The chairs on the Knight's Bus seemed to have been randomly found on different Muggle streets. Several wizards were sitting on them, trying to find a comfortable position.
Because of the sudden stop, someone's shopping bag had slipped to the other side of the bus. Frog eggs, cockroaches and custard were scattered all over the ground.
"We have to sit separately. Today is the first working day after the holiday, so there are a lot of people on the bus." Sirius explained, "Harry, you take the empty seat next to me. The others sit behind me. Percy, you keep an eye on them."
"Don't worry, leave it to me!" Percy promised proudly. He waved the Boy Union President badge on his chest and led Elwyn and the others to the back.
"I've always wanted to take this!" Ron said happily. He was sitting behind Harry, looking around excitedly.
Elwyn and Hermione continued to walk to the back and found two empty seats at the very back of the bus.
As soon as the two sat down, the bus started moving again. It swayed around the Shack, the body of the bus twisting.
There was another loud bang, and everyone on the bus rushed forward.
Ron flew up from the chair, and the piglet on his lap struggled out of the cage. It flew to the back of the bus and landed on Hermione's shoulder. Ever since Hermione had fed it with bread crumbs the night before, the owl had been particularly fond of clinging to her.
Hermione held on tightly to Elwyn with her right hand, and Elwyn grabbed the candle holder next to him. Only then did they not fall.
He looked out of the window. They seemed to be speeding along a highway. 【Love ↑ Go △ Little ↓ Say △ Net

"This is outside of Birmingham." The ticket seller, Stansang Parker, walked over and greeted them warmly. "Hello, I went to the shop at Diagon Alley yesterday. I didn't manage to buy any newspapers because there were too many people. By the time it was my turn, the newspapers had already been sold out. But it doesn't matter. I can tell everyone that I already have Blake's signature. "
Elwyn and Hermione each handed Stan eleven Chicos, and he handed them the tickets.
In the streets of Muggle the Cavalier lurched horribly, overtaking a line of small cars on the inside, and careening into the surrounding pavement.
Hermione was so scared that she covered her eyes. The little pig swayed happily on her shoulder.
There was a crash, the chairs skidded backwards, and the Cavalier jumped from the Birmingham high road onto a quiet country lane, full of treacherous bends.
Hedges jumped out of the way as the car lurched up the side of the road. Then they drove up a busy main road, a viaduct in the middle of a high mountain, and then a windy street between tall buildings, each time with a loud bang.
"Can't they drive a little slower?" Hermione said, trembling.
"There's only one speed on this bus!" Elwyn held Hermione with one hand and gripped the candlestick beside him with the other so that they wouldn't be thrown out.
Compared with the Hogwarts Express, the comfort of the Cavalier was abysmal.
Especially when it was full of people. It was even worse than when Elwyn had come to school with Harry and Ron in Mr. Weasley's car the previous year.
"Next stop is Hogwarts, mind you," said Stan cheerfully, waddling over, completely unaffected.
Not far away, there was the sound of vomiting and terrible crashing in the carriage.
Elwyn opened a small gap in the window, and along with the cold fresh air, he saw the Cavalier speeding past a shabby pub.
The pub dodged to the side to avoid being hit.
It was the Pig's Head Pub. The chopped off pig's head signboard creaked in the cold wind. Not far away was the snow-covered village of Hogsmeade, and there was no one on the streets.
Snowflakes hit the front window of the bus, and the bus sped up again. Finally, the bus came to a stop outside Hogwarts' main gate.
"We're here, kids!" Sirius helped carry everyone's luggage off the bus.
Following closely behind, Ron was the second to rush off the bus.
His face was pale, and he had been thrown off his seat six times along the way. He muttered, "I don't want to sit on this thing ever again."
Elwyn and the others got off the bus, and everyone waved at Stan.
The Cavalier started up again, and disappeared into the thin air.
The nine of them dragged their suitcases along the icy road to the castle. Although the weather was cold, everyone was excited, and they talked about interesting topics.
A few seconds later, the voices suddenly stopped.
In front of the school gate, Elwyn saw Snape, dressed in a black robe, coming to welcome them. He had a cold, fake smile on his face, and his black eyes narrowed, looking at Sirius with hatred.
Elwyn had naively thought that after Snape knew the truth about Lily's death and helped them catch Peter, his attitude towards them would improve.
But he found that he was wrong. Snape was just as disgusted as before, maybe even more.
"Welcome, welcome!" he said in a low, sarcastic tone.
"What are you doing here?" Sirius said immediately, his hand naturally on the wand at his waist.
"I'm here on Dumbledore's orders." Snape said in disgust, "I'm here to welcome the new Defense Against Dark Magic professor. What a terrible job."
"Where are the other professors?" Harry asked. "Why didn't Hagrid come?"
"Obviously, other than me, the other staff members are unwilling to accept this unpleasant job. They have a lot of opinions about a murderer becoming a professor in the school." Snape said, his voice getting more and more vicious. "But that's not surprising. The principal has always liked to hire strange people."
"Go away!" Sirius shouted. "I don't need you to welcome me. Get out of my sight before I can't help but beat you up."
"That's good. I didn't plan to waste too much time here anyway." The sneer on Snape's face became more obvious. "I'm not like you. I don't have unlimited free time."
Snape turned around, preparing to leave.
"Wait!" Sirius suddenly shouted. He frowned and said, "I've heard a lot of things recently. During my absence, the things you did to Harry in the school. I have to remind you that if you dare to find an excuse to bully Harry again, I'll settle the score with you. "
"How touching. The concern of a dear godfather for his godson." Snape sneered. "You must have noticed that Potter is very much like his father, right?"
"That's right." Sirius replied proudly.
"Then you should know that he's arrogant. Criticism is like passing wind to him." Snape said tactfully.
"Hmph!" Sirius pulled out his wand and strode toward Snape.
Snape also took out his wand and the two of them got into a fighting stance.
Sirius's face was livid. Snape seemed to be calculating. His eyes swept back and forth between Sirius's face and the tip of his wand.
"Sirius!" Harry shouted, but he didn't seem to hear him.
"I warned you, snot!" Sirius's face was less than a foot away from Snape's. "Dumbledore may think that you've been reformed, but I don't think so."
