In the eerie Azkaban, Bellatrix's maniacal laughter was still echoing.
"Among all the Death Eaters on trial, Bellatrix was the only one who refused to admit guilt and swore that her master would return." Dumbledore said, frowning as he studied Bellatrix for a moment, wondering what he was thinking.
"From what I know of her, as a ruthless and cruel person, Bellatrix doesn't have any particular passion." Sirius said, "She's like a carbon copy of my mother, always talking about family glory and pure bloodline."
Sirius did not look at Bellatrix again, as if he had made up his mind to ignore her.
"Of course, that was when she was a student." He continued, "She became a Death Eater not long after graduation, yet she's still so loyal to Lord Voldemort, even defending him in the highest trial in Weisengarmo. This is beyond my expectations."
All signs showed that Bellatrix had an ambiguous relationship with Lord Voldemort.
Elwyn thought maliciously that there might be some unspeakable relationship between them.
'Tsk tsk tsk, Lord Voldemort and his favorite female Death Eater.'
They continued forward, and Sirius introduced him to a few more notorious Death Eaters and other Dark Sorcerers. The strange voice did not appear again.
Dumbledore did not notice anything unusual, it seemed to be just his imagination.
Elwyn let out a sigh of relief. After walking for another twenty minutes, he could not help but ask, "Where's Peter Pettigrew?"
"In a special place, it's called the Throat of the Abyss, the core of Azkaban." Dumbledore explained, "Not all criminals are qualified to be imprisoned there. The Ministry of Magic probably thinks that Peter Pettigrew is the most vicious criminal, so they locked him up specially."
Hearing his words, Sirius let out a disdainful laugh.
"He doesn't deserve it!" he shouted.
"Of course he doesn't deserve it. He's not that strong, and he doesn't have a firm belief like Bellatrix." Dumbledore said calmly. "But there's nothing wrong with locking him up. At the very least, we can prevent him from turning into a rat and escaping."
They passed through the uppermost cell and began to descend a narrow staircase on the other side.
The spiral stone staircase continued downwards, as if it would lead to the deepest part of the earth, to the depths of hell.
The ground had long since changed from bricks to primitive rocks, and the temperature was getting lower and lower.
Elwyn could hear the sound of the sea. The cave extended deep into the sea.
He had already lost track of how long he had been walking. His surroundings were once again shrouded in fog.
The fog was brought by countless Soul Catchers. They hid in the checkpoints and narrow cracks in the rocks along the way.
The Soul Catchers floated there quietly, not knowing what they were waiting for.
"The Throat of the Abyss. I've never been here before!" Sirius said. He looked as surprised as Elwyn. "I only know that all the Soul Catchers come from this place. This is the source of their creation."
Elwyn looked around, and an indescribable sense of unease grew stronger.
His consciousness began to blur, and the scene in front of him was changing dramatically.
However, when he looked closely, nothing had happened. Everything was just his illusion.
In a haze, Elwyn followed Dumbledore and Sirius to a hole deep underground that glowed with a faint green light. The number seven was written on it.
This was cell number seven. Dwarf Peter was imprisoned here.
He looked much thinner than before, like a balloon that had suddenly been released. His face was pale, and he curled up on an iron bed, trembling.
Peter's small black eyes were dim, and there was no aura that could prove that he was still alive.
He lay there, unaware of everything around him.
When the light of Dumbledore's Patronus shone on Dwarf Peter, when he regained consciousness from the influence of the Soul Catchers, his first reaction was to cry.
He cried his heart out like an ugly, big-headed boy, and then realized what had happened.
He used all his strength to crawl towards Dumbledore, Sirius, and Elwyn.
Dwarf Peter knelt on the ground and said words of repentance. Just like what he had said before, he asked for everyone's forgiveness and hoped that they could take him away from here.
Elwyn knew that he was not sincere. He was only afraid of the Soul Catchers, afraid of Azkaban.
He was afraid of being left here alone, becoming a soulless monster.
Elwyn saw Sirius kick Dwarf Peter away roughly. He rolled to the side like a ball, and then he began to crawl towards him.
He was kissing his robe and begging in pain.
If he could hear what he was saying, Elwyn might feel pity for him.
However, the scene he was seeing now was completely different from reality. Under Dwarf Peter's pleas, the green cave in front of him was collapsing.
Elwyn found that something in his arms was also glowing. He reached out and took it out. It was the red nameplate that Dumbledore had just returned to him.
As if summoned by an unknown creature, the monster on the nameplate suddenly came to life.
The strange words that he heard in his mind and the changes that happened in front of him were all because of this nameplate. Elwyn felt that his soul was leaving his body.
This nameplate was like a door key. Under its attraction, Elwyn's soul left his body.
He floated forward quickly, as if he was being taken to an unknown place.
He seemed to have had a dream. In the dream, he dreamed of spinning light.
The light was swallowed by the sea. In front of him was an endless abyss and a spinning universe.
He followed the nameplate from the abyss to the moon, and from the moon back to the abyss.
Many Dementors and other ugly demons emerged from the abyss deep underground. They all looked at Elwyn. The twisted, noisy old demons were laughing, and the green-haired little demons with bat wings were also laughing.
Even the Dementors became excited.
"Dementors are especially sensitive to changes in souls. Every time someone dies, they become extremely excited."
Elwyn remembered what Sirius had told him before. They were so excited. Was he going to die?!
He pulled out his wand and wanted to use the Guardian Charm.
However, before he could chant the spell, he found that everything around him had disappeared. The scene returned to normal. He stood there, panting heavily.
Under the guidance of the nameplate, his soul had arrived at its destination.
It was still the cell where Peter was, but other than Elwyn, there was no one else.
Dumbledore, Sirius, Peter, and the Dementors. It was as if they had never existed.
A deep pit suddenly appeared where the metal bed used to be.
