Report

Meanwhile, Edward and the others explored the fishmen island a little after they had their fill.

Aside from the Killer Tide Crabs' territory, there were many fishmen scattered throughout the island.

What surprised them was that apart from the normal fishmen they had killed in waves, there were also many special species of fishmen, as well as some rare high-tier fishmen.

While they could not find out the exact location of the seven Sea Sapphires, the island itself was divided into seven sections.

First was the long coastal zone, with reefs and the like apart from beaches.

Either way, it was a forbidden zone for fishmen because it was filled with Killer Tide Crabs. At the same time, while the Killer Tide Crabs were delicious, there was no telling which side would be eaten if two or more Tide Caller Crabs of a similar level attacked it together …

Then, according to the terrain, there was the mountain area, which was full of rocks, yellowish-brown at first glance, and full of cliffs and precipices; the forest area, which was covered by trees with seaweed characteristics; the desert area, which was also adjacent to the sea, but for some reason, it was dry and hot; the swamp area, which was also full of trees, was not land, but a natural trap formed by water pools, moss, and mud; the grassland area, which looked the most spacious and pleasant, was full of all kinds of waist-high grass, but from the constant rustling of the grass around it, it was obvious that it was definitely not as safe and peaceful as it looked on the surface.

There was also a tall mountain that had been cut in half at the center of the island, revealing a huge platform. On that platform, there was a portal called the Sea Eye. At the same time, there were many murlocs living in the central area.

If the other zones were all filled with hidden dangers, only the central zone was exposed, and it was almost certain to be the most dangerous zone.

Now that the division was so clear, there was no question that the seven Sea Sapphires were spread across seven zones.

Edward thought for a moment before deciding on their target: the central zone!

The group hid behind a boulder some distance away from the platform to prevent the fishmen from noticing them. "I've checked with my familiar spirit," Joe said first. "The Fishman High Priest beside the Ocean Eye has a sapphire that big hanging off his body."

Joe clasped his hands together and made a circle the size of a bowl. "That's definitely a Sea Sapphire!"

"So where's your familiar spirit?" Edward asked after waiting for a moment and realizing that Charle's familiar spirit hadn't returned.

"It was killed by the Murloc Priest's magic." Joe's expression was sorrowful. "It can only be summoned again after a ten-minute cooldown."

Edward patted his shoulder to comfort him, then asked, "Have you thought of any tactics?"

"Me, me, me!" said Joe again.

Edward made a 'start your performance' gesture in surprise.

"First, Edward, you and Eggface will ambush them from the right!" Joe said seriously.

"Call me Doug!" Eggface interrupted in dissatisfaction, but was ignored by Charle.

Edward nodded. Is this a feint to confuse the enemy? Wonderful!

"Then Eleena and Jessica will ambush them from the right!" Joe continued.

Edward nodded again. Using the strongest Eleena as the second wave of attack would give the enemy the illusion that they were being attacked from two sides, further exacerbating the chaos? Wonderful!

"Finally, I'll attack the enemy from the front!" Charle said solemnly.

Edward:?

"Then, all three sides will work together to destroy the enemy and obtain the gem!" Charle concluded.

Edward:???

That's it? Where's the backup plan? Where's the strategy?

Aren't you just fighting them head-on?! Why would I bother with a strategy if I could win?! Edward's face darkened, feeling that it was foolish of him to pin his hopes on Joe.

Logically speaking, there were so many fishmen in the Central Zone. Even if all the Players gathered and clashed with the fishmen, they would only have a fifty-fifty chance of winning, much less just the five of them.

"You don't think that's a good strategy? How about this: the four of you will ambush them from the front, and I'll ambush them from the back. Guaranteed to kill a fishman with one hit! " Noticing that Edward's expression wasn't right, Joe quickly changed his tune with a smug look that said 'What did I say? Did I actually come up with such an exquisite strategy? I'm so awesome'.

Edward, whose eye kept twitching, decided to ignore him.

"Forget it. Doug, use bow and arrow to pull a bunch of fishmen out. Joe will take over with Taunt, but don't get caught up in the fight. Retreat as you fight, and do your best to pull those fishmen as far away as possible. Jessica, keep their HP line up." Edward gave up on asking the others for a strategy, and began to assign tasks as usual. "Eleena and I are ranged, and we'll see if we could take down the Fishman High Priest in one strike when their numbers are low …"

Aside from Joe, who grumbled 'my strategy is clearly more interesting' in dissatisfaction, the others all accepted Edward's arrangement.

And yet, there was a problem at the very first step.

Gou Dan couldn't pull the fishmen out, and the archery baiting technique that worked so well in the dungeon was completely useless. After shooting down one or two fishmen, a few Fishman High Priests would appear, and Gou Dan would be hit by a barrage of spells from the Fishman High Priest's babbling.

Then, Edward, Eleena, and Jessica took turns to try baiting some fishmen out with ranged skills.

None of them succeeded, except for Eleena, whose skill was so powerful that it directly alerted the High Priest.

That left the girl being chased across half of Fishmen Island by all the fishmen who had come out of their nest (and even killed Marni who had just arrived). If they hadn't fled to the coast and used the Killer Fiddler Crabs that were almost immune to water-type magic to scare off the fishmen, Eleena would have died there.

After so many failures, Edward and the others almost gave up on the plan and were ready to think of something else or change their target. In the end, they sent out Joe as a last resort, and succeeded in luring out a bunch of fishmen — although there weren't many of them, it was a success.

After many tests, they realized that the fishmen would only chase after Joe, and did not spare a glance at anyone else.

How could that be? Could there be something special about the Spirit Swordsman that the fishmen would subconsciously chase after them?
