The imperial guards rushed in, as their swords clanged against each other. The general who hadn't made up his mind to rebel saw this and his face turned pale.

Han Hongwu was shocked. He didn't expect King Lu to be prepared for this. He looked at the imperial guards and recognized a few familiar faces. His face turned solemn and he felt that this was ridiculous.

Many of these imperial guards had served under him before. How could they still be loyal to him at this point?

"Your Majesty, do you wish to perish together with us?" Han Hongwu didn't have time to think. His entire body trembled as he glared at King Lu. His hoarse voice echoed throughout the hall.

King Lu was seated on his throne. When he heard these words, he laughed, "I wish to perish together with you? You traitors think you're worthy? "

"All of you were personally groomed by me. All of you were promoted and given great power. Who would've thought that you'd betray your master for the sake of glory." King Lu stood up, killing intent flashed in his eyes. His voice was cold, "Men, kill. Kill all these traitors."

"Your Majesty, don't blame me for being impolite." Han Hongwu drew his blade as he shouted, "Convey my orders. Gather the army."

"Follow me into the palace. Kill, kill this traitor."

Han Hongwu didn't wish to do so. He understood that even if King Lu rebelled, he was still the son of the Founding Ancestor and the younger brother of the Emperor.

Not to mention that he was King Lu's man, even if he was a general of the Imperial Court, he could be defeated or captured. However, if he killed King Lu without the Emperor's orders, it might seem like a meritorious deed, but it would be a huge disaster.

What kind of disaster would it be? If he dared to kill King Lu without the Emperor's orders, would he dare to make a move against the Emperor tomorrow? In the past, those who had done such a 'meritorious deed' didn't have a good ending.

Hence, Han Hongwu wanted to force the Emperor to abdicate. This way, the relationship between the Emperor and the officials, as well as the Imperial Court, would have some leeway.

At this point, King Lu had already made it clear that he wanted to kill Han Hongwu. Han Hongwu was decisive and shouted out, "Originally, I wanted to persuade Your Majesty to forsake the darkness and join the light. After all, Your Majesty had helped me before. How could I bear to fight against you? But now that Your Majesty has betrayed me, I have no other choice. My heart hurts."

As Han Hongwu spoke, his eyes revealed killing intent. The surrounding generals all drew their weapons. When they came in, they had brought many personal guards with them. At this moment, they moved forward.

"Kill!" Inside the palace, two streams of steel collided, creating a loud sound.

"Ah!" However, as soon as the battle began, there was a roar and a flash of saber light. One of the bodyguards let out a blood-curdling scream and fell to the ground. Wherever the remaining bodyguards went, they immediately cut down the bodyguards who rushed forward!

"Hmm? Something's not right. " At that moment, Han Hongwu realized what was going on. He swept his gaze across them. As a general in the army, Han Hongwu naturally knew about King Lu's guards. He had already done some research on their strengths and abilities. Initially, he thought that he had a ninety percent chance of success. But now that he saw them, his expression changed.

"This is what happened not long ago — the Heavenly Army!" A chill ran down his spine, and Han Hongwu immediately thought of the invincible Lu army. Could it be that there were more of them now?

"Kill!" One of the bodyguards was clad in armor, and had a ferocious look on his face. A demonic shadow could be seen in his eyes, as he charged towards Han Hongwu.

Seeing that the bodyguard was charging towards him, Han Hongwu's face fell. He then revealed a look of savagery, 'Even if I'm wrong, do you really think I'm fated to do so? At most, they must have used some sort of Dao Arts or medicine to stimulate their potential. Do you think they can stop me?'

'Don't forget, I started out as a soldier because of my military skills.'

"Kill!" Han Hongwu was tall and sturdy. As soon as he moved, a gust of wind blew. He was one with his saber, and with a 'zeng' sound, sparks flew in all directions.

Han Hongwu could feel that the bodyguard was extremely strong. Although it couldn't be compared to his own, it was far stronger than any ordinary soldier.

"Go to hell." Han Hongwu shouted out as his saber flashed. With a 'chi' sound, the bodyguard's left shoulder was sliced off. The next moment, a 'chi' sound was heard as the saber pierced through his abdomen.

However, this bodyguard didn't seem to feel any pain. He took a step forward, and the saber pierced through his back. He didn't seem to care about anything else as he continued waving his saber.

This happened too quickly. Han Hongwu retreated hastily, but his right flank was shaken and hot. His skin was grazed, and some of his muscles were injured.

Han Hongwu's saber spun and whipped out, stirring the internal organs of the bodyguard. No matter how strong the bodyguard was, he couldn't do anything about it. He lost all his strength and fell to the ground.

"Ah ah ah!" Bodyguards continued to pour out from the pillars. Every time he killed one, another would pounce on him. This time, Han Hongwu wouldn't be careless. He took a step forward, and the sound of his saber whistling could be heard. The bodyguard who pounced on him swayed, and his head was split in half. Blood and white splattered everywhere.

"Kill!" The generals who were following Han Hongwu were also fighting fiercely.

"Han Jun's men are strange." One of the generals looked around, his face was gloomy as he slashed out with his saber. Initially, the general didn't think that King Lu's bodyguards would be able to defend against him. However, he realized that these bodyguards weren't afraid of death at all.

"Ah!" Han Hongwu's bodyguard's neck was sliced off by the bodyguard's saber. King Lu's bodyguard was like a wild beast as he opened his mouth and bit down viciously on the bodyguard's neck.

"This isn't right. Quick, kill King Lu!" Seeing the group of bodyguards dancing around him, Han Hongwu knew that something was wrong. His face was flushed red as he shouted out.

At this point, he didn't hold back any longer. He attacked with all his might. The flash of his saber could be seen as the two bodyguards in front of him fell to the ground, their bodies twitching uncontrollably. Han Hongwu stomped on the ground and sprang up, charging towards King Lu to kill him.

Within the main hall, the sounds of battle shook the heavens. King Lu had regained his composure and calmed down. It was as though he was watching a show. He held a teacup in his hands, his face was like jade, and his expression was calm. His eyes were like ink as he watched the battle unfold.

Han Hongwu's martial arts were extremely powerful. At this point, he had killed several people. He gripped his saber tightly and charged forward. Even though he was a few feet away, he could smell the stench of blood. This was the killing intent that he had accumulated after killing so many people on the battlefield.

"Traitor, you dare?" Eunuch Liao stood beside King Lu. Seeing that Han Hongwu was charging towards him, he wanted to stop him. King Lu clapped his hands, and several eunuchs turned around and charged forward.

"Kill the traitor." These eunuchs were all wielding swords. Their sword techniques were extremely sinister and cunning. Although they weren't King Lu's opponent individually, when they joined forces, they were able to stop King Lu.

Eunuch Liao watched as the battle unfolded before him. He then looked at the changes in the eunuchs and guards, and thought of King Lu.

'These looks. They look exactly like the valiant soldiers from before. '

'Will His Majesty become like this as well? 'Eunuch Liao thought to himself as his face turned gloomy. It was as though he was trying to read King Lu's expression.

"What are you looking at?" King Lu raised his head and asked as he felt eunuch Liao's gaze on him.

"Gulp." Eunuch Liao felt King Lu's gaze on him as he swallowed his saliva. His voice trembled as he asked, "Your Majesty, are you alright?"

"Of course I'm fine." King Lu replied. He then understood what was going on and laughed, "I'm still me. Power hasn't changed me. It's just that I have the knowledge and power to change the world."

"Haha!" King Lu laughed out as his laughter reverberated throughout the entire hall. Han Hongwu was able to kill the frenzied guards if they fought one on one. But now that he was surrounded by several eunuchs, he wasn't able to take them down.

"Pu, chi."

The sound of blood splattering could be heard as the sound of a blade slicing through flesh could be heard. Seeing an opening, Han Hongwu chopped down on one of the eunuchs' hands. The eunuchs didn't seem to feel any pain at all. In a flash, he pounced on Han Hongwu, as though he wasn't afraid of death at all.

"Something's not right here. Quick, let's retreat."

"Let's go out of the palace and gather the army. Let's kill all these demons." Han Hongwu shouted out as his blade glowed brightly.

"Ugh..." Two of the eunuchs cried out as they fell to the ground, blood splattering everywhere.

Han Hongwu tore open an opening and tried to break out of the encirclement. He then turned to look at King Lu, only to see King Lu sitting calmly on his chair with a cold smile on his face. Han Hongwu shuddered and didn't even turn his head as he continued to kill his way out.

'As long as I can kill my way out of the palace, no matter how strange you are, King Lu, I will be able to kill you. 'Han Hongwu thought to himself as he continued to kill his way out.

Actually, Han Hongwu had long since prepared himself for this. He had already taken control of most of the imperial guards and had even brought his personal guards along with him. However, things were different now. The imperial guards were all in a frenzy, and his personal guards couldn't hold out any longer. Even some of his subordinates had died. As long as he could escape from the palace, the army would be able to crush him.

Han Hongwu charged out and shouted, "Hold on, I will gather the army to save you."

As he spoke, he turned around and left.

"Han Jun Men, Han Jun Men." These people saw Han Hongwu escaping and their faces fell. The imperial guards had experience and were now holding him back.

"Your Majesty, Han Hongwu has escaped. What should we do?"

"Hm, he won't be able to escape." King Lu spoke as he stood up and walked out.

At the bottom of the stairs, Han Hongwu and his personal guards had gathered together and were charging out. The imperial guards continued to charge forward to block their path, as both sides fought fiercely.

In just a few moments, the personal guards had been turned into corpses.

"Damn it, there's something wrong with these imperial guards. There are at least three times as many of them as usual." Han Hongwu's face sank as he looked at the empty space in front of him. He then saw that he had already killed his way into the palace. The city gates were already open, and his personal guards were leading horses over, "Quick, open the gates, get on the horses!"

Han Hongwu heaved a sigh of relief as he leaped onto the horse. Just as he leaped up, he heard a "pu" sound as a sharp whistling sound pierced through the air. Han Hongwu dodged to the side before he felt his entire body go numb. Fresh blood spurted out as he fell to the ground.

"A godly archer?" Han Hongwu fell to the ground as he looked up. He saw King Lu raising his bow and looking at him as though he was looking at a dead man.

"Han Jun Men!" The personal guards who were guarding the city gates shouted out in shock. They then saw King Lu walking over under the protection of his imperial guards. He then ordered coldly, "Kill them all."

"Kill!" The imperial guards charged forward as these personal guards tried to escape. However, the imperial guards caught up to them and killed them one by one. The entire street was filled with the sounds of killing.

King Lu walked over to Han Hongwu and looked at the dying Han Hongwu. He was extremely disappointed, "Han Hongwu, you were originally ostracized and were removed from your position. I saved you and promoted you multiple times. Who would've thought that you would have the heart of a wolf and lungs of a dog. You even dared to betray me. You deserve to be killed."

King Lu spoke as he unsheathed his sword. Han Hongwu wasn't dead yet as he glared at King Lu, "Haha, I shall wait for you in the underworld."

"I'm a traitor, aren't you one as well?"

"Let's see how you're going to face your ancestors."

"Die!" These words pierced King Lu's sore spot. King Lu's face turned green as he slashed down with his sword. At that point, a head flew off and rolled on the ground. Fresh blood splattered everywhere.

Seeing that King Lu was done, Eunuch Liao bowed, "Your Majesty, now that Han Hongwu is dead, and these traitors have been killed as well. What shall we do next?"

He then handed his sword over to the imperial guard. King Lu's eyes gleamed as he looked up at the sky. He then laughed, "Take control of the army and kill all these traitors."
