Chapter 83

Words:1555Update:22/06/22 10:58:26

Report

The players spent the night in the Frogmen Village.

Although the frogmen were puzzled by the sudden appearance of bonfires and various barbecue tools in their village's open space, as well as all sorts of seafood for food, they eventually attributed it to the blessings of the gods and accepted it. They even had fun with the players.

But all good things must come to an end. The next day, the players left the Frogmen Village and prepared to return to the Unnamed Town.

After all, there was nothing left in the Frogmen Village that was worth staying for.

There were sea monsters in the sea, but the players weren't good at diving, and there weren't many of them, so it was a hassle to fight them.

The Unnamed Town didn't just have the Living Dead Cellar dungeon, it also had the Valley of the Tragic Dead's outer perimeter, which was currently 22% explored.

The players who had leveled up and redeemed their rewards from the Extinguished Expedition naturally couldn't wait to go back and practice their skills — although they would still be beaten up if they ran into the Rotten Bones Archbishop and the Black-Robed Bishop in the Living Dead Cellar …

"You're leaving so soon …" Croakatoa looked at Edward and the others with a hint of reluctance.

"It can't be helped!" Edward smiled. "After all, we came here to help you, and now that your predicament has been resolved, it's time for us to leave."

"Then, Your Highness …" Croakatoa looked at Eleena.

It wasn't because they knew that Eleena was a Saintess-in-training, but because the frogmen had unilaterally taken her as the Saintess of the Aquatic Lord …

Thanks to this, Eleena had drawn a lot of the frogmen's divine energy to him after he received the Aquatic Lord's divinity.

"Eleena naturally has to go back as well."

Edward stood in front of Eleena without hesitation.

What a joke. It would have been fine if he was fooling her, but Eleena was a Saintess-in-training of the Church of Games, and there was no way she would keep pretending to be a Saintess of another church. If she really did that, wouldn't the great deity record him as the instigator …

Croakatoa was silent for a moment, then looked up at Edward. "Um, can I go on this adventure with you?"

Edward subconsciously wanted to reject her, but his eyes met Eleena's expectant gaze.

Just as Edward was hesitating, a new system notification suddenly appeared before him.

Could it be that the system had already been maintained? With this thought in mind, Edward continued reading.

[Ding! Game version V0.2 update completed.]

[Player level cap increased to Level 60]

[New profession for Mages: Tide Caller]

[Profession Introduction]

[Tide Caller: A Magician who has given up on other Elemental Schools and has chosen to specialize in the Water Element. Howling blizzards, raging tsunamis, and water elemental creatures that are difficult for his enemies to resist will all become his strength. With the surging power of the tides, he will stand tall among the strong!]

[Class Change Prerequisites: Players above Level 15 are required to complete the corresponding Class Change Quest.]

Just like its name suggested, the Tide Caller was a mage class that could create (actually, summon) water out of thin air, and then use it as a foundation to fight. According to the videos, there were three basic paths: [Ice Bind], which could freeze water into ice or directly freeze enemies; [Berserk], which could increase the flow of water, create tsunamis, or increase the pressure of water to cut through enemies; and [Xi Ling], which could summon water elementals from the water to assist in battle.

[New Clergy Class Advancement: Aquatic Saint]

[Profession Introduction]

[Aquatic Angel: A cleric who has given up on the power of divine grace and blessings. Under the guidance of the God of Games, he has listened to the sound of the ocean and formed a pact with the powerful creatures that dwell in the ocean. He would then train his body in the ocean to gain great power.]

[Class-Change Requirements: Cleric players above Level 15 are required to complete the corresponding class-change quest.]

The power of the cleric skills of a player who had become an Aquatic Angel would be reduced, but their basic attributes would be greatly strengthened, turning them from a support character to a tanky and DPS character. Among the skills they could develop were the [Sea Hunt] route, which allowed them to contract sea reptiles (similar to Ichthyosaurs and Azure Dragons) and summon them as skills to deal a large amount of damage in a short period of time; the [Deep Dive] route, which allowed them to contract strange sea monsters that would give people nightmares and summon them to participate in battle; and the [Sea King] route, which allowed them to contract sea gods (not real gods, but the overlords of certain seas) and summon their avatars as battlefield buffs or support in battle.

['Follower' system activated. Players can now hire followers in designated areas (Friendly Reputation in the corresponding area required).]

[Followers will receive their own stats page, but they cannot level up or add points on their own. Hirers will have to operate from the follower's page.]

[When a follower dies, their current EXP pool will be reset to zero. If the EXP pool is less than 10% of their current level, the hirer will have to pay the corresponding game coins at the Lifestone to be revived.]

['Grey Fjord Frogmen Village' has been added to the employment area.]

['Grey Fjord Frogmen Village' reputation system activated.]

[New exploration dungeon 'Grey Fjord Inland Sea' added.]

There were a lot more things in the system update this time, but Edward still found the main point — Mages could finally change class! He was no longer a second-class citizen when facing off against Spirit Swordsmen and Shadow Blades!

However, he couldn't help but hesitate as he took a closer look at the class change. While it felt cool to be able to control tsunamis, it felt like something was missing as a mage if he couldn't use other elemental magic …

On the other hand, Eleena's eyes lit up.

She checked her Reputation in the Frogmen Village and found that it was Worship, so she asked the frogman in front of her.

"Croakatoa, do you really want to go on an adventure with us?"

"Yeah!" Croakatoa, who was already a little dejected at Edward's silence, quickly nodded.

"Then from now on, you're my follower!"

The girl nodded in satisfaction and put her hands on her hips as she announced with a proud look on her face.

The next moment, the friendly green text above Croakatoa's head turned white, just like the players', and it even had a title. There were also some strange text behind it —
