The carriage passed through a bustling street along the main road.
Dean suddenly opened the curtain and asked the coachman to stop on the side of the road.
He went to the flower shop on the side of the road and said to the beautiful blonde proprietress: "Give me a handful of the most fragrant and beautiful flowers."
The proprietress saw his white skin and extraordinary temperament. She smiled and picked out a handful of fresh roses from the flower pots in the shop. She handed it to Dudian: "One silver coin. This is the most fragrant and beautiful flower in our shop. But if you want to give it to your lover, roses are the best. Roses are thorny and can easily hurt a beautiful woman's fingers."
Dudian smiled: "Thorny flowers are the most charming."
He handed out the silver coin and returned to the carriage with the wrapped roses.
Bart, John and Barton were surprised to see Dean holding the flowers: "Dean, why did you buy flowers?"
"It's for our guests." Dean smiled.
The carriage continued to move.
A few hours later.
Dean got off the carriage with Barton and the other two. They rented a hotel room on the side of the road. After entering the room, Dean asked them to buy some gauze, disinfectant, thick fabric and scissors for first aid.
He first looked in the mirror and trimmed his hair to a normal short length. The hair on the back of his head was trimmed by the other two so that it didn't look sloppy.
After his hair was trimmed, his facial features were clearly revealed. Compared to his delicate appearance three years ago, he was thinner. His eyes were dark and deep, and his cheeks looked like they were carved by ice knives. The contours of his face were still somewhat familiar, but his expression and gaze were calmer, and his thin lips carried a hint of coldness.
Afterward, he sat on the ground and took off his new clothes and trousers. He used the thick fabric to pad the ground.
"Dean, you …"
"This …"
Barton and the other two widened their eyes when Dean took off his upper body clothes. They looked at the body of their peer in disbelief. It was not like a human body, but like a drought field, full of scars and cracks. Countless whip marks and scratches were like cobwebs wrapped around Dean's chest, back, arms, abdomen and other parts of his body.
Other than a shallow scratch on his chin, the rest of his body that was covered by his clothes was covered in scars.
The three of them were shocked. It was hard to imagine what kind of cruel punishment had caused the damage. What kind of willpower did he have to endure so much pain?
"Is this the torture you received when you were in prison?" Kroen stared blankly and suddenly felt his eyes moisten. Thinking of his previous hesitation, his heart was filled with guilt and shame.
Dean smiled: "Not really. Now I need your help. Help me pull out these two nails."
The three of them noticed the nails on Dean's shoulders. They felt goosebumps all over their bodies. Barton trembled: "How can they torture people like this? Don't they have a little bit of mercy?"
Dean picked up the pliers and handed them to Barton: "I'll give them to you. Hurry up when you pull them out."
The three of them looked ugly. Barton's hands trembled as he held the pliers: "It will be very painful to pull them out like this. Can you bear it?"
"Yes." Dean gave the three of them an encouraging look.
The three of them looked at each other and plucked up their courage. They clenched their teeth and clamped the nails. They paid attention to Dean's expression. They were afraid that they would accidentally cause more damage. Seeing Dean's calm expression, the three of them felt a little more courageous. They pinched the pliers and pulled the steel nails.
Dudian clenched his fists in pain, but his expression remained calm. But the pain was beyond his expectation. He squeezed out a voice from his throat: "Quick!"
Barton clenched his teeth and pulled.
The nails were pulled out. Blood gushed out from the wound. The color of the blood was a bit dark.
Dean's mouth twitched in pain. He asked the three of them to spray gauze and disinfectant on the wound.
The three of them were in a flurry but were barely entangled by Dean.
"It's so long!" Joseph's heart trembled as he looked at the nails in his hand. The nails were thicker and longer than his fingers. He couldn't imagine how painful it was to be nailed to the body.
Dean took a few breaths. His lips were pale but he let the three of them continue to pull out the second nail.
Ten minutes later the two nails were taken out. The three of them helped Dean to bandage the wound on his shoulder.
The three of them were exhausted. They sat on the ground and gasped for breath.
Dean leaned against the bed. He relaxed his body so that the wound on his shoulder would heal as soon as possible.
"Dean, where do you want to throw the nails?" Kroen asked Dudian after a rest.
Dean's eyes fell on the two nails: "Don't throw them away. Leave them for our guests."
Dean left the hotel with the three of them after the wound stopped bleeding. They didn't immediately go to the boundary wall. Instead, they went to a house in the middle of the nearby street. Dean picked up a stone and threw it on the door.
The door was pushed open. A short and fat woman looked around. She saw the stone on the ground. She cursed and closed the door.
Barton and the other two didn't know what was going on.
Dean didn't say anything. He called the three of them to go to the boundary wall.
Dean was stopped by a middle-aged guard as he followed the flow of people.
"Please show me your identity card." The middle-aged guard said.
Dean took out a gold coin from his arms and handed it to the guard. The middle-aged guard's face changed as he saw the gold coin. His eyes were filled with anger.
Before he could open his mouth, Dean said in a very low voice, "Is that short and fat woman your wife?"
The middle-aged guard was about to get angry when he heard Dean's words. Dean quickly took out another gold coin: "I'm sorry. I gave the wrong one. This is the right one." He put the gold coin into the guard's hand.
The middle-aged guard was silent for a moment. He slowly tightened his fingers: "Go."
Dean waved to the four of them and entered the passage.
Barton and the other two looked at Dean after they came out of the passage. Kroen asked: "Dean, how do you know that the woman is his wife? Do you know him?"
