Chapter 395

Yu Hua City was the largest city in Yu Hua State, and it was also the only city.

The city was not big, only two to three miles in circumference and had a population of a few thousand.

After entering the city gate, there was a long and narrow passageway.

There were huge claw marks on both sides of the tunnel.

It was a claw print left behind by a Great Demon.

It proved that this city was under his protection.

Mei Qing felt the terrifying pressure coming from the claw marks on the wall.

She ducked her head and hurried through the tunnel.

Because the owner of this claw mark had never had a good temper.

That was a Great Saint!

Furthermore, it was the infamous Yellow-Browed Great Sage!

Hundreds of years ago, the master and his three disciples had died at the hands of this Great Sage.

His fierce reputation had spread far and wide!

Therefore, Mei Qing didn't even dare to look. At the end of the tunnel, she took out a handful of jade coins and threw them into the mouth of a copper lion.

The lion swallowed the jade coin, opened its eyes, looked at Mei Qing, and burped. "Go in!"

A stone door was lifted, and the inner city of Yu Hua City appeared in Mei Qing's eyes.

This was the current situation of the Aparagodānīya.

Ever since the four of them returned to the east, they spread the evil scripture to everyone in the five major states.

The blood and tears of the gods and buddhas fell from the sky.

The human world became the playground of the Great Demons.

The Lion Camel Ridge was a living hell.

The Eastern Lands were thrown into chaos by the fiends.

The Great Devil An Lushan became a disciple of that Tang Seng, cultivated evil magic, and led beasts to eat people.

Thousands of miles of mountains and rivers were already purgatory on earth.

As for the other regions, they could only fend for themselves.

For example, Yuhua State was considered lucky. The king married his daughter to Lord Qinghe, the trusted aide of Little Thunder Temple's Yellow-Browed Great Sage.

Thanks to this relationship, he was finally able to obtain the favor of the Yellow-Browed Great Sage.

He wanted to leave his claws and footprints in Yu Hua City.

Relying on the Yellow-Browed Great Sage's prestige, no one dared to invade, and the city was peaceful.

Of course, there was a price to pay.

Yu Hua City needed to worship the Yellow-Browed Great Sage at all times.

On top of that, he would also have to pay a small amount of offerings at regular intervals.

Every time someone entered and left, they would have to pay fifty Jade money as a city tax.

This was already a very good result!

In many places, many people couldn't get such protection even if they wanted to!

He had sought the protection of a Great Demon.

However, the Great Demon had a cruel nature and would often demand blood offerings from humans.

Virgin boys and virgin girls, no matter the seasons!

If there was even the slightest bit of disobedience, the protection would be withdrawn.

Then, demons wreaked havoc and the country was destroyed!

A Great Sage like the Yellow-Browed Great Sage, who only needed to spend money to get rid of disasters, was truly a Bodhisattva in this era!

After entering the inner city, Mei Qing went straight to the home she had lived in for more than ten years.

It was a small Daoist temple in the southern part of Yu Hua City.

When she reached the entrance of the Taoist temple, Mei Qing was stunned.

This was because the leaves on the old locust tree at the entrance of the Daoist temple had all fallen off.

This was unprecedented.

In her memory, Mei Qing remembered that the locust tree at the door was lush no matter the four seasons.

But now, not only were the leaves falling off, even the branches were withering.

She felt uneasy and hurriedly pushed open the door.

"Teacher!" she shouted.

No answer.

The uneasiness in her heart intensified, and she hurriedly walked into the Taoist temple.

The Taoist temple was very small, and there were only three rooms.

The largest was the main hall where the Three Pure Ones were enshrined, then the side hall where the ancestors were enshrined, and the last was a small hut where Mei Qing and her disciple depended on each other.

Mei Qing looked at the simple hut made of rammed earth and thatch.

The wooden door of the hut was directly open.

She went over and saw a haggard old Taoist nun sitting cross-legged on a meditation cushion on the ground inside the hut.

The Taoist nun looked at Mei Qing, and a smile finally appeared on her thin face. "Qing 'er!"

Mei Qing looked at her, and the tears in her eyes could no longer be stopped.

"Teacher!" She knelt down with a plop.

"Good child!" The old Taoist nun said, "Don't cry!"

"It's a happy occasion for me to return to the True Path today …"

The old Taoist nun's body was surrounded by the aura of death, and the black fog was heavy.

It was obvious that she was at the end of her rope and was powerless to reverse the situation.

Mei Qing took out the gourd and the crucian carp wrapped in red cloth on her body and said, "Teacher, quickly drink some water and eat these fish …"

"You will definitely recover!"

The old Taoist nun glanced at the gourd that Mei Qing handed to her.

The clear water in the gourd rippled and had a lingering spiritual charm. It was obvious that it was clear water condensed from high-quality immortal dew.

She looked at the crucian carps again.

They were alive and kicking, and they contained immortal spirit energy. They were rare high-grade ones!

Unfortunately …

She shook her head and sighed, "I was injured by the spider demon a month ago. Now, the poison has already invaded my soul. There's no cure!"

Mei Qing naturally knew this.

But how could she be willing?

She thought about how her teacher had endured hardships to raise her up all these years.

She also thought about her teacher's kindness over the years.

She immediately burst into tears. "No! There must be a way … "

Now, the Three Realms had been overturned, the gods and Buddhas had all died, and the Underworld had long been in chaos. The Six Paths of Reincarnation no longer existed.

Therefore, after the death of the predecessors, they could still hope for the afterlife.

But now, after death, they were destined to fall into the tiger's mouth!

Those evil ghosts and malicious spirits were in the Underworld, waiting for the souls to fall.

Once a living soul fell, it would immediately be snatched away by those ghost kings.

They would either be devoured by them or sold as commodities by these ghost kings.

They would either be worked as laborers or slaves.

They would even become consumables for cultivation, raw materials for refining magic artifacts and pills.

Therefore, all living beings in the world, as long as they had some ability, were unwilling to fall into the Underworld after death.

When he was alive, the Mausoleum of Cultivation had prepared all kinds of formations and talismans.

Before he died, he would enter the main mausoleum.

He would form his own Yin Earth underground and establish his own territory!

Therefore, Mei Qing naturally didn't want her teacher to return to nature and fall into the hands of those ghost kings and Asuras.

"Child..." the old Daoist nun smiled, "You don't have to worry..."

"I'm a disciple of the Three Pure Ones. The people of the Underworld have to give me some face!"

Now, the gods and Buddhas were dead, and it was said that even the Heavenly Courts had been defeated by the Great Sages.

But interestingly, whether it was the demons or the ghost kings of the Underworld, they would give the Daoists some face.

No one knew why?

Even the Tusita Heaven had been destroyed by that monkey, and the Grand Supreme Elder's Eight Trigrams Furnace had been kicked over.

However, the influence of the Daoists was still everywhere.

The Daoists could still draw talismans to invite the gods.

But...

How could Mei Qing be willing to place her hopes on her teacher being lucky enough to meet a ghost king who was kind to the Daoists and let her reincarnate?

She remembered something.

She grabbed her teacher's hand and said, "Teacher..."

"I have an idea!"

She took out the booklet, the booklet given to her by the owner of the bookstore in the fog.

"Skyless Buddha..." she faced the western sky and kowtowed. "Disciple Mei Qing earnestly asks Buddha to lower the curtain and protect my teacher..."

"If Buddha has mercy and promises..." she remembered the legendary Skyless Buddha who had tampered with the Buddhist scriptures that had been passed down to the four of them. She swore, "In this life, disciple is willing to be driven by Buddha..."

Legend had it that Skyless Buddha advocated equivalent exchange. He once said, "A tooth for a tooth, blood for blood." The supreme principle of heaven and earth, the nature of things!

But she had nothing. She only had this body and life.

She could only use herself to exchange for her teacher's protection in the netherworld!

The old Daoist nun looked at Mei Qing and shook her head.

From her point of view, Mei Qing's hand was completely empty.

Therefore, she shook her head and sighed. "Silly child... how can there be any Skyless Buddha? It's just a legend... "

But...

As soon as she finished speaking, black lotus flowers bloomed in the entire courtyard.

Evil Sanskrit chants sounded.

Thud thud thud!

The wooden fish made a sound.

A black lotus flower landed on the old Daoist nun's forehead and quickly merged into her soul.

When Mei Qing saw this, she cried tears of joy and kowtowed repeatedly. "Disciple thanks Buddha for his great kindness. Disciple thanks Buddha for his great kindness!"

… …

The 33rd Heaven.

In the ruined Tusita Heaven.

Suddenly...

The Tusita Heaven that had been smashed and shattered was bursting with spiritual light and the music of immortals was endless.

A Taiji diagram appeared in the clouds.

"Eh!" The Grand Supreme Elder, who was sitting on the meditation cushion, opened his eyes.

"Fellow Daoist, you still haven't given up on this world?" He asked.

"Interesting!" The Grand Supreme Elder cast his spiritual sense towards the lower realm.

This world was just a world created by the two Saints of the Western Sect.

It was a world used to deduce the Buddhist dharma.

After it was created, the two Saints naturally came to ask for help.

The Grand Supreme Elder gave up one of his thoughts and fell into this world to become the master of the Tusita Heaven.

This kind of thing was very common.

The Grand Supreme Elder would often invite the Saints to abandon their thoughts and even their incarnations to accompany him to verify it.

Either to verify his own thoughts, or to help his disciples untie the knot in their hearts and break the mystery.

But...

Who would have thought that there would be some novel changes this time.

A new fellow Daoist actually spilled out a thought and fell into this world.

That fellow Daoist was unfathomable.

A single thought into the world would cause the world to turn upside down.

However, the Grand Supreme Elder was delighted to see him.

Unfortunately, that fellow Daoist only came to this world once, and there was no news of him anymore.

It was as if he was just here to play.

However, whether it was the Grand Supreme Elder or the two Saints who created this world.

They continued to maintain this world.

They did not refine the earth, water, wind, and fire, recreate the universe, and restart Yin and Yang.

There was naturally a reason for that.

Firstly, although that fellow Daoist came and left in a hurry.

But he could not lose face.

Since he was here and left behind his Dao.

He could not be easily destroyed.

Otherwise, it would be embarrassing for him, and it would not be easy to meet him in the future.

Secondly...

The things left behind by that fellow Daoist were really too interesting.

Extreme distortion, extreme chaos.

But it was upright and it pointed straight to the right path of the Great Dao!

Whether it was the Grand Supreme Elder or the two Western Saints, they had all deduced it.

They knew that this Great Dao could even lead straight to the other side, break the cycle of reincarnation, and prove that there was only one.

That was interesting.

The stones of other mountains could be used to attack jade!

Even the Saints had a path to continue climbing.

Therefore, no one was willing to let this world collapse just like that.

On the contrary, they secretly protected it.

Lest this world collapsed and lost a place to contrast.

"Fellow Daoist, since you are still reluctant to leave this world..." the Grand Supreme Elder waved his horsetail whisk, and a spiritual light fell into the lower realm. "Then I will naturally leave a backup plan!"

The spiritual light fell straight into the lower realm and into the Golden Dou Mountain.

A huge green ox was resting in the mountain.

When the spiritual light fell, the green ox immediately turned around and kowtowed like a human. "Teacher!"

"You stay here and pay attention to fellow Daoist Wutian for me..."

"If you meet fellow Daoist's disciple, remember to leave some good karma!"

"Yes!" The green ox spoke in the human language. "I understand!"

… …

In the underworld, in the surging Nether River.

A twisted colossus stepped on the Golden Body of Bodhisattva that had fallen in the Nether River.

The Golden Body of Bodhisattva looked solemn and dignified, but it was also a little evil and twisted. Countless leeches and worm-like things entered and exited the golden body on the surface of its body.

Suddenly!

The Bodhisattva, who was soaking in the turbid and twisted Nether River, sat up straight.

Those worm-like and leech-like things drilled into the golden body on the surface of his body, allowing him to finally regain his consciousness.

"Amitabha!" The Bodhisattva put his palms together and praised, "So the Heavenless Buddha is still thinking about this world!"

He smiled and was extremely benevolent.

He casually swept up the Ghost Kings who were fighting for living souls beside the River Styx and stuffed them all into his big mouth that was full of sharp teeth and fangs.

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva had once sworn that he would not become a Buddha until hell was empty!

That was his foundation.

It was also the shackles that bound him.

If he did not break these shackles, he would never be able to prove that he was the only one and reach the other shore. In the end, he would only end up in ashes.

The Heavenless Buddha suddenly came and passed by in a hurry.

But it gave him a blow to the head.

Since hell was not empty, he vowed not to become a Buddha.

Why not devour hell and become a Bodhisattva of freedom?

He sacrificed himself to become a demon and became this Ksitigarbha Evil Buddha!

Unfortunately, the Heavenless Buddha left in a hurry. The sacred footprints he left behind could no longer be traced.

He had waited bitterly for hundreds of years.

Today, he finally saw the traces of the Buddha again.

The Bodhisattva swallowed countless Ghost Kings.

He chewed with his big mouth.

A finger of the Buddha turned into a ferocious tentacle and gently flicked the mount that had already swelled up and was rotten like a corpse.

"Listen to the entire Three Realms for me..."

"If you meet the disciples of the Heavenless Buddha... you should leave good karma!"

"Yes!" Countless ears drilled out from the rotten body of Truth Listener. These ears quietly listened to everything in the human world.

… …

Mei Qing knelt in front of her teacher's corpse.

A black lotus appeared on her teacher's body.

Bits of lotus fire ignited. Her teacher's body was burning in the lotus fire.

The black lotus then carried her teacher's soul and floated into a tunnel.

That was the tunnel that led to the Underworld.

"Thank you, Heavenless Buddha!" Seeing this scene, Mei Qing bowed a hundred times.

The sound of Buddhist chanting entered her ears from the book in her hand.

Mei Qing understood that the Buddha had fulfilled his promise.

Now, it was time for her to repay the Buddha.

An equivalent exchange was very fair!

"May I ask the Buddha, what should I do?" Mei Qing asked the book.

As the wooden fish sounded, the Eastern Land appeared in Mei Qing's eyes.

The Buddha ordered her to go to the Eastern Land to collect debts!

Because the monk didn't pay!

That wouldn't do!

Back then, Tathagata had accepted three buckets and three liters of rice and gold from others to recite sutras for others. He still felt that he had suffered a loss and was extremely regretful.

The Heavenless Buddha had tried his best to impart the true sutra to the four of them.

But they didn't pay?

This greatly violated the original intention of the Heavenless Buddha.

Therefore, Mei Qing wanted to collect debts!

If the four of them still didn't come up, they would have to follow the agreement and work like cattle and horses for the Buddha for five thousand years!
