Devil's Law
Chapter 1 "Idiot"
In fact, when Du Wei Rollin was born, no one dared to call him an idiot. He was even considered to be the genius of the Rowling family.
Three years ago, when Du Wei came out of the Countess's womb and came to this world, he gave the maids in charge of delivering the baby a great shock.
Because he didn't cry or shout, he didn't even need adults to coax him. His life was more normal than an adult's. Every day, he would wake up at the appointed time, eat at the appointed time, and sleep at the appointed time. But every day, other than opening his mouth to eat, this child's mouth almost didn't make any sound. The only thing he did every day was to stare blankly … … staring blankly.
He didn't even have a record of wetting the bed. This was because he learned to gently shake the bell beside the cradle. After a long time, every time Master Du Wei's cradle rang, the maid would immediately run to bring him a basin to pee. This kind of action made the whole family praise this young master for being so smart from a young age. In the future, he would definitely be the genius of the Rowling family.
Unfortunately, the word "genius" hung on his head for less than half a year before it lost its luster … … because, he couldn't speak.
Children of the same age as him, at his age, would already be able to babble or make simple sounds, such as "daddy, mommy, pee pee" and so on. But Master Du Wei's mouth seemed to have been sealed by a great magician. No matter how the Countess taught him to speak until his mouth was dry, he couldn't make a single sound.
Even if he was born mute, he could at least make a sound. But this young master was silent like a stone. When he was cold, hot, hungry, or needed to pee, he would only shake the bell.
By the time he was three years old, the young master had yet to open his golden mouth. The Countess had invited countless brilliant doctors and even a few famous magicians to see if her son had been cursed by some kind of magic, but it was all to no avail. In the end, even the most optimistic Countess couldn't help but sigh sadly. It seemed that her son was an idiot.
Fortunately, the three-year-old Master Du Wei had learned how to walk. Although he was still staggering, he was no different from other children of the same age.
He was just a child who didn't know how to cry, laugh, or speak. All he did was stare blankly all day long. Other than being an idiot, there was really no other explanation.
A month ago, there was a sudden storm. Thunder roared and lightning flashed in the sky. Rain poured down like a torrential downpour. Even the Grand Canal outside the Imperial Capital was said to have almost burst. However, something big happened in the Count's residence.
Young Master Du Wei actually climbed out of the room when the maid who was taking care of him wasn't paying attention. He stood in the courtyard in the rain and looked up at the sky. Despite the flashes of lightning and the rumbling of thunder in the sky, the child didn't seem to be afraid at all. Perhaps he was an idiot and didn't know what fear was.
Instead, he clenched his two small fists and suddenly shouted at the sky!
The young master who hadn't opened his mouth for three years just stood in the rain and shouted crazily at the flashes of lightning, letting the rain wash over his small body. When the servants found out, he was shivering from head to toe, as if he had just been fished out of the water. His face was pale and his lips were purple from biting.
The Countess who rushed over after hearing the news saw this scene and immediately fainted. The servants in the residence hurriedly carried the young master and the Countess into the room. The Countess woke up quickly and hugged her son who had already fainted, crying bitterly. The doctors who were called panicked and worked for half a day to feed him all kinds of medicine. They also invited two magicians to keep watch over his son with light healing spells for a long time.
But the child's body still gradually became cold. Immediately, the Countess ran to the Shrines of the Goddess of Light in the imperial capital as if she had gone crazy. She invited a black-clothed bishop to personally cast the Goddess of Light's blessing spell on the child. The Countess knelt in front of the statue of the Goddess of Light in the Shrines of the Goddess of Light for an entire night, praying for her son non-stop.
On the second day, the child's body finally warmed up and his life was saved. But he was unconscious for another day and night. When he was unconscious, the Countess almost didn't eat or sleep as she hugged her son. Two days later, the Countess' delicate face had become very haggard. Suddenly, the Master Du Wei opened his mouth in his sleep. He closed his eyes, but as if he was sleep-talking, a few syllables jumped out of his mouth. But after listening for a long time, no one understood the meaning of this voice. It seemed that this idiot young master hadn't learned to speak yet and was speaking meaningless babbles of a baby.
But the Countess was so happy that she cried. After listening for a long time by the child's side, she finally understood a little bit. Looking back at the group of servants who were silent like cicadas in winter, she whispered, "Among the servants who usually take care of the young master, is there a person called Mard?"
Everyone looked at each other for a long time. Finally, there was a bold person who stood up and bowed, "Madam, it seems that among the people who take care of the young master's daily life, there isn't a person called Mard …"
Then they searched the entire Count's residence and found a servant called Mard in the stables who was responsible for feeding the horses. He was immediately summoned to the front of the Countess.
"My son is calling out your names in his sleep … Mard … Although I don't know why he's calling out your name, I think it's a sign from the Goddess of Light. Goddess bless, from today onwards, you don't have to feed the horses anymore. You can be transferred to the young master's side."
Mard was immediately overjoyed. He suddenly jumped from the lowest level of coachman to the young master's side in the Count's residence. It was as if he could see a bright future waving at him!
Only, Du Wei didn't know in his sleep that in a moment of anger, he ran outside and yelled at the heavens a few times. After being drenched in the rain, he almost lost his life. He also didn't know that just because he cursed a few times when he was unconscious, there was a person who benefited greatly from it.
Little Master Du Wei's illness lasted for a full month. His originally young body became weaker and weaker, but after a full month, his little face regained a bit of color.
Only, as always, this young master still didn't speak. Ever since he woke up, he didn't spit out half a word from his mouth. Even the servant called "Mard" that he "personally appointed" in his sleep, the young master didn't give him any face. Every day, other than being in a daze, he was still in a daze. The only difference was that when the maid by his side occasionally talked about his serious illness, the Countess had once held him for two days and two nights without rest. She had also once knelt in front of the goddess' statue for an entire night …
After that, when the Countess came to visit her son every day, she found that this child's originally wooden eyes had a trace of warmth when he looked at her.
