Inside the Gold Crystal Pyramid, Wuying Qi led Li Yao and Long Yangjun down a branch that did not lead to the control room that Li Yao just saw, but to a space below the control room that was even vaster.

As far as his eyes could reach, there was no end to the space. The walls were made of certain black energy-absorbing materials that could swallow all light like black holes, making it look like a deep, boundless night sky.
But the crystals in the shape of eggs that were embedded on the walls were emitting weird brilliance. They were both like the stars in the night sky and countless pairs of weird eyes that stared at everybody in the space without blinking.
When Li Yao and his companions entered, a hundred people were already waiting for them in silence.
Everyone had shaved their heads and cleaned their bodies. They were only wearing black veils. Their expressions were solemn and their bodies emitted a holy luster. They were like a group of devout monks.
Li Yao glanced at the men and women who were brimming with sacredness, and he recalled a lot of famous names in his head. Those people were all well-known experts in the Imperium of True Human Beings. Most of them were the backbone of the reformists. Of course, some of them were assassins and mercenaries who valued wealth more than anything else.
It seemed that they were all Wuying Qi's most trusted people, his so-called "personal guards".
On a closer look, everybody seemed to be in a mix of zeal and trance. They looked at Wuying Qi in fascination, as if he were a magnificent statue that rose to the clouds.
Beneath their feet were intricate and complicated glyphs that were like lotus flowers with fangs biting them. The strokes of the lotus glyphs even extended in all directions, entangling with the glyphs of others. In the end, the lines of all the glyphs gathered at the center of the black space.
There, a throne made of black crystals was standing. It looked like a giant tree with luxuriant leaves. The black crystals were piled up all the way to the dome. Then, a lot of things that looked like 'roots' or 'tentacles' were spreading out from the dome.
Li Yao remembered the angle and the distance from when he entered. He was certain that the enormous black space seemed to be right below the control room that he had entered earlier.
In other words, the facilities above the black crystal throne were probably the mainframe crystal processors of the Gold Crystal Pyramid.
While he was pondering, Wuying Qi led Li Yao and Long Yangjun to the rune arrays that were closest to the black crystal throne. He asked them to sit cross-legged and meditate like other people did. Shua! Shua!

Immediately, thousands of black crystal tentacles tied up the black cocoon like vipers and crawled into the holes on the cocoon that corresponded to the acupoints of the human body.
It seemed that it was a piece of ancillary magical equipment that he had specially designed to replace the body.

The same tentacles hung behind every bald expert's head. Everyone was ecstatic as they connected with the tentacles. Their expressions were ethereal and excited, as if they had climbed to the peak of bliss.

This place was probably Wuying Qi's large-scale "brainwashing room" and the starting point of the entire "Next Sun Plan".
Wuying Qi's intense brainwaves would've spread to the black space before they were enhanced by the sun through the Gold Crystal Pyramid. They would've resonated with the brains of the experts to some extent and melted into one.
