Chapter 1434

Report

Originally, I had planned to rest for a while and write about this tomorrow. However, perhaps because of the sensitive timing, many of my friends sent me all sorts of messages and private messages to ask me about it. Just as I was about to take a good afternoon nap and relax from the excitement of the ending, my phone kept ringing. I … Can't I even sleep?

I had mentioned this a long time ago, but I couldn't make an accurate estimate at the time, so I just gave a general estimate of May or June. I had to leave enough room for flexibility, right? If it wasn't for the epidemic, I would have gone on a trip to Spain in a few days.

Also, my contract was signed at the end of 2016, and it would end at the beginning of 2022. Now, I only have one book left, and it's about three million words long. The new book will definitely be at the beginning.

After talking about something else, I returned to the book.

At the end of the seventh book, I chose a more logical development, which resulted in the plot speeding up a lot, and I was unable to do a fuller and more detailed development. However, from the first chapter of the eighth book onwards, everything was under my control. I had already thought about what to write on every page, where to turn, and how to end the story. There was no sudden acceleration of the plot, and there was no problem of cutting off many side quests.

I had already thought about this ending before I started the book. After everyone in the Tarot experienced all sorts of passivity, anticipation, confusion, and hesitation, they finally left their comfort zone and faced the World and all sorts of difficulties. Meanwhile, Klein and Aztec completed a reincarnation of their characters.

In the end, the contrast between the strangeness and innocence, the darkness and the light, the darkness and the new life, was a strange scene that was a little bit Cthulhu and a little bit warm. At the same time, it pointed out that Klein had already started to wake up, and the book wouldn't end here.

As for the foreshadowing of the five gold coins, the experiences of everyone in the Tarot, and other things that didn't involve the main plot of this book, they were naturally left for the second book. I had already made it so obvious that the last part was both the ending and the prelude.

Hmm, the second book was the period between Little Frank's hibernation or earlier and his awakening.

Why did I consider a second book back then? Firstly, I felt that the setting was too vast and that there was too much to write about. If I were to stuff all of it into a book, it would definitely not be able to differentiate between the primary and secondary. The side quests would be long, messy, and boring. Secondly, the growth curve of the members of the Tarot Club wouldn't be able to keep up with Klein. If I were to give them too many side quests and more stories, allowing them to improve in a reasonable manner, it would impact the structure of the main storyline. Similarly, there would be the problem of not being able to differentiate between the primary and secondary. If I didn't give them anything and allowed them to grow, they would be useful at critical moments.

Therefore, after weighing the pros and cons, I decided to at least write Mysteries 2. In this way, the plot of this book could go smoothly, and there was no need to travel all over the World. The Tarot could only start the first half of their lives, complete their transformation and growth, and leave their comfort zone to play out a more exciting life and story in the second book.

To me, this was also a challenge. How could I bring everyone back into this world after a few years? How could I allow the new readers to continue reading without any restrictions even though they had never read Mystery 1?

I didn't have the experience of writing a book series, and I didn't have the experience of writing a second book under the same World perspective. On one hand, I didn't consider this problem when I designed the previous books, and there wasn't enough space to expand. On the other hand, I was afraid of repeating the old pattern, and I couldn't break through it. However, this kind of fear was also a kind of limitation. I felt that since I had found my own writing method, I could try to challenge it.

As I said before, my slogan, no, my motto, is:

"Never satisfied, always challenging.

For the second book, I haven't thought of the main character and how to cut into it, but some scenes have already appeared in my mind.

It was the various attempts of the Tarot people to awaken Little Ke, the five gold coins, the iron cigar case representing different people, and the hidden lines formed by them.

Perhaps he would meet a hunter who would light a cigarette and talk about the past. Perhaps he would occasionally catch a glimpse of half a beautiful face. Perhaps he would hear news of the discovery of a new continent from overseas. Perhaps he would make contact with the kings of the sea. Perhaps he would explore the few undiscovered treasures on the sea. Perhaps he would become swollen with all kinds of "transmigrators" and "infiltrators."

As for the specific style, I will decide when the time comes. In short, the setting left a lot of space for the second book, and I didn't have to worry about not having anything to write about.

As for the apocalypse, it's definitely not something that can be resolved in one book. In order to make the apocalypse of the second book more oppressive, I decided to give Mother an Epic enhancement. In short, why does a boar get pregnant, why does a man have a protruding belly, why does a stone give birth to a child? Behind all of this is the distortion of human nature or the loss of morals … As for the enhancement, it will probably be placed in the third book related to the Western Continent, but I might not necessarily write it.

Serious face. I actually didn't make any settings related to the Western Continent. All I did was leave an interface. With the remaining seven sefirot and a small number of Beyonder characteristics that don't contain a Sequence 1 or Uniqueness, what kind of World and upgrade system will be constructed?

I've recently confirmed my thoughts and know what kind of settings I want to make. Hehe.

Yes, an orthodox system that uses sefirot as its core, an unorthodox system that uses Beyonder characteristics as its foundation, and the Lower Nine Paths with their own parts.

The former is based on the Daoist idea of "receiving seals." Yes, receiving seals means that you have obtained the recognition of the Heavenly Courts and become a member of this system. You can then happily summon gods like Liuding and Liujia to help you in battle. As for unorthodox Daoists who haven't received seals, if you wish to summon Liuding and Liujia, why would they care about you? Therefore, in talismans, talismans and seals are separated. In other words, receiving seals is within the system. Then, if the Heavenly Courts and Pure Lands are changed to sefirot, the entire setting becomes lively and strange.

Writing up to this point, I'm hungry. My wife is urging me to go out. After all, I decided to write it at the last minute. Yes, that's all for now. I'll continue with this book ending speech tomorrow. I'll talk about my thoughts and gains and losses in creating Mysteries, as well as my creative methodology.

Also, thank you to the big boss of Wutong for your tip. I was shocked when I opened Qidian just now. Also, I'll first serialize a 20,000-30,000-word side story here at regular intervals. Then, I'll write side stories at irregular intervals. I didn't intend to write them at first, but now I realize that there are many things that don't involve the second book but can be written. For example, Lil Ke's dream, some stories from the Fourth Epoch, and so on.

As for why the Celestial Venerate's plans were disrupted, I've already given some hints.

Arrodes came out from the Chaos Sea. Why does it have to follow Klein? Why does Klein bring it along when he's asleep?

Also, the physical book has been remade. This time, the cover is what I like. The content has only changed some internet vocabulary and words that aren't in dictionaries. For example, "Him. For the specific purchase address, you can go to my Weibo, The Squid That Loves To Lurk. In the future, you can follow my side stories at irregular intervals."

Yes, yes, I'll continue with the book ending speech tomorrow.
