The phenomenon of "Soul Guidance Hundred Moves" was a sign mentioned in the "Treasure Record", "Returning Truth Scripture", and even the "Great Art of Ghost Enslaving". Shi Xuan was overjoyed and quickly stopped visualizing. The appearance of this sign meant that the time was ripe. Before breaking through to the next realm, the soul could not grow any further.
However, breaking through to the next realm was not that simple. Shi Xuan still had to make some preparations, especially the need to calm his mind and adjust his emotions so that both his mind and body were at their best.
For the next few days, Shi Shuan did not cultivate. He would either go hunting in the mountains with Yan Jujian or go shopping with Ding Mingde in the city and eat some delicacies. At night, he would guide the two of them on some content related to the cultivation of the soul. Shi Shuan was very satisfied with his observations of the two of them over the past few days. He could now teach them some content related to this aspect, just that he did not teach them systematically.
Yan Jujian himself was at the level of half-step into Refinement. However, there was very little about soul cultivation in the martial arts manuals, and there were no special methods to strengthen the soul. He could only accumulate it over time to have a sliver of hope of reaching the Refinement realm. Now that he had received Shi Xuan's guidance, it was like he had opened a new door. He was deep in thought all day, sometimes frowning, and sometimes jumping with joy.
On the last day of November, the sun shone brightly, making people feel waves of warmth even in the winter. Shi Xuan's condition was adjusted to the best in all aspects. After dinner, he told Yan Jujian and Ding Mingde that he was going to cultivate a spell tonight, so he would not be able to teach them later on.
Late at night, the moon was bright, and the stars were sparse. Shi Xuan closed the door and took out three specially made incense sticks. After bowing three times in the air, he inserted the incense sticks into the headboard of his bed and lit them up with the Fire Ignition Spell.
These incense sticks made by Lao Dao Xu could not only calm the mind and emotions, but also had the effect of protecting the soul. They were originally prepared for the first few times the soul left the body.
As the faint sandalwood fragrance entered his nose, Shi Xuan's peaceful mood became even more ethereal. He sat cross-legged on the bedside and carefully recalled the contents of the Treasure Record that he had read these days. After reaching the realm of Soul Projection, one could practice the Interior Five Thunder Method of Yu Yu of Shangqing, which was recorded in the Treasure Record. This was a derivative formula of the Treasure Record at this stage, but the core of it, the True Form Diagram of the Thunder God of Five Directions, was a supreme visualization method that could be mentioned in the same breath as the Breeze and Moon Illuminating True Technique.
According to the Treasure Record, after the Soul Leaving Realm and before the Gold Core Stage, the Five Thunder God True Image and the Breeze and Bright Moon Illuminating True Skill were the only two visualization methods that must be cultivated. One could not neglect of either.
The Interior Five Thunder Method of Yu Yu of the Shangqing Dynasty could only be cultivated after reaching the Soul Leaving Realm. However, the visualization of the Five Thunder God True Image could advance the breakthrough of the Soul Leaving Realm because it could greatly increase the success rate of the breakthrough. It was a supreme method that was better than the blood sacrifice of 49 living people by the Double-headed Tiger. That was why Shi Xuan looked down on the contents of the Ghost Enslaving Art.
Shi Xuan activated his body after running his Internal Qi for a full circle. Then he adjusted his Qi-circulation and entered the visualization state. This time, Shi Xuan wanted to visualize the Five Thunder God True Image.
The Thunder God of the East was called Kui. It was a gray, one-legged, hornless bull with wood in the liver. After visualizing this Thunder God, Shi Xuan felt that the liver of the body was connected to the visualization of the soul.
The Thunder God of the South was called Gong. It had a monkey face and a sharp mouth. It looked like a strong man with a bare chest and a pair of wings on its back. It was a fire in the heart. After visualizing this Thunder God, the soul could feel the body, mind, and organs.
The Thunder God of the West was called Ji. It had a boar's head and scales on its body. It had two fingers on each hand and foot. It held a red snake gnawing on it. It was a metal in the lungs. This Thunder God allowed the soul to connect with the lungs.
The Thunder God of the North called Ze, with the body of a dragon and the head of a human. After visualizing this Thunder God, the soul in the visualization state felt the kidneys. However, the connection was only faintly discernible and not clear.
The Thunder God of the Central was called Universal Lord of Thunder. It had a human's head and a human's body. It had a dignified face. There was a third eye in the middle of its forehead. It was a earth in the spleen. When the Thunder God of the Central was done visualizing, Shi Xuan's soul seemed to be suddenly enlightened. The five organs were connected to the five elements of the soul. There were thoughts coming and going. Shi Xuan suddenly understood that this was the divine thoughts mentioned in the Treasure Record. This was the first time he felt it so clearly.
The "out-of-body experience" that most people talked about was basically when the divine thoughts went out but the soul didn't. Otherwise, the soul would have been blown away by the chilly wind. How could it still be awake? After death, the soul turned into a ghost, which was another situation.
In the visualization, the five organs were connected to the soul while driving the body. Shi Xuan felt that his body and soul could breathe. With a thought, the power of the body could be transferred to the soul. It was the body returning to the five organs and the five organs returning to the soul. How could the power not be broken?
With the help of the power of the body, Shi Xuan's soul reached an unprecedented level of power in the visualization. The loosening of the Baihui acupoint became more and more intense.
Seeing that it was enough, Shi Xuan began to meditate on the steps of the out-of-body experience. His soul climbed higher and higher in the Zifu as if he was climbing a cliff. When he reached the peak, he gathered all the strength in his body and jumped down.
With a roar, Shi Xuan felt that what he saw in front of him was different from the past. The room was surrounded by fog. The left side was cold and the right side was scorching hot. From left to right, there was an evil wind blowing and from right to left, there was lightning striking. His soul actually felt like it was dissipating. At this time, the smell of sandalwood wafted over. Shi Xuan suddenly became clear-headed. The evil wind and lightning drilled into his body and disappeared without a trace.
The room was no different from before. The only difference was that behind Shi Xuan, there was Shi Xuan sitting cross-legged. Only now did Shi Xuan understand that he had successfully broken through the bottleneck and reached the out-of-body experience.
Shi Xuan lightly floated in front of his body. The smell of sandalwood in the air made his soul feel more solid. It wasn't like before, where there was a faint feeling of floating.
Shi Xuan's soul only had a human shape. With a thought, he changed back to his previous appearance. With a sigh, he still changed back to his current appearance. After carefully observing the state of his soul, Shi Xuan discovered that within his soul, there were a few ancient and mysterious inscription patterns that looked like talismans but weren't.
These inscription patterns were formed from the essence of his soul. To be precise, they were a part of his soul. After Shi Xuan carefully examined them, he discovered that each inscription pattern was a mixture of Ancient Thunder Rune and Ancient Cloud Seal. They seemed to represent some kind of divine ability.
Shi Xuan focused his mind on these inscription patterns. Some information suddenly appeared in his mind. It turned out that since these inscription patterns were the essence of his soul, the information they carried was naturally a part of him. He didn't need to think about what they were. Earlier, it was only because he wasn't used to this state that it happened.
Previously, Shi Xuan already knew that after the out-of-body experience, it was the first time that the soul directly connected with heaven and earth. According to the essence of the soul, the cultivation technique, and the laws of heaven and earth, it would produce a mystical small divine ability. Other than the two basic small divine abilities that were the same, the other small divine abilities were all different. Of course, people who cultivated the same type of cultivation technique would mostly have the same small divine abilities. However, there would still be one or two differences.
The basic small divine abilities were the small divine abilities that were produced due to the special state of the soul. Everyone was the same. They were the Yin Yang Eye (also known as the Heaven Eye) and the Qi Divination.
As for the other small divine abilities, some people had one or two. Some people had four or five. Generally speaking, most people had two to four. For example, Shi Xuan belonged to the top level. He had produced five small divine abilities. Therefore, adding the Yin Yang Eye and the Qi Divination, Shi Xuan had a total of seven inscription patterns.
Shi Xuan's five small divine abilities were: Minor Clear Wind Escape, Golden Blade Divine Wind Slash, Upper Clear Hand Lightning, Golden Dragon Armor Spell, and Qi Concealment Technique.
The Minor Clear Wind Escape was an escape technique that allowed one to transform into the clear wind. They could come and go like the wind and were extremely fast. Even when the Minor Clear Wind Escape was cultivated to the sixth level, one could ride the wind and fly in the sky, traveling more than three thousand miles in a day.
Dao Techniques (Dharma Spells) were divided into four types: Dharma Spells, Dao Techniques, Immortal Spells (Immortal Spells), and Great Dao. Each of the latter had a leap in quality compared to the former. Some Dharma Spells could reach the level of Dao Techniques or Immortal Spells because they allowed the cultivator to directly learn the essence of the spells.
These four types of Dharma Spells were divided into nine levels. When each Dharma Spell was cultivated to the ninth level and comprehended the essence of the Dharma Spell, it could be promoted. For example, when a Dharma Spell was cultivated to the ninth level and comprehended the essence of the Dharma Spell, it could be promoted to a Dao Technique.
Immortal Spells and Great Dao could only be encountered in the Primordial Spirit Realm. Without reaching the Primordial Spirit Spiritual Master and experiencing life and death situations, one could not learn Immortal Spells and Great Dao, nor could they be promoted.
In the Qi Cultivating Realm, most people used Dharma Spells. However, only when they reached the Golden Core Realm could they talk about cultivating Dharma Spells. This was because only when they reached the Golden Core Realm could they visualize and carve the inscription patterns on the soul. Once it was combined with the essence of the soul and mana, the Dharma Spells could be called Divine Abilities.
The "small" of the Innate Small Divine Ability referred to the fact that it was only combined with the essence of the soul and not the mana. After all, mana was the product of combining the Spiritual Qi of Heaven and Earth with one's own Inner Qi in the Qi Channeling Realm.
However, the Innate Small Divine Ability could also be cultivated now. After all, through the first connection with the heaven and earth, some Dharma Spells had been carved on the soul. Although it had not combined with the mana, it was just that the speed of cultivation was slightly slower, and the speed at which it could be used was slightly slower.
Therefore, the Dharma Spells that Shi Xuan knew now, other than the Innate Small Divine Ability, could only be cultivated when he reached the Golden Core Realm. Before that, they were only Level One Dharma Spells.
After reaching the Golden Core Realm and starting to cultivate Dharma Spells, because the Dharma Spells themselves were different, the cultivation time was different. Generally speaking, to cultivate to the Level Two Dharma Spells would only take a few days, to cultivate to the Level Three Dharma Spells would take nearly a month, the Level Four Dharma Spells would take more than half a year, the Level Five Dharma Spells would take more than a year, the Level Six Dharma Spells would take about four years, the Level Seven Dharma Spells would take nearly ten years, the Level Eight Dharma Spells would take twenty years, and the Level Nine Dharma Spells would take around forty years.
As for those Dharma Spells that were learned, they were either Dharma Spells or Dharma Spells that could only be found by chance. In Shi Xuan's "Treasure Record", there were a few of them. There were even Immortal Spells and Great Daos. However, those Dharma Spells could not be cultivated before reaching the Golden Core Realm. Forcefully cultivating it would only result in death. However, the few Divine Abilities that could be cultivated with the help of external objects were labeled as Dharma Spells! Moreover, one could cultivate one in the Leaving Aperture Realm!
The cultivation of the Dharma Spells here was similar to the sacrificial refinement of the restriction. It was based on one's own Dharma Spells. Every day, the Dharma Spells would be added to the Dharma Spells, and then the Dharma Spells would be nurtured. Therefore, not all of the time in a day was used to cultivate the Dharma Spells or sacrificial refinement of the restriction. Only when there was a bottleneck would one need to cultivate in seclusion for a long time.
