They lived up to their reputation as a family of medicinal cuisine.

Huo Yao veered her eyes away and suddenly thought of a problem. She turned to look at Min Yu and said solemnly, "Uh huh. Will I get kicked out if I don't bring any gifts?"

Min Yu was amused by the young lady's words. He shook his head and said, "Don't worry. Old Mr. Yi is not that particular."

Huo Yao touched the tip of her nose. Just as she was about to say something, Zhuo Yun walked over with two gift boxes in his hands after he parked the car. She instantly fell silent.

The Yi family's butler led them into the main hall respectfully. "Young Master Min, Old Mr. Yi is cooking in the kitchen. Please have some tea. He will be here soon."

Min Yu nodded politely.

The butler left before long.

Huo Yao sat on the mahogany chair and raised her head to look around. She nodded and praised the place. "What an interesting house."

Min Yu poured Huo Yao a cup of tea and gestured for her to drink. "Every family has its own history. The Yi family's ancestors were imperial medicinal chefs. Although times have changed, they still have an unshakable status in the city."

Huo Yao picked up the teacup and took a sip. She suddenly sighed. "It sounds like I missed a great opportunity."

Min Yu looked at her.

Huo Yao coughed dryly. "Nothing."

Not long after, Elder Yi, who was wearing an apron, walked in with a freshly made medicinal cuisine. Behind him was an energetic old man.

The old man was none other than Old Mr. Pei.

Old Mr. Yi placed the medicinal cuisine on the table and greeted Min Yu. Then he pointed at Huo Yao and said to Old Mr. Pei, "This is the talented young lady I mentioned to you."

He turned to look at Huo Yao with a smile. "This old man sells medicine. You can just call him Old Mr. Pei."

Huo Yao's eyes landed on Old Mr. Pei. Although he was introduced as a medicine seller, his aura did not seem to be that simple. She stood up and nodded politely. "Hello, Old Mr. Pei. I'm Huo Yao."

Old Mr. Pei stroked his white beard and nodded at Huo Yao rather kindly. "Hello."

Old Mr. Pei glanced at her before he turned to look at Min Yu. "Looks like you've been recovering well."

"Mhm, it has something to do with the medicine you made," said Min Yu slowly.

Old Mr. Pei smiled and shook his head.

"Don't just stand there. Try my new dish. The taste will change if it gets cold," said Old Mr. Yi as he looked at Huo Yao with sparkling eyes.

Huo Yao did not stand on ceremony. She picked up her chopsticks and put a piece into her mouth.

"How is it?" Elder Yi asked quickly.

It wasn't hard to hear the anticipation in his voice.

Old Mr. Pei glanced at Huo Yao in surprise. Very few people could impress Old Mr. Yi. This was the first time he was seeing someone like this at such a young age.

Could it be that he really understood pharmacology?

Huo Yao put down her chopsticks and raised her brow. "Tell me the truth?"

Elder Yi's lips twitched. "I hate being fooled."

Huo Yao nodded seriously. "Fine. It will be better if you add two ounces of Citrus Aurantium and one gram of Musk Dandelion, ground into powder."

"Hemlock and musk?" Elder Yi touched his chin and fell into deep thought.

"Uh huh," acknowledged Huo Yao. She picked up her chopsticks and started eating unhurriedly.
