "Find out what happened to the patient Old Mr. Pei asked Miss Huo to treat."

Zhuo Yun was a little surprised to hear this, but when he saw his master's serious expression, he didn't ask any more questions. He made a sound of acknowledgment and went to work on this matter.

As soon as Huo Tingrui stepped out of the villa next door, he started lecturing Huo Yao like an older brother. "Yao, you shouldn't hang out with Min Yu in the future. I think he has ulterior motives."

As long as he thought about how that dog of a man pretended to be weak and small, he would be so angry that his teeth itched. Moreover, he even let his sister wear the same pair of lovers' slippers as him. His thinking was really too dirty.

His little sister was only 18 years old!

Huo Yao merely glanced at him expressionlessly. She did not reply to him and continued walking home.

Huo Tingrui touched his nose. Every time his little sister gave him this expression, he felt a little timid. Although he had a lot of things to say, he did not dare to say them.

His eyes landed on the two books in Huo Yao's arms.
