Pop!
Amidst the blinding light, some things disappeared.
And in another place, these things appeared.
"I think … I'm outside? But what is this place? "
When the Scholar regained her senses, what she saw was a vast … ocean.
However, was this really an ocean?
The black liquid was all over the Scholar's field of vision. The Scholar found himself floating on this black sea.
She tried to ask where she was, but there was nothing around her that could answer her …
On the other side …
She seemed to have gone to a strange place.
This was the hidden location of the Voidfolk city. Lin's pompom was still observing the situation outside from inside a building. This place was becoming more and more abnormal, strange solidified creatures of strange shapes and many … phenomena were constantly occurring.
Some of these phenomena were like tornadoes, some were like earthquakes, and some were like … something even more peculiar.
Because this place had become so abnormal, Lin decided to teleport the Scholar away from this place.
This teleportation mainly used the organs of Midgard. Because of the interference of the solidified Voidfolk, normal teleportation methods were not possible.
Midgard, on the other hand, could be teleported. But after the teleportation, Rin realized that she did not confirm her location properly. She sent the Scholar to a strange place. As for the Cryopteris, it was sent to a … normal place. It was near the original Voidfolk world.
Rin thought that the reason the Scholar was sent to a strange place was because of the little Core Protector in her body. It had affected the Scholar and might have interfered with the operation of the teleportation.
But there was no danger in the place she was sent to, so she decided to let her explore it for now.
Now, there was only the pompom and the bag that contained … the Ghost Whelp.
Thinking about this, Rin looked at the bulging bag next to her and sent some communication signals to the Whelp.
Rin had tried to communicate with it before, but the Whelp's response seemed to be … delayed. Occasionally, it would respond quickly, but most of the time, it would take a long time to respond.
And its answers were a little … strange. For example, when she asked if it had helped the Scholar escape, it would say, "I'm looking forward to seeing the scenery outside."
But all in all, it was a creature that could communicate. And through these interactions, Rin confirmed some things about it.
Back then, when it was in the prison scenario, it was able to escape the pursuit of the Scholars. Because it suddenly noticed the arrival of the Transpiration, it planned to let the Scholars capture it and use the Scholars to hide from the pursuit.
The Transpiration … did not come to capture the Whelp. They came mainly because of the solidified Voidfolk. The Whelp opened the connection of the solidified Voidfolk here, causing the hidden locations to be close to each other. The Transpiration wanted to take advantage of this point to come here.
They purposely let their cubs notice them, and then slowly … forced their cubs to continue trying to open the solidified connection. This way, the Transpirator's goal would be achieved, and these locations would be reunited.
As for what would happen when they were combined, no one knew. Cub also said that it had no idea what the Evaporator's plans were, but it knew the Evaporator's intentions.
And the more important question was … The reason why the cub was able to open the connection to the solidified void was related to the colored mud.
More precisely, it was related to the melted zone.
It had to do with the Whelp's ecology.
Most of the Whelps of Midgard lived in the solidified Voidfolk, but they would occasionally wander into the solidified Voidfolk.
Midgard would pay special attention to every wandering Whelp and allow them to contact it at any time. This way, they could return to the solidified Voidfolk at any time when they encountered danger.
But there was a problem. Midgard had gone into hibernation, so the Whelp wandering in the solidified Voidfolk could not contact it and could not return to the solidified Voidfolk.
So, it could only wander in the solidified Voidfolk. Because the Whelp ran too far away, it could not even find the location of the Midgard pipeline.
Until recently, when the Scholar and the others were chasing it, it suddenly realized that it had contacted Midgard.
This was mainly because of the Colored Mud and the melted zone.
The Colored Mud had been trying to help the Whelp open the passage to the solidified Voidfolk's wish. However, it was not easy to bring something of the size of the Whelp into the solidified Voidfolk.
In order to send the Whelp into the solidified Voidfolk, the Colored Mud would activate many of Midgard's internal organs to strengthen the teleportation.
At this time, it seemed that the Colored Mud had activated some of the organs that Midgard used to contact the Whelp.
Midgard used a special organ to contact the Whelp, and it did not seem to be a simple signal. So, the Whelp knew that Midgard was contacting it, and it was pleasantly surprised to find that some of the teleportation systems in Midgard's body had been activated.
After connecting, the Whelp could use these teleportation systems even if it was far away. So, it wanted to use these teleportation systems to return to the solidified Voidfolk.
But there was a problem with this teleportation system. It was a one-way teleportation.
It could only teleport things out of the solidified Voidfolk, but not into the solidified Voidfolk. This might be because the Colored Mud's teleportation was not complete.
So, the Scholar and the others found that many solidified Voidfolk appeared, but the Whelp could not return by itself.
However, the Whelp did not give up. It kept trying to adjust the teleportation system, and more solidified Voidfolk fell in.
Later, after the battle between the two sides, the Cryopteris used a fighter jet to destroy the statue that the Whelp was controlling.
Lin watched the Prison World movie and found that the statue was already in the setting. It was … the secret weapon of the Black Ruin Cult. Although it did not appear in the movie, it was created by the Evaporators and placed in the setting.
And it could move, so the Whelp used it as a 'body'.
After being destroyed by the Cryopteris, the Whelp was not hurt, but it found that it had lost its connection to Midgard.
Then, it found out that the Evaporators had arrived, so it could only pretend to be caught by the Scholar and the others.
