After seeing off the Great Lion, Xi Wei began to prepare for the Lord of the Peaks' believers who were about to attack.
He deleted some of the plans he had in mind before and inserted a new one at the last minute.
Xi Wei, however, was not worried about the Players.
Just as the Great Lion had said, while the Lord of the Peaks was not an evil god, he was not too enthusiastic about his believers because he could borrow divine power from the Earthweaver.
That way, the Lord of the Peaks' believers would not be able to share much divine grace, which in turn kept the upper limit of their church's ability low, making them a laggard existence among the churches of the earth.
There were no top champions, and their average ability was subtle as well.
While the Players were still recuperating, they had the Sky Horizon to rely on and the Players who were breaking through Level 50 one after another. The believers of the Lord of the Peaks were really just appetizers for the Players who had gone through all sorts of terrible battles, a type of welfare that was still in its infancy.
Apart from what the Lord of the Peaks had mentioned, Xi Wei had also increased their authority by fifty percent. In other words, whichever side lost would fall from Intermediate God to Lesser God, while the other side would be able to replace it through a snowball advantage.
Of course, Xi Wei believed that the Lord of the Peaks would not dare to play so big, which was why he had told Aslan that the bottom line was 20% of his divinity.
For Xi Wei, even if he lost, all he had to do was give up the divinity of Ogayo, the God of Flowers and Fertile Lands — in other words, the divinity he found in the Elven Synchronized Intellect Nation.
And if he won, he would gain one-fifth of the Lord of the Peaks' divinity, and after he fully digested it, he might gain enlightenment on how to break through the shackles of intermediate gods and ascend to the ranks of greater gods.
When that happens, not only would Xi Wei be able to protect himself in a divine war, he could even try to fish in troubled waters and reap some benefits for himself.
"Slaughtering isn't good either. Since I'm going to give out benefits anyway, I'll just increase the difficulty a little … capturing an enemy would earn me five times the reward of killing them. That's about right."
Xi Wei was no saint, but the Lord of the Peaks was ultimately a deity of justice, and he had the Earthweaver as his divine father.
Even if the Lord of the Peaks had said that all grudges between them would be written off after this wager, if the Players were to directly wipe out the Lord of the Peaks's church and kill most of his followers for the sake of the rewards, it would be a miracle if the Players were to wipe out their source of divine energy which was no different from murdering one's father could be written off.
Putting everything else aside, even the Great Lion King would have some objections if they were to kill until rivers of blood flowed.
After a moment of hesitation, he tripled the amount of points he could redeem from each reward.
"Yes, this way I don't have to worry about going bankrupt." He nodded in satisfaction and muttered to himself as if he was explaining to someone, "I'm not being stingy, I'm just trying to motivate the players!"
Moreover, for the first time in a long time, Xi Wei had the Lifestyle Players build a dungeon to hold the captives captured by the combat Players.
Only the captives in the dungeon would earn points, and the practice of farming points through seven captures and seven executions must be strictly prohibited!
Of course, some might have doubts: the Players had just gotten rich from the Elven SIN event, and their items were all embedded with runes. There probably wouldn't be anything that would move them for the time being, and they would actively join the siege of the Lord of the Peaks' believers, right?
Xi Wei was naturally prepared for that.

"Eh? There's a new announcement from the System. "
Edward, who was having a meal at the Iron Cauldron Tavern turned on his System in surprise.
"It seems to be a new event." Gou Dan said nonchalantly as he flipped through the page.
"Spare me, I'm still weary from conquering the Elven SIN …"
Joe said gloomily as he took a sip of mead. "I undid the pain barrier yesterday, and my muscles were so sore that I almost fainted …"
In the end, Xi Wei was not a god of humans (it should be mentioned that there was no god of humans in this world for some reason) and didn't have much control over the human body. In fact, when the Players turned on the pain barrier, they were actually blocking out a considerable degree of touch as well.
It felt as if they were wrapped in a thick cotton coat that weighed nothing and wouldn't interfere with their movements. Their hands were also covered in leather gloves, and they wouldn't feel anything no matter what they picked up. While it was fine in battle, it was quite uncomfortable in daily life, which was why most Players wouldn't activate the pain barrier in their daily lives.
"Ah, I got a quest too." Eleena, who had been wrestling with a rather well-roasted honey steak put down her cutlery and turned on her System for a look, before exclaiming quietly in surprise.
"It's not a quest, just an event notice …" Since the event hadn't started, Edward browsed through it briefly before closing the page and continuing his lunch.
"No, it's a quest. My class-change quest." Eleena replied.
"Oh, class-change … Eh eh eh?" Edward's eyes widened. "What's the class-change for a Saintess-in-training? Are you going to become an official Saintess? "
"There are three paths: Valkyrie Saintess, Hymn Saintess, and Saintess of Divine Grace," Eleena replied.
"The condition for Valkyrie Saintess is to lead everyone to defeat the attackers in this event and obtain the highest number of points. The condition for Hymn Saintess is to collect a set of twelve Hymn Scrolls. There's no condition for Saintess of Divine Grace — you just have to participate in the event and complete it."
"I see …"
While Edward wasn't very clear about the limitations of those class-change requirements, he could vaguely guess the differences between the three Saintess classes.
Valkyrie Saintess was definitely heading towards the path of strengthening martial prowess; Hymn Saintess was unclear since he wasn't sure what Hymn Scrolls were, but Edward guessed from the name that it was a path of strengthening support or divine spells like the Warrior Princess; Divine Grace was the simplest, and was probably the most common Saintess in other churches …
"It's not just Eleena!" Gou Dan exclaimed in surprise as he carefully read through the event details. "Edward, look at the event rewards page!"
"What's the reward this time? EXP, items, or runes? I don't lack equipment at the moment … "
Edward slowly reopened the page.
"Neither! The reward for this event … "Gou Dan gulped." It's a special class! "
