"So there's more to it than meets the eye …"

Xi Wei clasped his tentacle and tapped on the penalty kick, feeling a multitude of emotions.

"But come to think of it …" The Great Lion stared at Xi Wei. "When I sensed Sothor's presence here, I thought you'd stirred up trouble again …"

"You're making it sound like I only know how to cause trouble." Xi Wei glared at him in dissatisfaction, but soon realized that his appearance wasn't intimidating enough, and so made another pair of eyes on his tentacle to stare at the Great Lion.

"Isn't that so?" Aslan asked in return, glancing at Xi Wei's tentacle that had eyes. He wanted to say something, but found it too troublesome, and so simply asked in return.

Xi Wei only reflected a little at his words, and realized that aside from the Evil God Rotten Bones that was made into a spittoon, he was the one who did most of it.

His aura promptly faltered, and his ball deflated as if it was leaking air.

"It's alright. Although I'm not sure what's going on, Sotor seems to like you quite a bit. Don't be fooled by the fact that he tampered with the divine power. That level of tampering is insignificant to us. With his status as the Father in Heaven, he wouldn't even bother to do that to an ordinary god."

"You're making it sound like you're saying that the pervert is actually a nice person after being molested by a decent girl." Xi Wei couldn't help retorting. "Is this a river? Is that even reasonable?! "

"Let's not talk about your strange analogy first … Even if we follow your words, can you still be considered a girl from a good family?"

"Then …" Xi Wei hesitated. "A decent girl without a ball?"

Aslan: "…"

The Great Lion appeared to have a headache as he rubbed his head with his meatball.

"Either way, it's good that we didn't fight. I've told you before, right? The divine realm isn't in a good state right now, and many factions are at odds with each other. A single spark might trigger the Fourth Divine War."

He told Xi Wei solemnly. "Although I know that the Invisible Pantheon would be dragged into the war, we must not be the cause of it, understand?"

"Why?" Xi Wei asked curiously. "I've been curious before, Aslan. You seem to be especially wary of divine wars."

While Xi Wei himself didn't look forward to war, he was no longer as fearful of it now that he was no longer a Lesser God who could only be cannon fodder.

On the other hand, Xi Wei found it strange that Aslan, the strongest Intermediate God who could possibly kill a Greater God, was so wary of divine wars that he kept reminding him not to start one.

"Because in any case, the existence that causes the war is not 'justice'. It is against my power and my clergy. Do you understand?"

Aslan said solemnly.

Xi Wei only reacted at the Great Lion's words.

Most gods were bound by their own Divine Order and Authority to a certain extent, and gods like Xi Wei who had almost no restrictions aside from ensuring the existence of the game and could play around blindly were rare.

"I understand." Since the Great Lion was taking good care of him, Xi Wei didn't intend to make things difficult for him and quickly agreed. "I'll try my best to behave myself in the meantime."

The Great God's mood visibly improved with Xi Wei's assurance. "That's good.

"That's good. But in a sense, you now have Sotor's protection. In a sense, the Earthweaver also sees you in a different light. Two of the Seven Divine Fathers are related to you. As long as you don't court death, there shouldn't be a problem."

Xi Wei flashed a simple smile.

It was a pity that the Players' ability to resurrect meant that he had thoroughly offended Lord Hades and poached many of the Brilliant White Church's members. His reputation with Lionheart was at least indifferent, if not hostile. Moreover, those two were the top of the Seven Divine Fathers, and were much more powerful than Sotor and the Earthweaver.

Aslan didn't know what Xi Wei was thinking, but felt that Xi Wei's simple smile looked honest, and that he would be at peace for a while.

He stayed in Xi Wei's Divine Kingdom for a while longer before leaving.

After all, the entire divine realm was in turmoil, and as the God of Absolute Justice, he had to roam the Divine Kingdom and keep an eye on dangerous individuals.

After seeing Aslan off, Xi Wei rolled around in his Divine Kingdom for a while, deciding that it was as the Great Lion had said: the Fourth Divine War was unavoidable, and it was better to keep a low profile for the time being, allowing the Players to develop in secret in the mortal realm.

After making up his mind, Xi Wei put aside some of his original plans and decided not to have anything to do with any other gods. He would shut himself in and have his believers farm crops to increase the production of their faith.

In the end, just as Xi Wei's consciousness entered his System to fix a bug, he noticed that something was happening over at Zonyan's side.

"Why is there an unfamiliar divine power shrouding the skies above the Vierlin Plains? The divine embryo is still there, but it seems that someone has set their eyes on it … "

It was fortunate that the divine power wasn't that powerful, and even a swordsman like Xi Wei could easily break through its seal to see what was going on inside.

In truth, the situation wasn't complicated.

The Long Ears had led the herbivorous nonhumans to quickly subjugate a large number of nonhuman tribes that were either weaker or unwilling to fight.

Following that, the Players moved out to beat up the stubborn Inhuman tribe that was putting up a desperate resistance.

The valiant feat of wiping out the Mountain Tigers left the Players fearful of the nonhumans, and after they personally experienced the Players' terrible beatings, the nonhumans gave up on obeying Swordtail Grayclaw and turned to the Long Ears' side.

Hence, the date of the final showdown between Zonyan and Swordtail was drawn much closer.

At the same time, Swordtail's faction and Zonyan's faction were gradually flipping from being dozens of times more powerful than the latter.

Now, Swordtail … or perhaps the old Grayclaw tribe's ruling position was starting to become precarious.

If things played out according to the script, Zonyan would be able to flatten Swordtail's last line of defense in a day or two and reclaim his throne.

And yet, in that very moment, Swordtail had sacrificed himself to an unknown god. While he gained great power, he had also sealed the entire Vierlin Plains like a transparent glass bowl, completely isolating it from the outside world.

From the looks of it, he intended to use the unknown god's power to get rid of Zonyan and maintain his position.

"What a joke. Are you the only ones with gods?!"

Xi Wei had just retracted his tentacles, intending to personally tear apart the barrier set up by the enemy's god and beat up the Lesser God that Swordtail worshiped, but he hesitated.

… Does that count as trouble?
