Master Huize, who had practiced silent meditation for 30 years, was defeated, but all the monks present, other than Monk Kong Hai whose eyes were covered by a patch of cherry blossoms, had witnessed the entire process. Although they did not feel it as deeply and directly as Master Huize, the feeling of great terror was still as clear as ever.
Forcefully … erased!
This was a method and ending that would make a normal person, no, even a highly virtuous monk, tremble.
"Second round," Qilü Monk reminded.
"Poor Monk, come."
Huiying Monk walked out. He was Qilü's direct ancestor, and one of the beads in Qilü's hand was his relic. It was only right and proper for him to discuss Buddhism with Qilü.
"Please enlighten me."
Perhaps it was because he had just relived his childhood growth, but Qilü's mood was slightly down. Of course, this also allowed Qilü to enter the state earlier.
What was lost was lost, and he had to grasp what he could now as soon as possible.
Huiying Monk put his palms together and said, "Today's cause, tomorrow's effect. Sowing cause reap cause, sowing fruit reap fruit. The cycle of cause and effect is the principle of Buddhism. Reverse cause and effect, from Buddhism to the devil."
At their level, discussing Buddhism was no longer just a competition of understanding and familiarity with Buddhist scriptures. Instead, it had risen to a kind of worldview and even a confrontation of beliefs and beliefs.
If they were not careful, Xinyang would collapse, and for most people, it would be a situation beyond redemption.
Huiying Monk's words were actually mocking Qilü's actions of deceiving his master and destroying his ancestors, which went against human ethics and was truly absurd. He was implying that if Qilü did not turn back and stubbornly persisted, he would gradually drift away from Buddhism, and might even fall into the devil's path.
Qilü stretched out his hand and pointed at the white jade lotus seat beneath his feet, then at the green stone table surrounded by the monks, as well as the compass on the green stone table that was emitting the aura of an array. He said very calmly,
"This is the cause, and Poor Monk is the effect.
You have sown cause, and you know that there will be an effect.
The cycle of cause and effect is the principle of Buddhism.
Those who sow cause do not know what is effect, and those who sow cause should bear the effect.
If you rejoice in good things, and despise evil things,
What is the difference between you and the foolish village women of the secular world?
Relic, form is not different from emptiness, and emptiness is not different from the form. What is the difference between perception, thought, action, and knowledge? "
When Monk Hui Guo heard this, he nodded slightly. He could naturally understand what the monk meant. That was, you are playing this game today, and I am the cause and effect of this game. I want to take away what I want, and if you don't want to give it to me, then you are not following the cause and effect. What is the difference between this and the stupid people in the secular world who only like to see beautiful things but hate things they hate?
However, Huiying Monk did not know what his master's mentality was. His own emotions had indeed fluctuated slightly because of Qilü's counterattack. This traitorous disciple actually compared him to a foolish village woman!
Huiying Monk wanted to continue debating, but then he smiled. He thought of a better way. He took a step back and placed his palm on the compass on the green stone table.
"You said that we have sown the cause today, and that is why we have produced you.
If I were to strike now, the cause today would be gone, and the effect would naturally be gone as well.
Karma exists in a single thought. Karma is Buddha, and the Buddhist Dharma is boundless. Today, there is quantity, but it is not karma. "
Huiying Monk's meaning was very simple. Didn't you, Qilü, say that you came out because I and the others played this game today? Didn't you, Qilü, say that we have to follow your effect when we have sown the cause?
If I shatter this compass now, then all this connection will end. You will go back to where you came from. Today's cause will be gone. If the cause is gone, then the effect will be gone. Karma is the great principle of the Buddhist Dharma. It is the Great Dao that all living beings pursue. It is boundless and limitless. If you can destroy the cause and effect, then it is not true cause and effect.
When Qilü heard that, he fell into deep thought. In fact, his direct grandmaster had pushed the competition of On Buddha to an extreme. It was a little like two people playing chess. Originally, no one could determine who would win or lose with the level of the two sides. However, one of them had the ability to overturn the chessboard at any time and make the game invalid. Then, the outcome of the game would actually be meaningless.
Huiguo Monk looked at the compass in front of him and then at the disciple in front of him. He did not say anything. Karma was the Dao. There was no fairness or unfairness. Once the compass was destroyed, it was equivalent to destroying the connection between the past and the future.
After this..,
The monks were still monks, the Azure Dragon Temple was still the Azure Dragon Temple, and Qilü was still Qilü. They no longer intersected.
It all depended on whether this junior could break out of this situation.
When the other monks saw that Huiying Monk had taken the initiative, they were extremely happy. They had lost the meditation competition previously, but they couldn't lose two rounds in a row, right? One had to know that they were all this kid's grandmasters. If they couldn't deal with him, it would really be a huge embarrassment.
Among those present, only two monks remained calm, without joy or sorrow. They had guessed what their master, Master Huiguo, was thinking. If they were not sure before, then their master's action of personally plucking a cherry blossom petal and placing it in front of Monk Kong Hai's eyes could be considered an explanation.
However, these two monks did not say anything, nor did they do anything. Since their master already had a plan in mind, there was no need for them to say anything more.
As for the rest of the eminent monks, to be honest, there were some who were reluctant to give up their own cultivation and the inheritance of the Azure Dragon Temple, but most of them were quite open-minded. How could a person who could enter the eyes of Master Huiguo and be accepted as a disciple be ordinary? Even Monk Kong Hai, whose eyes were covered by a cherry blossom petal, was able to create the Shingon Sect after returning to Japan. How could the other eminent monks be inferior?
It wasn't that they really couldn't bear to part with anything. They just felt that it was too unpleasant to suddenly have a junior disciple come to their door and ask for the cultivation of Dharmakaya.
Yes, it was this unlikable feeling.
And now, Senior Huiying was indeed worthy of being the direct grandmaster of this traitorous disciple. He had grasped this traitorous disciple's weakness, right?
Qilü Monk was silent for a long time. In the eyes of the surrounding eminent monks, this was a sign that he was at a loss for words, a sign that he was in a dilemma.
Sure enough, Qilü opened his mouth.
"Yes."
This time, all the eminent monks were a little surprised. What did this "yes" mean? Just like that, he admitted defeat so openly?
The guy who had arrogantly said that he wanted his Dharmakaya cultivation to deceive his master and destroy his ancestors actually admitted defeat so easily?
Even Monk Hui Ying was a little surprised and astonished. Actually, he still admired Qilu from the bottom of his heart. Even if he had some actions of deceiving his master and destroying his ancestors, he was still the one with the highest cultivation among the disciples of the later generations. Moreover, he was from his own lineage.
But very quickly, a smile appeared on the corner of Qilü's mouth. He stretched out his hand and pointed at the compass on the bluestone table.
"Grandmaster, you can give it a try."
"Do you think that the Poor Monk doesn't dare?" The Huiying Monk asked.
"Amitabha, it's not that I don't dare, but I can't." Qilü Monk took a deep breath, looked at the Huiying Monk calmly, and said sincerely, "Grandmaster and all the granduncles have always thought that I deceived my master and destroyed my ancestors, but I didn't expect that I would say so much and stand here for so long.
This is already the greatest respect and the greatest sincerity. "
"Ha, arrogant, so arrogant!"
"This … Is he not admitting defeat?"
The surrounding eminent monks were amused by Qilü. In fact, it was difficult for them to have real feelings of fear and hatred. Things in the world were generally done according to their preferences, and following their hearts was their current nature. Of course, the scene when they were meditating did make them feel great fear, but this was an exception, and it could not be measured by common sense.
The Huiguo Monk tapped his fingertips on the bluestone table gently, feeling something in his heart.
The Huiying Monk did not have the ability to see through everything like his master, so he also asked in confusion,
"It's really … unbelievable."
Yes, it was already difficult for them to understand what Qilü had just said. They could not possibly point at Qilü's nose and scold, "Why is your f * cking skin so thick?"
The Qilü Monk pressed his palms together and bowed to all the granduncles present. Finally, he bowed to his direct grandmaster, the Huiying Monk.
Then, he said, "Today's cause is all of you. Naturally, the Poor Monk is the effect today.
However, in fact, the cause today is not you. The cause today is the Poor Monk himself, and you are the effect of the past.
Karma is orderly, and the Buddhist Dharma is boundless.
Since the Poor Monk is the cause, you must be the effect. When the effect is born depends on the cause. The Dharmakaya and cultivation level of the Grandmasters, as well as the luck of the Azure Dragon Temple, also depend on the Poor Monk.
The Poor Monk, the Qilü, is the cause! "
The Qilü Monk suddenly raised his voice and said,
"The cause is set on the Poor Monk, and the Poor Monk comes from a thousand years later. A thousand years later, the Grandmasters have long passed away.
So..,
There are no Grandmasters today, and there is no real Azure Dragon Temple today! "
This was a little like Einstein's Theory of Relativity. The so-called "Cause" was like a coordinate. If the coordinates were set in the Tang Dynasty a thousand years ago, then these eminent monks would be able to determine the result of the monk. If the Huiying Monk destroyed the compass, the Qilü would also lose all contact with the gathering a thousand years ago.
However, if the coordinates were set on the Qilü and the Qilü was the cause, then with the Qilü as the coordinates, it was already the 21st century a thousand years later,
Where was the real Azure Dragon Temple,
Where were the existences of these Grandmasters?
The Qilü's meaning was very simple. In my eyes, all of you are dead. I've been standing here talking nonsense with you dead people for so long. Isn't that polite and respectful enough?
In an instant, when the Qilü made his great wish, the bodies of all the eminent monks present began to decline. The Huiying Monk reached out his hand to shatter the compass, but his palm turned into bones first and then into ashes.
All the monks and eminent monks present wanted to say something or do something, but they realized that they could not move at all. Their bodies, their cultivation levels, everything about them was disappearing, declining, and going far away.
The eminent monks who were originally on the White Jade Lotus Throne had actually turned into skeletons at this moment.
The Qilü stood where he was. His gaze was still calm. He pressed his palms together again and said,
"Amitabha."
This voice..,
Was to send them off..
