Even though Neltharion was a piece of probe magical equipment whose perception range was not very far away, it could still detect the ripples of spiritual waves spreading out in the sea of stars.

It was definitely not naturally-generated radiation but the traces left by certain marvelous weapons when they were activated to the maximum.

The metal remnants that Neltharion captured now and then were both old and new. Some of the remnants were obviously torn apart and melted recently.

Li Yao also vaguely sensed that a lot of starships had sailed in the resource-rich area at the core of the galaxy. Hundreds of star beacons constituted an enormous space gate, too.

Now and then, fleets from other Sectors would jump to this place under the guidance of the space gate.

Even the unmanned crystal cameras floating in the vacuum of space were increasing in number, forming an impenetrable perimeter.

According to the evidence, this place should be a test field for new magical equipment of the Imperium of True Human Beings.

Li Yao did not dare let 'Jingle Bell' get too close to the fourth planet of the galaxy.

Although 'Jingle Bell' boasted a rather advanced stealth system, it had been riddled with holes and contaminated by tremendous radiation after all because of the scourge of the cosmic storm. If it was too close to the home planet of the Martial Meritocrats Sector, it was very likely that it would be scanned by the unmanned crystal cameras everywhere.

Li Yao hovered at the periphery of the Martial Meritocrats Sector for three days before he chose the ninth satellite of the fifth planet of the Martial Meritocrats Sector.

It was a barren planet that did not have the slightest spiritual waves. Even the metal reaction was not intense. It had absolutely nothing.

It was not even qualified to serve as a 'weapon test field'.

Li Yao observed in secret for a long time, only to find no sign of human activities or magical equipment attacks on the satellite that looked like a pebble.

It could not have been a better place to hide 'Jingle Bell'.

Li Yao found a fold thousands of meters deep on the satellite. Other than the hibernation cabin where his fleshly body was sealed, which was still functioning at the minimum, he turned off all the units of 'Jingle Bell'.

He then created a minor collapse of mountains that seemed to be caused by the collision of meteoroids and buried 'Jingle Bell' below.

After the flawless disguise was completed, Li Yao's soul and the mental devil flew toward the home planet of the Martial Meritocrats Sector on Neltharion without a sound.

The biggest problem of Neltharion was that it was too small and did not have a Cosmos Ring. As a result, the fuel and energy that it could carry were pitifully few.

Therefore, after breaking free from the gravity of the satellite and accelerating to the highest speed, Li Yao put Neltharion into the inertial flight mode. Occasionally, in order to avoid the patrol fleets and the unmanned crystal cameras of the Imperium of True Human Beings, he slightly adjusted the direction.

Neltharion was only the length of a finger. After he advanced into the Divinity Transformation Stage, Li Yao's control over spiritual energy had improved to a whole new level. In the boundless sea of stars, however dense the defense network of the Imperium was, how could it block such a starship that was as thin as a needle?

Li Yao broke through the defense network at the periphery of the Martial Meritocrats Planet smoothly. He observed the planet that had profound significance in the history of the civilization of mankind from a distance.

If thirty percent of the propaganda of the Imperium of True Human Beings was true, the monsters known as' Immortal Cultivators' had been born in this place.

The Martial Meritocrats Planet today, however, was covered in a vague gray fog. It did not seem to be a natural phenomenon but more like some sort of weird magnetic field or defense array.

In the middle of the gray fog, quite a few narrow, long rails could be vaguely seen. Some of them were parallel to the equator, and some were perpendicular to the equator, surrounding the Martial Meritocrats Planet.

Since the rails could be discovered with the naked eye, their diameter must be shockingly thick. They must be super-large facilities similar to the 'orbit docks' in the Uranian Ring Sector.

The Martial Meritocrats Planet had only one satellite. The space gate was established near the satellite. A military base of an enormous scale seemed to have been established there. At the very least, Li Yao had sensed the arrival and departure of quite a few heavy starships in only three hours.

What should he do? Where should he choose as his first target?

Should he choose the Martial Meritocrats Planet, its satellite, or a random warship of the Imperium that was passing by?

After pondering for a moment, Li Yao decided to focus on the Martial Meritocrats Planet.

The warships of the Imperium were fully enclosed in space. They were also protected by the spiritual shield and the magnetic field interference array. It was barely possible to sneak in. If any tricks were played on the shell of the warship, the defense system of the warship would easily detect them.

Besides, not all the warships of the Imperium had 'high-molecular layer-by-layer scanning magical equipment'. Li Yao estimated that he would have to find it on the 'comprehensive maintenance starship' at the very least.

It was the same logic to sneak into the satellite. It was a military base of the Imperium of True Human Beings, which must be heavily guarded.

The fuel and energy on Neltharion were limited. It might not be enough for his soul to perform the complicated movements.

It would be rather awkward if Neltharion ran out of fuel during the sneak into the military base, and his soul wandered randomly in the base of the Immortal Cultivators as a wandering ghost.

The size of the Martial Meritocrats Planet was much larger than that of the Heaven's Origin Planet. Its surface area was almost twice as large. It was impossible for the Immortal Cultivators to monitor every corner. There was always room for him to be stealthy.

More importantly, the Martial Meritocrats Planet was a habitable planet. It boasted a thick atmosphere that could resist ninety-nine percent of the radiations and particles.

For the soul that was not protected by a shell, it was a relatively comfortable and stable environment.

Li Yao was quite interested in exploring the Martial Meritocrats Planet and seeing what the legendary hometown of Blackstar the Great looked like, too.

However …

"The entire Martial Meritocrats Planet is enshrouded in an enormous magnetic field that seems to be some sort of barrier and seal," the mental devil said.

"The barrier is activated by the dozens of rails around the entire planet. There is no telling what is wrong with it, and there is no telling whether or not it will detect Neltharion when it breaks through the atmosphere."

It was a big problem.

Li Yao focused his attention and continued observing the Martial Meritocrats Planet.

"Huh?"

His soul shivered softly, and a tiny crystal camera was extended out of the head of Neltharion. "What's that?"

He saw that an enormous fleet had taken off from the satellites of the Martial Meritocrats Planet and sailed beyond the orbit of the Martial Meritocrats Planet, spraying tremendous materials at it.

The materials fell at a high speed, leaving red lotuses in the middle of the atmosphere of the Martial Meritocrats Planet, like the most glamorous meteor shower.

The distance was too far away for Li Yao to tell what the fleet had thrown down.

If it was' orbit bombardment ', it did not seem necessary, but if it was the debris of magical equipment and the garbage of spiritual energy, it would be rather weird.

Li Yao's soul constructed models quickly and calculated the trajectories of the materials crazily. He discovered that the materials were sprayed without any pattern. A lot of the materials were crashing into each other and spluttering. Many of them were out of the surveillance of the fleet and flying to the ground at oblique angles.

The barriers and seals that surrounded the entire Martial Meritocrats Planet did not react to the materials at all. It was like the routine dumping of garbage every day for the fleets of the Imperium.

Li Yao thought of something. Without any hesitation, he adjusted the speed of Neltharion and the angle of its entry into the atmosphere to the best.

The moment before it entered the atmosphere of the Martial Meritocrats Planet, it had subtle collisions with a material that was spurted out from a starship of the Imperium, as if part of the material had been dissected. It indeed snuck in without any hindrance!

Hiss! Hiss! Hiss!

The most glamorous flames were raised when Neltharion was rubbing against the atmosphere at a high speed. Li Yao's soul seemed to be in the middle of an ocean of fire, soul-stirring and splendid. His new understandings turned into new models that blossomed inside his soul.

Hiu!

After a long time, the boundless ocean of fire immediately dispersed, and Neltharion successfully broke into the atmosphere of the Martial Meritocrats Planet.

Li Yao had cut into the atmosphere from a long distance away in the first place. His trajectory was different from most of the materials. By the time he passed through the atmosphere, the 'meteor shower' around him was long gone, allowing him to observe the planet that had been famous for a long time without any hindrance.

Li Yao's first impression when he was thousands of meters high was that it was … a planet that was struggling to survive.

The sky was gray, and the land was yellow and brown. Even if he looked as far as he could from thousands of meters high, it was barely possible to find any greenery. It was like a rotten apple or an orange that had been squeezed dry.

On the land, dense skyscrapers could be seen everywhere, constituting enormous cities, which meant that a highly-developed, brilliant civilization had once existed there.

But right now, all the cities had turned into gloom and silence. Broken walls and empty rebars were everywhere. The crystal rails that extended in all directions had all been twisted into fried dough twists before they were covered by the sand, turning into broken tombstones that had not been cleaned for hundreds of years.

Li Yao also saw bottomless craters on the ground. Every crater was like a bloody mouth that could not be filled. They were almost swallowing the city ruins nearby.

In terms of diameter, the smallest pits were hundreds of kilometers in diameter, and the largest pits were immeasurable.

Li Yao saw the folds and ripples caused by the blast at the edge of the pits. He also saw some signs of high-temperature melting.

It meant that the pits that were hundreds of kilometers in diameter and swallowed half of the city were probably 'bomb pits' caused by the bombardment of a certain destructive weapon.

He just didn't know if the city next to it had already been deserted when the crater was formed, or if it was still bustling with traffic and people.

This planet seems to have had more than a hundred world wars. Blackstar the Great is truly brutal to his hometown!

Li Yao's soul continued releasing telepathic thoughts in all directions. He seemed to have found some signs of life on the horizon, which was more or less a relief for him.

However, he did not dare to release his telepathic thoughts blatantly to investigate, partly because of the lack of spiritual energy, and partly because he had discovered the waves released by a lot of high-precision crystal cameras and scanning rays in the sky.

This was a planet that was under high surveillance.

His every move had to be done with utmost caution.

"We can't always move with Neltharion."
