At first, I thought I would have to cancel this chapter, but I still finished it.
From the beginning of December to the beginning of January, I was very busy. Every week, I didn't even have a day off. I used it to save up chapters, which were quickly used up.
The Annual Gala ended last night. After that, I didn't have anything to do outside. It was mostly things that had been delayed for a long time and needed feedback. These could all be solved online or over the phone.
Because I took the opportunity to write a chapter yesterday and had a draft, I thought that everything would return to normal today and I could finally breathe a sigh of relief. But I was too naive.
My plan was to have supper with some people after the Annual Gala ended. I would go back to sleep at around 1 AM. Today, I would wake up half an hour earlier, at 8: 30 AM. Then, I would go to the hotel buffet and have breakfast. Then, I would come back to think about the plot and write. I would try to finish writing before 12 AM, or more than half of it. Then, I would check out of the hotel, have lunch, go to the high-speed rail station, and go home. On the way, I would use my phone to complete or fix the remaining chapters.
The successful part of this plan was to check out of the hotel, go to the high-speed rail station, go home, and have supper, breakfast, and lunch.
Yeah, I ate supper until 1: 30 AM. After I washed up, it was around 2 AM. I thought that I could sleep for another six and a half hours. In the end, at 5 AM, the hotel suddenly gave me a wake-up call.
A wake-up call? I woke up from my dream and almost had a heart attack.
Although my English wasn't good, I could tell that it was a wake-up call. I wanted to curse, but I held it in. I unplugged the phone and went to sleep while I was still sleepy.
Did it end just like that? No. A minute later, when I was about to fall asleep, the phone rang again.
Only then did I realize that there was a phone on the desk. I hurried over.
On the way over, the phone stopped, then rang again. It was the third wake-up call. I was wide awake. I pressed "0" and called back to scold the caller. Then, I picked up my phone and asked the writers in the Annual Gala about what had happened.
Then, the group came alive. Many people replied that they had received a wake-up call. They were going crazy.
Later on, they found out that the hotel's front desk had confused Yuewen's team with another team. That team had to wake up early or leave for an event. Then, the hotel called most of Yuewen's writers' rooms to provide a wake-up call.
I'm the kind of person who finds it hard to fall asleep once I'm completely awake. My sleep quality is terrible, and I tossed and turned in bed for more than 2 hours. I really can't fall asleep. I thought about how I still have to write, so I woke up before 8. After resting for a while, I went downstairs to eat breakfast. When I came back, I started thinking about the plot, but my brain felt like it was filled with glue. I couldn't think at all.
Just like that, I couldn't sleep, and I couldn't think of anything. I stayed up until 11. Only then did I recover a little. I organized the plot, but I only wrote 500 words before I had to check out of the hotel. I started feeling sleepy on the way, so I slept on the train. I only woke up when I reached home. Seeing that it was almost time, I subconsciously wanted to ask for leave. But after thinking about it, I decided that I could try writing as much as I could. In the end, my condition wasn't bad. Not only did I finish writing, I even had time to edit and write a single chapter.
However, I probably won't be able to write tonight. I'm a little sleepy now, so I won't have time to save any chapters. Don't be surprised if I have to update tomorrow. Even if it's a few minutes late, don't worry.
Finally, I'd like to add something off topic. The first time I fought for the monthly votes was when I was in the Arcana Club. Back then, it was Obiye. I was young and impulsive. I said some weird things, and I regretted it afterwards. Then, I set a rule for myself. When I post a single chapter, I'll only talk about myself and not others.
I did it most of the time, and I hope that everyone will learn from me (laughing). Regardless of whether it's in this chapter or in the book review section, I'll only talk about the mysteries, and not other people or other books.
Of course, I'm excluding One Life, Arcana Club, Martial Arts, Doom, Crow, and Horse Gang.
