Before long, Huo Xiang's van arrived. It was big enough for the few of them to fit inside.
Huo Yao got in first. Huo Tingrui and Tong Yu were putting their luggage in the trunk. Huo Xiang hesitated for a moment before he got in and sat down next to Huo Yao.
Huo Tingrui came back after putting their luggage in the trunk. When he saw that Huo Xiang had taken the seat next to his little sister, he instantly glared at him.
Pfft! What a schemer!
Huo Xiang rolled his eyes at him again. "???"
Tong Yu took in Huo Tingrui's expression. Then he glanced at Huo Xiang, who seemed to be in a daze, before he shook his head and got into the front passenger seat.
He was on his own now.
Before long, the car left the airport and headed for the Huo family's estate.
Huo Xiang removed his mask after he got in the car. He had always been cold and quiet. He had only interacted with his little sister once during dinner, so he had a good first impression of her.
He placed his hands on his knees and caressed them with his long fingers. From time to time, he would glance at his little sister from the corner of his eye. He wanted to speak to her but did not know what to say.
Huo Tingrui was not in the mood to chat with his little sister. He had been overseas for so many days, and there were a lot of things piling up at the company. He needed to sort them out first, so he kept texting his assistant.
Huo Yao sensed Huo Xiang's furtive gaze, so she lowered her eyes. She turned her head casually to look at Huo Xiang. Only then did she notice that he did not look well. He seemed to be a little sick.
Huo Yao frowned slightly. Her eyes inadvertently glanced at his hands on his knees. Although the needle hole on the back of his hand had faded, she could still see it.
Huo Yao contemplated for a few seconds before she asked casually. "Brother Xiang, have you been filming overseas lately?"
Huo Xiang looked at Huo Yao. Although he did not know how his little sister knew he was overseas, he guessed that Huo Tingrui must have mentioned it to her.
Before long, Huo Xiang composed himself and pursed his lips. A faint smile appeared on his cold face. It was a little stiff, but at least it made him look less unapproachable. He replied softly. "Uh huh."
Huo Yao's exquisite face remained impassive. She merely said, "You don't look well. Are you sick?"
Huo Xiang instinctively clenched his fists on his knees, and his expression instantly froze.
At this moment, Huo Tingrui interrupted from the back. "He must have been on the plane for more than 10 hours. He's exhausted."
Huo Xiang loosened his grip.
He didn't want his family to know about his body.
"Okay. Get some rest when you get home. Your health is the most important thing," said Huo Yao before she lowered her eyes and stopped probing. She seemed to believe him.
"Yes, Fourth Brother knows."
Huo Xiang replied hoarsely. Then he turned to look out of the car window. The street lights reflected off the glass bed, flickering between bright and dark.
About fifty minutes later, the car finally arrived at the residential area.
Tong Yu brought his luggage downstairs and left with his assistant.
Just as Huo Xiang reached out to pick up the suitcase, Huo Yao reached over and 'accidentally' grabbed his wrist. "Brother Xiang, let me do it."
Huo Xiang was stunned.
Huo Yao quickly let go of him. Her fingers landed on the handle of the suitcase and she took it from his hands without saying a word.
