The three players nodded with a smile. The woman with the viper tattoo said casually, "Yes, we are from the 'Valley of Thorns'."
Xin Xiaoqi's face was even more awful, as if a bitter and astringent orange had been stuffed into her mouth.
It was obvious that she did not want the two little fellows to hear the name 'Valley of Thorns', in case they fell deeper and deeper.
Han Te and the Coloured Glaze were both slightly shocked.
Li Yao's soul released two warm ripples to help the two little fellows calm down. Then, he sent a message to Heit's brain. "What is the Valley of Thorns? Is it dreadful? Don't talk about it with your mouth. Just draw on my back with your hand."
After spending more than a month together, Han Te had learned some secret techniques to condense spiritual energy and communicate quickly without a sound. He immediately wrote quickly on Li Yao's back with his fingertip as a pen. "The Valley of Thorns is the most mysterious and dreadful organization in the Land of Sins. Some people even say that they control the entire Land of Sins in secret.
"According to the legends, the Valley of Thorns raises the most dangerous assassins and the strongest mercenaries. Every large-scale conflict in the Land of Sins is related to the Valley of Thorns. But what is strange is that nobody has ever seen a living assassin or warrior from the Valley of Thorns. Even their dead bodies have never been found. Nobody knows where their headquarters are or how to contact them.
"In other words, nobody knows whether or not the organization exists. Maybe they are just groundless legends that do not exist at all. Or maybe, everybody who has seen the assassins and warriors of the Valley of Thorns in the past is already dead!"
"Don't be scared."
Li Yao's soul released a second ripple. "Nothing will happen as long as I'm here. Just calm down and play it by ear."
The mental devil, however, smiled at his soul and said, "It seems that the Valley of Thorns is the disguise of the 'players' of the Immortal Cultivators in the Arena of the Land of Sins. It is an organization of assassins and mercenaries that does not exist at all. Excellent. In such a case, they will have enough reasons to participate in all the conflicts and battles in the Land of Sins. Even if some sinners discover the truth, they will be 'erased' without anybody noticing. The order of the entire Land of Sins will be affected, since there is no order in this place at all."
Trembling in fear, Xin Xiaoqi summoned her courage and said, "My — My name is Xin Xiaoqi. I know a thing or two about everything in the Land of Sins. The distribution of the major forces, the personalities and features of the experts, the nests of the mutated beasts, the mysterious black markets … All in all, you are free to ask me about all kinds of bizarre, all-encompassing information. I will tell you everything I know. I will certainly satisfy you!"
It seemed that Xin Xiaoqi did not necessarily know that the three 'players' were the high and mighty 'angels', but she certainly had a deep impression of 'Valley of Thorns' and knew the dreadfulness of those ferocious gods. She was scared that she would be killed on the spot if she accidentally pissed them off.
Of course, Li Yao estimated that even if she did try her best as a guide and help the three players complete their so-called 'quest', she would not end up very well. It was very likely that she would be sent to "Manjusaka, the City in the Sky" and end up as a warm experiment subject.

The woman with the viper tattoo smiled and patted Xin Xiaoqi's shoulder neither lightly nor heavily. "Don't be so nervous. The person who asked you to come here must've told you what your next mission was, right?"
"Yes."
Almost out of her wits, Xin Xiaoqi nodded her head, shivering. "He asked me to bring you to 'A Boxing Champion', join 'A Boxing Champion's army, listen to your orders, and provide all the conveniences for you to accomplish' that thing '."
"That's it."
The viper woman pinched Xin Xiaoqi's cheek and smiled. "Complete your mission dutifully, and you will certainly be rewarded. However … what are the two things that follow?"
She pointed her chin at Han Te and the Coloured Glaze.
The muscular man and the six-eyed short man both aimed their eyes at the two little fellows.
Stared at by the three Immortal Cultivators, the blood all over the two little fellows' bodies was almost frozen. Had it not been for the spiritual energy that Li Yao transmitted to them to help them maintain their condition, they might've grunted and collapsed to the ground.
"They — they're with me."
After a moment of hesitation, Xin Xiaoqi gritted her teeth and gestured quickly. "Let's go to A Boxing Champion's camp together!"
"Is that so?"
The viper woman gave no comment. Narrowing her eyes, she observed Han Te and the Coloured Glaze, the two little fellows who were too naïve. Her lips suddenly shivered.
"Their killing intent is very intense," the mental devil said impatiently.
The mental devil couldn't wait to ask, "Should we kill them?"
"You're out of your mind. Since they are 'players', they must be carrying communication tools that allow them to reach out to 'Manjusaka, the City in the Sky'. Chances are that they have retina chips stuck to their eyes that can record and upload everything they see in real time. Even if they don't, the guy with six eyes certainly does!"
Li Yao analyzed calmly. "Even if we are going to kill them, now is not the time. We need to figure out a way to cut off their signal and block the surveillance from the sky to the ground. It will be best if we can set up a few traps that we don't have to do in person."
"They seem to be communicating with each other in secret."
The mental devil grinned hideously. "How naïve. Do you think that it is foolproof? Let me crack it!"
The so-called secret telepathy was nothing more than the precise control of the soundwaves, which could be condensed into lines similar to light beams and directly transmitted to the receiver's ears.
However, no matter how condensed and controlled the soundwaves were, the soundwaves would still spread out feeble ripples. As long as the gap between the two parties was large enough, there would naturally be a way to block and crack the soundwaves.
A moment later, the conversation that the three 'players' thought to be confidential was intercepted by Li Yao and the mental devil.

The viper woman did not seem to be fond of working with too many locals, either. She considered the suggestion of her two companions carefully.

As if he had just woken up from a dream, Han Te hurried to take out the rusted iron card from his pocket and said, "Please take a look, everybody. This is A Boxing Champion's invitation card. With it, you will be able to join A Boxing Champion's camp directly!"
Xin Xiaoqi was slightly dazed. She did not expect that Han Te and the Coloured Glaze would have an invitation card. But as if she had grasped a life-saving straw, she hurried to nod and said, "Yes. With the invitation card, the six of us will be able to join A Boxing Champion's army directly!"
Li Yao saw that the viper woman rolled her eyes and hesitated for a moment. In the end, she snapped her fingers at her companions and said, "Forget it. Let's keep them alive for now. Maybe they are really teammates that the system randomly assigned to us and will trigger some weird side quests. I ran into similar situations when I was here for trials in the past. Although the quests were not very impressive, it would still be a shame to kill them so early."

The viper woman, Red Viper, suddenly shifted her attention to Li Yao. She glanced at him casually at first, but then she grew curious and touched Li Yao's iron shell carefully. She remarked in surprise, "It looks crude and ugly, but the design of some of the components is not bad!"
Li Yao's wariness, which had just been lowered, soared to the maximum again. Should Red Viper spread her spiritual energy to the core of his crystal processor to investigate, he did not know whether or not he could fool the eyes of the 'seasoned player' without alarming anyone. If it did not work out, he would have to kill her at the risk of being discovered.
Damn it. Why were the Immortal Cultivators always asking to be killed?
"Its name is' Fiend Star '. It's our spiritual puppet."
The Coloured Glaze added, somewhat anxiously, "It's very awesome!"
"Very awesome?"
Red Viper glanced at the joints and gaps that Li Yao had intentionally connected roughly and then at the tracks that were covered in mud and fungi. She smiled casually and said, "I don't know if it's awesome, but it seems that it can pull a lot of goods."
"Exactly."
Han Te hurried to add, "The shuttles consume too much spiritual energy. We don't have so many crystals. In many cases, we have to rely on 'Fiend Star' to carry all our belongings."
Red Viper was not a refiner, and she was not interested in the spiritual puppets of the 'locals' in the 'newbie village'. She simply bent her finger and flicked Li Yao's iron shell softly.
Clang!
The sound of components falling off and crashing immediately echoed inside Li Yao's body, and the indicator blinked quickly.
