Chapter 533

Neville went back to his room to sleep after cleaning the toad's innards from under his fingernails. He was exhausted from the night before.

Elwyn continued to study ancient magical texts on the sofa in front of the fire, while Corin did her Transfiguration homework beside him.

Harry and Ron found a table in the corner with their copy of Uncovering the Fog to See the Future. They began to predict their fates for the next month, filling in the complicated planetary orbit table with numbers.

It was getting late. There were fewer and fewer people in the lounge, and the little wizards went back to sleep.

An hour later, Corin also went back. Elwyn put away the parchment full of magical texts and took out the Marauder Map for a while.

There were many names on it. Most of the little wizards were gathered in the common lounge and their respective bedrooms.

Elwyn saw Fred and George in the owl room, while Hermione was alone in the library.

Then, he shifted his gaze to other places.

Elwyn had been searching for a whole week, but he couldn't find Barty Crouch Jr.'s name.

It was too strange. He didn't know who Barty Crouch Jr. had impersonated to sneak into the Hogwarts.

Or, he hadn't sneaked into the Hogwarts yet. After all, the championship hadn't started yet.

Or, like Keresis, he had cast a spell on his name so that it wouldn't be marked on the Marauder Map.

Elwyn couldn't be sure, but anything could happen.

He thought for a while more before putting away the Marauder Map.

It seemed that the hope of finding Barty Crouch Jr. through the Marauder Map was slim. He had to think of another way.

Elwyn rubbed his eyes, stood up, and stretched. He was going to wait for Hermione. She hadn't returned from the library yet.

Harry and Ron were still at the small table, whispering to each other about their divination homework.

In fact, the two of them were getting nowhere. The table was littered with scraps of parchment filled with numbers and symbols.

Harry felt that his head was still foggy, as if it had been filled with smoke from Professor Trelawney's fire.

"What does this mean? I have no clue." He looked down at the long list of formulas.

"I can't understand it at all!" Ron said, his hair standing on end because he had been scratching his head in distress. He pointed to a planet and said, "Elwyn, do you know what it means for Saturn and Mercury to be in this position?"

"I don't know!" Elwyn leaned over to take a look at the complicated star chart. He was confused.

"This isn't easy. Have we finally discovered something that even Elwyn doesn't know about?" As Ron spoke, he turned around and looked at Harry. "Harry, since that's the case, let's continue with the Divination class."

"You mean, out of thin air?" Harry's eyebrows shot up.

"Yes." Ron said, sweeping the messy pile of draft papers on the table to the floor.

He dipped his pen in ink and started writing.

"Next Monday, I might cough because Mars and Jupiter are unlucky to coincide!" He looked up at Harry as he scribbled. "You know her. Let's try to make up something unlucky. She loves it."

"Exactly!" Harry said, crumpling the results of his brainstorming and threw them into the fire. "Alright, on Monday, I will run into, um, the danger of getting burned."

"That sounds good. I haven't done my divination homework yet. We can do it together!" Elwyn said, quickly taking out his divination textbook and parchment paper. He sat beside Harry and Ron.

He also needed to predict his luck for the next month. Elwyn did not want to spend his weekends drinking tea and fiddling with tea leaves.

Without the gift of prophecy, he was destined not to make much progress in divination.

Instead of wasting time on useless predictions, it was better to solve the homework quickly like Harry and Ron.

Anyway, Elwyn had already made up his mind to make it up. He did not expect Professor Trelawney to give him high marks.

Seeing Elwyn do this, it seemed to give Harry and Ron a lot of encouragement. The two became excited.

"I might run into the danger of getting burned next Monday," Elwyn wrote on the parchment. "Because I saw a flame in the teacup."

"Yes, we're all in danger!" Ron nodded. "We're going to see fried tail conches again on Monday, aren't we?! Alright, Tuesday, I will. "

"You'll lose money." Harry flipped through "Unraveling the Fog to See the Future" to find an idea.

"Good idea!" Ron said and quickly wrote it down. "Because, well, because of Mercury. Elwyn, you will be cursed with death because you will see Professor Trelawney again on Tuesday! As for Harry, you were stabbed in the back by someone you thought was a friend. What do you think? "

"That's cool!" Harry jotted it down hastily and said, "This is because Venus is in the twentieth zodiac."

"Then, on Wednesday, we got into a fight and lost."

"Yes, we can have a good fight with Malfoy, but I don't want to lose to him again. Let's write that we lost money in a bet."

"Because the bet predicted rain on Tuesday. Also, we got sick and stayed in bed for the whole day."

They made up predictions, and the color of tragedy became more and more intense.

Another hour passed, and it was nearly eleven o 'clock. Only the three of them were left in the common room.

Mount Crook sauntered over, jumped lightly on an empty chair, and shook it slightly.

It looked at Elwyn, Harry, and Ron with an inscrutable gaze, the expression very much like Hermione's.

If Hermione knew that they were being opportunistic with their homework, she would have the same expression.

It was an interesting sight. The three of them sat there, thinking hard about the unlucky event that they had not used yet.

After a while, Fred and George came into the common room. The two of them had thick parchment and quills in their hands. They were whispering to each other, and they looked exhausted. They said good night and went back to bed.

"The two of them must be studying Weasley's magic tricks again, or something like that." Ron said, "Remember, not long after the summer vacation began, Mom burned their last order, so they had to make a new one."

"But why did they do it behind our backs? If it was an order, they would have let us participate," Harry said, puzzled.

"Who knows!" Ron shrugged his shoulders.

Elwyn knew what was going on. The two of them were actually writing letters to Ludo Bagman, asking for a bet to win gold coins.

Although the Quidditch World Cup ended with an attack and the Mark of the Dark Magic, the two of them had bet correctly on the outcome of the game.

The Irish team won, but Krum caught the Golden Snitch.

This was a rare result, and Bagman had given very high odds.

This meant that he now owed Fred and George a lot of money.

However, he had no intention of returning the money. The twins' previous letters had all gone down the drain.

The two of them decided to write a letter to threaten Bagman appropriately.

"It's so late. Why isn't Hermione back yet?"

"She must have lost track of time in the library. She won't leave until Mrs. Pins kicks her out."

As soon as he finished speaking, the hole behind the portrait opened again, and Hermione climbed into the common room.

She held a roll of parchment in one hand and a box in the other.

As he walked, the things in the box rattled.
