"Humph!" A knight with sharp eyebrows snorted: "You want to take the carriage? You killed deacon Huey! You will be in jail! "
Dean slightly raised his eyebrows and looked at him with interest: "When did a knight of the magistrate take the position of a magistrate? The case hasn't been interrogated yet but the suspect is regarded as a criminal. Is this how the magistrate solves cases? If I remember correctly, the third rule of the knight of the magistrate is to investigate seriously and be unyielding! If I may ask, does slandering others without any evidence conform to the definition of 'seriousness' and 'integrity'? "
The knight of the magistrate wanted to say something but was stopped by the knight of the magistrate.
"Mr. Dean, please cooperate with us. Otherwise, we will have to arrest you by force." The knight of the magistrate said.
Dean smiled: "I'm very cooperative, but there is no conclusive evidence. I'm a normal civilian, and also a probationary magistrate. But now someone is wantonly slandering me. I need an explanation."
"You!" The knight of the magistrate was angry.
The young knight quickly stopped him and shouted: "Don't forget the judgement armour on your body!"
The knight of the magistrate's face changed and lowered his head.
"Mr. Dean, it's his first time to perform a task. Please don't be offended." The knight of the magistrate pointed to the carriage not far away: "Please cooperate with us."
Dean faintly smiled and moved to the side. He patted the knight of the magistrate's armor: "It's a good thing to hate evil. But it's best to polish your eyes. Don't blindly bite people. Your duty is to eradicate evil and protect civilians. Don't rely on your identity to bully civilians. Do you understand?"
The knight of the magistrate clenched his fists and looked at him angrily, but didn't speak again.
Dean ignored his eyes and looked back at Barton and the other two: "You wait here for me to come back. If you encounter any trouble go to the Ryan castle and find old patriarch Fulin. Tell him that you are my friend and he will protect you."
"Dean, you …" Barton wanted to say something but stopped.
Dean smiled: "Don't worry about me. I'll come back after a cup of tea." He looked at the knight of the magistrate: "Let's go."
The young knight looked at him and waved to the people behind him: "Let's go!"
A group of people surrounded Dean and left. The pedestrians on the street stopped to look at them. Wherever there was a knight of the magistrate, there would be a vicious criminal. However, what surprised them was that the person they arrested was actually such a young teenager.
Dean sat in a carriage that had been transformed into a prison carriage. He was escorted by a knight of the magistrate to the magistrate of Terre district.
…
…
Theer Street was much livelier than before.
The neighboring magistrates also sent their priests to supervise the trial. Several streets were crowded with people, and many knights in judge's armor escorted the priests into the magistrates' court. Apart from the members of the Magistrate, many commoners and wealthy merchants who lived nearby also gathered to watch this grand event.
A carriage came slowly. It was escorted by a team of Knights of the Magistrate. It squeezed through the crowd and stopped in front of the magistrate. The young knight dismounted from his horse and went forward to open the iron chain outside the carriage: "Mr. Dean, please."
Dean tidied up his clothes and slowly got down from the carriage.
He looked around and saw carriages with the flags of the magistrate.
Dean smiled and followed the young knight down the stairs to the magistrate.
"Please!" The young knight of the Magistrate led the way.
Dean followed him through the solemn vestibule into a dimly lit hall in the back of the hall.
There were four people sitting in the hall. They were dressed differently and had handcuffed bracelets on their hands. They were sitting on one side of the long table. Some of them had gloomy expression as if they were thinking about something.
"Please cooperate." The young knight of the Magistrate took out the handcuffs and said to Dean.
Dean smiled and handed out both of his hands.
The young knight of the Magistrate said after handcuffing the bracelets: "Sit down. They are suspects in the murder case just like you."
Three of them were men and one of them was a woman. One of them was dressed extravagantly. He laughed: "The magistrate is really good. They can catch a person who hasn't even grown his hair yet as a suspect. Is it because they can't find the murderer that they want to catch a few innocent and pitiful people to be the scapegoats?"
The young knight of the Magistrate's face sank: "Shut up!"
The young knight laughed: "Shut up! I'll keep my mouth shut."
"You!" The young knight's eyes widened.
"Haha …" A chuckle sounded from outside. Three priests wearing white robes with golden embroidery came in. They were led by an old man with a kind face. He smiled and patted the young knight's shoulder: "You go out first."
The young knight of the Magistrate saw the old man and his anger subsided: "Yes." He turned and left.
The old man pulled out a chair and sat opposite to Dean and the young knight of the Magistrate. He smiled: "You should be very clear about the reason why you are here. Deacon Huey of the magistrate has been assassinated. The five of you are the most likely suspects according to the information collected."
The young man smiled and said: "What do you mean by Huey Wright? I have never seen him. I have read the newspaper. When he died, I was having a party with my friends. How could I have time to assassinate him? The people who were present at the time can testify for me!"
The old man smiled and said: "Don't worry, although you have an alibi, but according to our investigation, deacon Huey lost money in gambling three months ago. He borrowed money from you and hasn't returned it. The amount of money is not small. It is enough to anger a person and make him pay to kill you."
The young man's expression changed. He slapped the table and said, "Don't talk nonsense. Although the amount of money is quite a lot, I wouldn't go so far as to kill a deacon of the Magistrate for a bit of money. Only a madman would do that!"
The old man indifferently smiled: "Didn't you say that you haven't seen him?"
The young knight's face was burning as if he had been slapped.
