Chapter 357

Report

Because of Ashrosfin's reminder, Lauren and the others didn't enter Bianca City but took a detour around the city.

The First Prince spent most of his time in the capital. At such a critical moment, he had to attract allies and divide his enemies in the political center.

Although the First Prince had bragged earlier, and the soldiers of Bianca City did pay attention to the queen's whereabouts, Bianca City had a large population, and they couldn't check everybody. More importantly, Roland and his companions had bypassed the city, which made it even less likely that the soldiers of Bianca City would know that the queen had passed by.

Then, the carriages passed two more cities, and Roland communicated with the chairmen of the Magic Towers of the two cities. He was quite lucky that the chairmen of the two Magic Towers were willing to communicate with each other.

Roland communicated with them for a couple of days and learned a lot.

So did the magic apprentices.

Communication took time, and so did the journey. It took the carriages almost a month before Roland and his companions reached Reed Village.

It was already evening, and the carriages were driving on the narrow dirt road. The trees on the two sides were bathed in the orange sunset.

Andonara seemed a little uneasy in the carriage.

That was probably what it felt like to be homesick.

Roland was still studying elven magic in his spare time. He was considering how to reduce the energy consumption of elven magic.

He had two options at this moment. One was to change the nodes of elven magic to reduce the energy consumption.

The other was to change the structure of his mental power.

Neither of them was simple.

In fact, there was a third option, which was to create alchemical items or magic equipment that could store elemental magic power and change the frequency of the magic power.

Unfortunately, Roland didn't know alchemy, and he had only learned a little about enchantment.

So, he could only abandon the third option and focus his attention on the first two options.

Also, the two options were both very likely to work.

When one was very focused, it was hard for them to sense the passage of time.

Roland had been devoted to magic since noon, and it had been six hours since then.

But his posture and expression remained the same for hours. If it weren't for the fact that his body was rocking along with the carriage and maintaining his center of gravity, outsiders would definitely think that he was a lifelike wax figure or an undead puppet.

The caravan stopped in front of a village.

The village was surrounded by a mossy wooden fence, and a dirt road led to the center of the village.

The wooden fence had a wooden gate. Seeing the caravan, a few children covered in dirt, with patched clothes, and snot running down their noses, pushed the wooden fence aside.

When the carriage entered the village, Andonara sat closer to the carriage and said, "Go straight, turn right at the first fork, and stop in front of the tallest and prettiest building in the village."

"Understood," the driver replied.

About ten minutes later, the convoy stopped in front of a white stone three-story building.

There was a wooden fence in front of the building. The fence was covered with green vines and flowers. The flowers were yellow and white, making the wooden fence look like a beautiful wall of plants.

Hearing the sound of the carriage, a rather handsome middle-aged man appeared on the second floor. Not long after, a boy about ten years old also appeared on the balcony. The two of them looked at the convoy downstairs with interest.

Andonara sat next to Roland, shook his arm, and said, "We've arrived at Reed."

Roland was woken up by the shake. He was stunned for a moment before he got off the carriage with Andonara.

Andonara, who jumped off the carriage, looked up and saw the middle-aged man and the boy on the balcony. She smiled and waved at them.

The middle-aged man was slightly surprised to see her, but he quickly disappeared from the balcony with the boy.

Very soon, the two of them walked out of the building and opened the gate. The middle-aged man approached them and looked at Andonara and Roland with a weird expression.

He didn't say anything.

But the ten-year-old boy ran to Andonara and said excitedly, "Cousin, you're finally back. How long are you staying? "

The boy was also very handsome. Andonara touched his head and said with a smile, "At least four or five more days."

Then, Andonara raised her eyes and looked at the handsome middle-aged man who stood like a pine tree with his hands behind his back. She said, "Uncle, I'm back."

"I saw you." The middle-aged man looked at Roland and said, "Anna, aren't you going to introduce your friend?"

Andonara's nickname among her family was Anna.

The middle-aged man had been observing Roland. The more he observed, the more shocked he was.

He was a compound class, similar to a Magic Swordsman. He could cast spells, so he had a good sense of mental power.

Andonara, on the other hand, was a Great Swordsman, a pure physical class. She couldn't sense mental power.

So, the middle-aged man could sense the astonishing magic power in Roland.

"This is the man I chose, Roland." Andonara seemed rather shy as she introduced them. "Roland, this is my uncle, Cage Reed."

"Greetings, Mr. Reed."

Roland slightly bowed. Since he was Andonara's senior, he had to show the necessary courtesy.

"Greetings, Mr. Roland." Cage observed Roland again with a weird expression, as if he had a lot of questions to ask. But in the end, he simply smiled and said, "Nice to meet you too."

At this moment, the boy jumped to his feet and shouted angrily, "You haven't introduced me yet!"

Andonara patted the boy's head and said, "This is my cousin, Kaido Reed."

Roland smiled at the boy. "Greetings, Little Reed."

"You're dressed like a Mage?" Kaido walked to Roland and looked at him in admiration. He asked in the innocent tone of a child, "Big Brother Roland, can you teach me magic?"

"Sure, as long as you want to learn it," replied Roland.

Cage shook his head and said, "Sir, don't bother with Kaido. He can't learn magic. Or rather, none of our family can learn elemental magic."

"Why?" Roland was slightly confused. He could sense that both Cage and Kaido, who was only ten years old, had powerful magic power inside their bodies, which was enough for them to cast level-two spells.

"It seems to be caused by our bloodline," said Cage with a smile.

"The Hero bloodline?" asked Roland subconsciously.

At this moment, Cage, however, frowned and looked at Andonara, as if he were blaming her.

Naturally, Roland noticed the look on his face. He said, "Andonara didn't tell me. Someone else told me."

Cage pressed, "Who was it?"

"Antis."

Cage was silent for a moment. He naturally knew who Antis was.

He was a noble too. Although he wasn't of a high rank, he occasionally stayed in the capital and met Antis when he was young.

As a relative of the royal family, Antis grew up with Andonara. He had thought that the two equally beautiful girls would be a couple, but it turned out that Andonara wasn't even interested in Antis.

At this moment, Vivian and the other magic apprentices got out of the car. Knowing that they were all nobles, Cage greeted them with a smile. "Welcome to my place. Please come in."

With that, he stepped aside from the wooden fence and gestured for them to enter.

Then, a middle-aged butler came out of the building and led everybody into the room.

The moment they entered the room, they saw an enormous mural on the wall of the main hall.

A Hero, wearing white armor and holding a longsword of blue flames and a shield with a phoenix as the background, was stepping on an enormous red demon who had bull horns and was about to stab him to death.

All the guests were attracted by the mural.

Seeing this, Cage smiled smugly.

Andonara looked relaxed as if she had just returned home. She looked around and asked, "Has my father been back recently?"

"He went to Urganda with a caravan," said Cage as he invited everybody to sit down. "It happened three months ago."

"You sit down first. I'll prepare dinner for you." With that, Andonara went upstairs and soon came down in regular clothes with two maids behind her. After the change, she seemed to be more virtuous than a wife. "Roland, what would you like to eat?"

"Anything!"

"Anything" was the hardest word. Andonara rolled her eyes at Roland and went to the kitchen with the two maids.

Roland, on the other hand, introduced Vivian and the others to Cage.

Hearing that they were traveling magic apprentices, Cage sat at the host's seat and said with nostalgia, "I was a mercenary for years when I was young. My life during that time still haunts my dreams now and then."

"So, you were a mercenary too," said Vivian in surprise. Vivian said in surprise, "Andonara used to be a mercenary too. So, she learned it from you."

Cage stroked his stubble rather proudly. "I taught her all her sword arts, although she's almost stronger than me right now."

Roland had vaguely guessed that Andonara's sword arts must've been taught by the man the moment he met her.

After all, Andonara had said that her father was a minor noble and a merchant. He traveled everywhere as an adult, and every time before he went on a business trip, he would put the young Andonara in his brother's house, which was in Reed Village.

So, Reed Village was Andonara's second home.

Cage chatted with them warmly for a while, and when the butler came down, the Lord asked the butler to take the six magic apprentices to a few rooms that had been cleaned for them to rest. At the same time, he crooked his finger at Roland.

Roland followed him to the balcony of the living room on the third floor.

Looking at the low cottage in the village far away, Cage asked slowly, "What's going on between you and Anna? Why is she with you as a queen?"
