Hearing Qu Su's words, the Buddha sighed. "I'm here because of the Buddha's orders. Please reconsider, Senior Brother."
"Buddha is merciful. I have been waiting for this day. I have been thinking about it day and night without stopping. I have thought about it clearly." Qu Su replied, "I must avenge my master."
About four hundred years ago, his master, the Sword Buddha, perished because Yan Zhaoge and the others of Daoism went to the Jade Spring World in search of the Immortal Trapping Sword.
Qu Su himself was at the scene. He could only watch as the Sword Buddha died in front of him, but he could not stop it.
Afterwards, when Yan Zhaoge and the others were searching for the Immortal Exterminating Sword, Qu Su had also fought with them and returned after suffering a setback.
Ever since then, Qu Su had always stayed in the Blessed Lands of the White Lotus. He only focused on his cultivation and rarely participated in the battle between the Blessed Lands of the White Lotus and the Immortal Court.
"Senior Brother, why are you so stubborn?" The Buddha opposite him sighed.
"Please excuse me," Qu Su replied calmly. "I'm my master's disciple after all."
This sentence had a double meaning. It was not only about his relationship with the Sword Buddha, but also about the stubbornness of the master and disciple.
In the past, the Sword Buddha had been obsessed with the exploration and advancement of his own Sword Dao. He had spent his entire life studying it, and in the end, he had joined the heretic path of Buddhism.
Qu Su was calm and indifferent most of the time, but on some matters, he was as stubborn as the Sword Buddha.
The way the master and disciple walked was against the Buddhist dharma. The three poisons of greed, anger, and delusion were always present.
For the Buddhist sects, even if they were heretics, they could be considered anomalies.
However, perhaps it was exactly because of this that their Sword Dao was born and developed.
The subtlety and subtlety within made people sigh in admiration and unable to grasp it.
"Senior Martial Brother, you wish to take revenge for your master. However, the successor of the Three Clear Ones is no longer the same as before. I'm afraid you won't be able to see your enemy. What can you do if he hides?" The Buddha tried to persuade him, "Let's not talk about Yang Jian, Suo Mingzhang, and Feng Yunsheng. Among the Three Clear Lineages, there's still the Great Deity of the Three Seas Meeting, Nezha, who's still alive. They might also stop you from taking revenge."
He only mentioned that there were many Daoism experts, which might even prevent Qu Su from seeking revenge against Yan Zhaoge and the others. He didn't even mention that Yan Zhaoge possessed the Golden Body of the Great Sage, which might even allow the Great Sage Equalling Heavens' true body to reappear.
Even if he didn't mention it, he believed that Qu Su definitely knew about it.
He didn't say it out loud because he didn't want to embarrass Qu Su.
However, the monk-robed young man with a head full of worry had a calm and indifferent expression, as if he was unmoved.
The Buddha paused for a while and said, "Nezha went to the Western Heretic Path to challenge the ancient Dipankara Buddha. The Lotus Platform Buddha also went there, waiting for an opportunity to end the karma with Nezha, but … sigh!"
Hearing this sigh, Qu Su knew that the result was most likely that the Lotus Platform Spreading Dharma Buddha would fall instead.
"This is karma, this is fate. Senior Brother Jinzha is like this, and so am I." Qu Su said calmly, "Be it Yan Zhaoge's group or anyone else of the Three Clear lineage, it would be fate if I perish by their hands."
The Buddha opposite him advised, "Even if Senior Martial Brother is determined to break through this barrier, there's no need to be so impatient. Just be patient. Our Buddha will make arrangements for you, there's always a chance."
"There is no need to wait any longer." Qu Su said and smiled, "I can feel it. After completing my seclusion today, I've already reached the pinnacle of the Grand Heavenly Realm. No matter how much time passes, I won't be any stronger than I am now."
"The Dao Realm is hopeless for the current me. If I don't end my master's karma, I'll gradually deteriorate as time passes."
He retrieved the longsword hanging by his waist and unsheathed it. Looking at the water-like sword-light, he softly said, "Now is the most suitable time."
Qu Su turned to look at the Buddha and said with a smile, "The Buddha possesses remarkable abilities. Of course, you're aware of my current situation."
There was no need to belittle himself. Qu Su was extremely important to the Blessed Lands of the White Lotus.
Due to the fact that he didn't care much about matters, his position wasn't the second in the Blessed Lands of the White Lotus after the Maitreya Buddha.
However, in terms of individual strength, he was the strongest among the Buddhas in the Blessed Lands of the White Lotus and the Future Maitreya Buddha.
For the past few years, the Blessed Lands of the White Lotus had been suppressing the Immortal Court. Although the Immortal Court wasn't having a good time, they were still able to deal with the situation.
Part of the reason was because Qu Su rarely participated in battles. Otherwise, the Immortal Court would be in even greater trouble.
If Qu Su were to perish in the hands of Daoism, it would be a huge loss to the Blessed Lands of the White Lotus.
However, the Maitreya Buddha also knew that if he were to suppress Qu Su and prevent him from going, the Buddhist sword would naturally wear down and become weaker. It would be a waste.
Hence, even though he knew that Qu Su might not be able to gain any benefits, the Maitreya Buddha still remained silent and allowed Qu Su to do as he pleased.
"The world is unpredictable. Maybe my enemies will fall into the hands of others tomorrow. Maybe I will linger on and live a mediocre life, and one day I will see them die. I might even have the chance to hit them when they're down." Qu Su said slowly, "Or perhaps, they would one day drag me out of my hiding place when I was extremely weak."
The Buddha wanted to say something. However, his lips moved, and no sound came out.
"That's not what I want." Qu Su smiled, "I'll avenge my master. Or, I'll die in the hands of the Three Clear Lineages' descendants or my enemies. No matter what the outcome is, it's fine."
"Now, when I'm at my strongest, I'll give it my all and personally end everything. That's what I want."
Then, he pushed his hand forward, and the longsword returned to its sheath. Then, he nodded towards the fellow daoists in front of him, stood on the white lotus, and slowly rose upwards.
The Buddha looked at Qu Su with a complicated gaze. After a moment of silence, he said, "The one who caused the Lotus Platform Spreading Dharma Buddha to perish isn't Nezha, but Yan Zhaoge."
After killing the Lotus Platform Spreading Dharma Buddha, Yan Zhaoge didn't obstruct the Buddha light imbued with faith power from returning to the Blessed Lands of the White Lotus.
For the current him, there was no longer a need to conceal his killing of the heretics.
Due to the Immortal Extermination Formation, even if a stronger heretic expert were to descend for revenge, the strongest expert would only be in the Grand Heavenly Realm. It wouldn't be the Immeasurable Heavenly Lord or the Future Buddha.
As such, the Blessed Lands of the White Lotus knew who did it.
"Yan Zhaoge?" Qu Su's eyes lit up slightly, "He's near the western heretic Buddhist lands?"
"We don't know where he is right now, but the Wuji Apricot Yellow Flag might have appeared. He's most likely with the other Three Clear successors to obtain this treasure." The Buddha said, "Senior Martial Brother, why don't you go and take a look?"
"There are currently many experts gathered there. Still, the situation is chaotic as the various major powers are entangled with one another. It would instead be beneficial for you to directly seek revenge on that Yan Zhaoge. At the very least, it would be better than charging into the strongholds of the descendants of the Three Clear Lineages."
After thanking him, Qu Su sat cross-legged on the white lotus and flew out of the Buddhist Kingdom on its back.
