He had originally planned to write this yesterday because he had already finished writing the main text and the foreign stories yesterday.
However, it was already very late after I finished the side story yesterday. My procrastination was acting up, so I dragged it out for another day. I only started writing today.
Although it's a bit cliché, I still want to thank everyone for accompanying me along the way. It's because of your book that I've made it this far.
To be honest, when I typed the first word on the keyboard, I just wanted to write a story of less than two million words. I didn't expect the word count to exceed three million by the time I finished the book.
If it weren't for your subscription and votes, I don't think I would have made it this far.
Serializing is sometimes like running a marathon, especially in the second half of the journey. It's often the time when it's easiest to feel tired.
The creators of the infinite genre may feel this the most.
That's because the more exciting quests that you think of first are often mentioned at the beginning, and the more suitable quests you can find later on. In addition, it's easy for readers to get tired of the same type of quests, and the excitement of the cerebral cortex for repetitive stimulation will gradually decrease.
Different creators will have different solutions. As for me, because it was my first time trying the infinite genre theme, I was actually feeling the stones to cross the river. The method I used was probably a bit clumsy. I could only keep trying different themes and styles, hoping to bring a sense of freshness to everyone.
Of course, there was also a downside to doing this. Sometimes, too big of a change in style may not be easy to accept. For example, the Lego quest. I chose a style that was close to the Lego movie, and I found that the comments were actually quite polarized. Similarly, there was also the black sail. The problem was more serious with the black sail. It directly changed from a fast-paced short quest to a slow-paced group scene, and the feeling of discomfort might be even stronger.
I still remember that there were a lot of voices of criticism at the time, and some were even very fierce. It made me quite depressed. After all, as a creator, I worked hard to write something, but it was definitely not accepted. I felt wronged.
After that, I also made a lot of other mistakes. I spent too much time laying out the foreshadowing, causing some readers to be dissatisfied. Under their urging, I tried hard to compress the content at the back, which caused the foreshadowing to be thrown away. The hasty ending made the first half even more boring. (Fortunately, I rewrote the second half later, which made up for some of the mistakes.)
I actually quite like the chapter description function. For readers, the chapter description gives them a sense of companionship when they read, just like the bullet screen on Bilibili. It also improves the reading experience for some readers. As an author, I usually read a lot of chapters because I can get feedback at the first moment.
But I have to admit that the appearance of chapters does increase the author's creative pressure, because if the reader is dissatisfied with a paragraph, they can directly complain in the chapter. When I was writing Black Sail, I didn't even dare to look at the chapters.
But now, looking back, whether it was Black Sail, Lego, or the other dungeons, they all taught me a lot.
Serialization itself was not only a creative process, but also a process of continuous learning. Only by constantly reflecting on what went wrong could it be possible to improve and grow in the future.
So, after Black Sail, I chose the Apollo Project Training Camp, which was a relatively hardcore dungeon, to challenge myself. This dungeon also had the largest amount of information. At the same time, I learned some of the lessons from Black Sail. I incorporated the suspense elements of Werewolf into the story, trying to make the pace as tense as possible, while keeping it realistic and interesting.
Of course, I'm most grateful to the readers who stayed by my side even in the most difficult times. You're the biggest reason why I was able to persevere in writing this book. Otherwise, the immature me might have chosen to give up because of the pressure, and I wouldn't have matured in the future.
Other than the Apollo Project Training Camp, the dungeons I was most satisfied with were Bodyguard, Tokyo Drift, and Welcome to the Mannerheim Line. I actually quite like Lego, but it's just that the Lego Lego movies are so cheap … Well, hahahaha, as a creator, it's actually difficult for me to choose my true favorite, because I poured a lot of effort into each dungeon.
Looking up information is really a painful and happy thing. You probably won't know how much effort I put into figuring out the currency exchange rates and purchasing power of various countries in Black Sail. To figure out what the life of a Japanese student was like, I looked through many videos of overseas student uploaders on Bilibili. Because of this, after every dungeon, I feel like I've mastered a lot of knowledge that I don't know how to use, and I'm … quite happy.
Of course, because of my limited energy, and the fact that I'm not in the relevant industry or a historical researcher, there are bound to be omissions, and some information will become inaccurate over time. Other than that, my creative state will inevitably fluctuate over time. There will be chapters that I'm satisfied with, and there will be chapters that I'm not too satisfied with. Here, I can only thank you again for your tolerance.
I sincerely hope that this story will bring some happiness to the readers. I wish you all good health and success in your studies and work.
Finally, let's talk about my next plan.
First of all, I'll spend half a month to finish the unfinished Interstellar White Rabbit Candy. This is also what I promised when I wrote 48. That book is not really a web novel. It's more of a physical style, and it basically follows the plot. There's no leveling up content, and it's not the current mainstream relaxed style. It's normal that it didn't do well before.
But personally, I quite like that story, so I plan to finish it. In fact, only the ending is left. The original outline was just a short story. Now, I don't have to think about how to make it longer, so I can return to a short story.
I've already discussed it with the editor today, and the previously blocked chapters have finally been released. Today, I've basically been busy revising the previous chapters, mainly fixing some bugs and correcting some parts that I'm not satisfied with.
Different from 48, that book is completely free. It's also a way to repay everyone for their support. Those who are interested can go take a look.
After finishing that book, I'll write two extra chapters for the previous book, Genius Mage and Natural Idiot Hero. The main thing is that I've owed it for a long time. But it seems like the starting point of that book can no longer be seen. It's only available on QQ. I'm thinking that if it doesn't work, I'll post the extra chapters on Weibo or the reader group. After that, I'll officially start preparing for the next book. My initial plan is to try the theme of Xianxia. It should be relatively easy. I estimate that it'll be around the end of November or the beginning of December.
At that time, Weibo and the book will be notified. Lastly, I'd like to thank my two editors during the writing of this book, Yuan Zheng and Luming. I'm usually a quiet and introverted person, but the number of recommendations they gave me was no less than other authors. They even took the initiative to tell me how to change the introduction and where to make it better. I'd like to thank the few administrators of the reader group, and the operating officers of this book, Baldy Tom, Thousand Illusions, Siyyn, Chuan Minyuan. Also, I've already thanked the few Guild Masters in the extra chapters. Without you guys, 48 wouldn't have achieved what it has today.
Alright, I originally just wanted to write something to say goodbye, but I didn't expect to accidentally write it until now.
Everyone, rest early and take care of your health. I'll see you in the next book ~
