Inside the Ruins of Divinity —

Outside the damaged city, a figure was quietly approaching with a little skeleton by his side. The little skeleton was sneakily looking around and probing ahead.

Those zombies have different combat abilities. The ones in armor seem to be the city guards; they're all Star Lords. The other zombies are mostly in the Star State. I don't see any Fate State zombies. They're probably too weak to resist the weird power and have been corrupted.

Su Ping had gained a lot of experience after hunting more than thirty zombies in a row.

He soon found his way into the city and asked the Little Skeleton to lead the way and lure the zombies.

The city was desolate and full of ruins after the war. Su Ping noticed that some of the buildings were also occupied by zombies. The zombies in those buildings were the most dangerous and hard to detect. They didn't carry the aura of living creatures; they were just inanimate objects, like buildings, rocks and flowers.

"Blood!"

Su Ping was very experienced in hunting; he had found a way to hunt them easily. While the zombies were dangerous, they were even less intelligent than wild beasts; it wasn't hard to hunt them.

Find something that attracted them and lure them into a trap. That was the most primitive hunting method; it was simple but effective.

Su Ping smeared his blood on the skeleton soldiers summoned by the Little Skeleton. The Little Skeleton soldiers wobbled forward. The zombies in the buildings were immediately attracted and they flashed to the Little Skeleton soldiers that were wobbling forward, smashing them into pieces.

However, another skeleton walked out in the next moment; it carried the aura that Su Ping deliberately released.

The zombies flashed again and killed it.

The skeleton soldiers crawled out and dragged the zombies out. When they reached an area where there were no zombies, Su Ping simply showed up and pulled them into deeper spaces to kill them.

Su Ping's Divine Cores were quickly increasing as he hunted.

This area of the city was gradually being cleared out.

The area where Su Ping had invaded was a semicircle that radiated toward the city. A lot of zombies were attracted and destroyed.

"Huh?"

Su Ping was suddenly alarmed when he reached the city center; he saw a zombie standing on the top of a dilapidated building not far away.

The zombie's armor was broken; it stood there quietly, as if it had been there for thousands of years.

The zombie gave off a horrifying sense of danger. Su Ping felt goosebumps all over his body. He couldn't help but narrow his eyes and quickly step back.

That zombie was definitely horrifying; it was probably an Ascendant State zombie.

Even without the Ascendant State technique, its own strength was enough to crush him instantly.

Su Ping bypassed the zombie and continued exploring other places. He didn't try to test the zombie's combat ability; it was unnecessary. It was Reality; he would have plenty of chances to fight Ascendant State creatures after he returned to the cultivation sites.

However, such fights wouldn't be meaningful; he wouldn't be able to improve himself if he were killed instantly.

Soon, he had cleared 90% of the city. What made him frown was that there was no sign of life in the city. It was a dead city; not even a small beast or a rat could be found!

Is it possible that there are no living creatures in this world? Su Ping wondered.

He left the city and moved on to other places.

After crossing the city, it was a desolate plain. In addition to the strange corpses, there were also some strange divine beasts and some abyssal insectoid corpses.

Su Ping had accumulated more than three thousand Divine Cores after hunting on the plain.

Outside of the plain was a river, but the water wasn't flowing. It was as black as ink, like frozen black ice. However, when Su Ping threw the stone, the ink-like black liquid splashed out and ripples appeared on the surface. But soon, the ripples gradually calmed down, and everything was as still as a mirror.

Su Ping used the Little Skeletons to explore the way again.

Soon, horrifying creatures crawled out of the river and attacked the Little Skeleton Soldiers. They were divine beasts of the river zone.

Su Ping lured them outside and ambushed them.

Su Ping hunted more than twenty Divine Cores in the river zone without attracting anything else. He flew across the river and kept moving forward, looking for zombies.

Time passed quickly.

Su Ping soon encountered another city after the river. Those cities were next to each other and were also dilapidated. Su Ping cleaned them up carefully too.

Su Ping didn't dare to be careless, having seen the horrifying zombies earlier. After all, he would have to rely on the Soul Divine Armor that his master had given him to survive if he alarmed an Ascendant State zombie.

The second city was even more damaged. Su Ping didn't run into too many zombies. He cleared out all the zombies after hunting about 1,800 of them. The remaining zombies were all dangerous areas. He didn't dare to approach them, so he turned to the next one.

Nine thousand Divine Cores!

By the time he cleared the fifth city, Su Ping had accumulated more than ten thousand Divine Cores.

He felt that he was hunting fast. After all, those zombies were rather tricky to deal with; he had to kill them quickly in addition to baiting them.

Su Ping was almost surrounded by the zombies. Those zombies were able to reach him in an instant, which scared him. He had tested that the zombies' teeth, nails, and other places had some kind of black aura left behind. Once the black aura came into contact with flesh and blood, it would quickly infect them.

Su Ping had been scratched during a battle, so he simply cut off the wounds.

Fortunately, he could easily regrow a severed arm with his current level of cultivation and control over his body.

"This is …"

All of a sudden, Su Ping saw a mountain in the city.

The mountain had been destroyed; its top had been smashed, as if it had been broken by violence. Several pits had been left at the foot of the mountain, and some buildings had been reduced to ruins.

For some reason, Su Ping had a weird feeling the moment he saw the mountain.

His memories seemed to overlap, and the mountain in front of his eyes felt familiar to him, as if he had seen it somewhere before.

"Huh?"

Very soon, Su Ping found a lot of zombies standing still on the top of the mountain.

He immediately asked the Little Skeleton to summon the Little Skeleton Soldiers and bait them.

Very soon, the zombies standing in the pits were lured out and killed by Su Ping.

Those zombies were all heavily wounded. Some of them had blurred faces, as if they had been smashed. Some of them had broken arms and chests, indicating that they had been through unimaginable gory battles when they were alive.

Su Ping became more and more solemn as he hunted.

Those zombies had all been gods when they were alive.

What exactly had happened in the Ruins of Divinity to make them fight so fiercely?

He remembered Green Lady's master, the Twilight Deity King. What was behind the sky that he had blocked?

The zombies on the mountain were all quite strong; almost ten of them were Star Lords. Su Ping was quite shocked; it was obvious that the mountain used to be a sacred place, which was why so many strong gods had gathered there.

After hunting a dozen zombies, Su Ping slowly approached the edge of the mountain, and the Little Skeleton Soldiers kept moving forward.

Then, a zombie suddenly dashed out.

The strange corpse arrived in an instant and squashed him to death. Then, it stood there without moving.

Su Ping found that the zombie was perfectly preserved. The other zombies had dark, wrinkled, and covered in dust; the dust had almost merged with their bodies, forming a rock helmet. However, the zombie's body was quite clean and slender; its hair was still fluttering in the breeze.

Su Ping's hair stood on end; he felt that the zombie was even more horrifying than the one he had encountered earlier.

"Retreat!"

Su Ping quickly made a decision and retreated.

All of a sudden, he saw the zombie move while he was retreating. But the zombie didn't teleport to him. Instead, it slowly turned around and faced Su Ping.

Su Ping saw the zombie's face; it was dirty and dusty, but much cleaner than the other zombies. There were two fatal holes in its throat, chest, and heart.

On his forehead, there was a divine imprint that was extremely hot and was emitting intense light.

Su Ping saw her face; it was so beautiful that it couldn't have been covered in dust; it was impeccable.

However, her face was numb and lifeless.

"Huh?"

Su Ping's heart skipped a beat. For some reason, he had a familiar feeling.

He had never seen or recognized that face before.

However, that pair of gloomy, lifeless eyes that seemed to be staring at something gave him an inexplicable sense of familiarity. It was as if he had seen her somewhere before!

"Who is she?"

A thought flashed through his mind. Had he seen him in a cultivation site before?

But he remembered that there were only a few cultivation sites he had been to. He didn't remember seeing this girl.

Even if it wasn't a cultivation site of the divine system, Su Ping hadn't seen many beautiful girls. After all, he was mainly there for the wild beasts.

As he retreated, the face and the slender figure became farther and farther away, gradually blurring. Su Ping had an illusion that she was also gazing at him.

However, this strange corpse was already dead.

If she were, she would have killed him in an instant.

Who is she?

Su Ping was at a loss. He didn't stop until the figure was no longer visible. Standing on top of a dilapidated building, he frowned and thought for a moment. He suddenly thought of the system and asked, "What is it?"

For a long time, there was no reply from the system.

Su Ping didn't know what to do. After some thought, he gave up the idea of going back to check.

It wasn't worth risking his life to go back just because of a sense of familiarity.

Strange. Given my current level and sensitivity, I can't be wrong about my senses. If I sense danger, then there must be danger. If it's a sense of familiarity, then I must have seen it somewhere before.

Su Ping frowned, feeling perplexed.

After a long time, he had no choice but to put the matter aside and finish the trial first.

After leaving the city, Su Ping went on his way.

"Your little disciple is quite dangerous. He almost ran into that zombie that's close to the Venerable State."

Lord Supreme chuckled and said to Shen Huang in the Celestial Palace.

Shen Huang was relieved to see that Su Ping had retreated. He would have been embarrassed if Su Ping had been eliminated too early. Besides, the Soul Relic Armor he gave Su Ping wouldn't have lasted long. He had to ask Mu Shen to save his disciple.

"That zombie seems to have a mind of its own," said Shen Huang with a frown.

On the screen, the zombie was still gazing in the direction where Su Ping had gone, motionless.

Mu Shen frowned and was surprised. He had refined the Ruins of Deity and suppressed the Venerable zombie inside. He had fought it and found that it was indeed sentient, but it was primitive and bloodthirsty. However, that zombie had obviously sensed Su Ping's presence and let him go.

"Strange. What's the kid's secret?" Mu Shen became curious about Su Ping.

Was there any record of a rare divine body in the Federation? How could there be such a strange thing? This little guy definitely had a big secret.

"Mu Shen, did you control that zombie and let him go on purpose?"

A Celestial chuckled at Mu Shen, but there was a hint of dissatisfaction in his voice.

Mu Shen frowned and said casually, "I don't think so."

Just three words were enough to explain his attitude and answer.

The Celestial raised his eyebrows, but he didn't say anything after thinking for a moment. After all, Mu Shen had already said so, which meant that he wasn't the one behind it.

"That kid is quite experienced in hunting. He's bold and meticulous. He's indeed a talent. He's the first Divine Core he's hunted so far. Some of the others have already suffered losses. He's quite reckless."

"Haha, are you talking about that reincarnated bird? He thinks his Destructive Phoenix Flames can destroy everything. He doesn't know that there's no cure for the Ancient Corpse Poison!"

"I actually feel like he is quite good. Even though he is a bit rash, his temperament is explosive, matching his cultivation path. Perhaps he can slaughter out a path of his own." A supreme being instead looked at him in a different light, saying indifferently.

The other Celestials smiled but didn't say anything. They couldn't be wrong; it was indeed possible. However, everyone had different tastes, so there was no need to argue.

"How are you going to compete with those kids after the trial?"

"I heard that you're going to send them to the void battlefield? That's not a place for fun. We might not be able to save them if something happens. "

Now that they were halfway through the trial, they could roughly see the level and performance of these little fellows, and they had a judgment in their hearts.

Mu Shen said casually, "How can they be trained without experiencing hardships? It's time for them to see the true face of the universe, so that they'll be in awe of the world and the universe!"

"But these little fellows, I think they're all people who kill decisively, not babies in swaddling clothes." A Supreme Martial Artist retorted.

Mu Shen said, "They're only killing wild beasts, not human enemies. The things in the void battlefield aren't wild beasts."

"Is there a difference? They're just different in appearance and energy. Anyone who's seen blood is as tough as anyone!"

"I agree with your plan, Mu Shen. The void battlefield hasn't been peaceful lately. Those kids were supposed to train there after the trial. It's a good thing for them, but we're only moving it forward. Now that the universe is about to merge, we should tighten up a lot of procedures."
