Su Zimo put away the storage bags of Liang Heng and the others.
Although Cang Lang and the other four were Perfected Jin Dan when they were alive, they were already dead and their bodies were weak.
Su Zimo conjured a ball of demonic fire on his fingertip and burned the five corpses to ashes in the blink of an eye without leaving a single trace.
After settling that, Su Zimo returned to his residence.
He wanted to break through in this courtyard.
Opportunities were important for breaking through major cultivation realms.
This was a feeling of one's mental state and was extremely mysterious, akin to a sudden impulse.
If Su Zimo were to return to Misty Peak after a long journey, there was a high chance that he would miss out on such a precious opportunity.
Furthermore, he truly could not think of a second place that was more meaningful than this place for his breakthrough.
Eight years ago, in this inconspicuous courtyard, Su Zimo cultivated the Mystic Classic of the Twelve Demon Kings of the Great Wilderness under this peach blossom tree. He comprehended the Dao overnight and began his cultivation journey.
In his heart, this place was more meaningful than immortal mountains and blessed grotto-heavens!
Forming a core was no small matter and he could not be disturbed at all.
Su Zimo did not dare to be careless and began setting up formations.
Without sleeping or resting, he set up many formations around his residence carefully. Not only were there supplementary formations, there were also maze formations, trap formations, illusion formations and killing formations!
They were all connected and interlocked.
Three days later, the formations were set up.
"Activate!"
Su Zimo hollered softly and a bedazzling light shone around his residence as countless formation patterns appeared in a mysterious manner.
The outermost layer was an illusion formation.
He created a fake residence that looked no different from before from the outside and would not attract the attention of passersby.
However, in reality, the runes within the illusion formation were densely packed and shone brightly as though it was daytime!
Su Zimo arrived beneath the peach blossom tree and assumed a lotus position, closing his eyes to rest.
For the past three days, he had not slept or rested. Setting up such a massive formation exhausted quite a bit of his mental energy as well.
Su Zimo had to adjust to his optimal state.
After an unknown period of time, Su Zimo gradually entered a meditative state. Slapping his storage bag, millions of superior-grade spirit stones poured out and piled up into small mountains!
In the capital of Great Zhou, Su Zimo had earned way too many spirit stones with Mo Spirit Weapon Workshop and it was enough for him to form his core.
Rumble!
The Spiritual Sea in his Dantian surged with raging waves. Divine light shot out in all directions, and spiritual energy soared into the sky.
An endless stream of Spirit Qi flowed through the surrounding piles of Spirit Stones and into Su Zimo's body.
Nine spirit meridians appeared and flickered continuously. They were like nine ancient rivers that surged and flowed into his Dantian's Spirit Sea.
His Spirit Sea was like a bottomless pit, absorbing the surrounding spirit energy crazily. It formed a gigantic vortex with a terrifying momentum, condensing and compressing continuously!
The Dao of alchemy was the most important watershed on the path of cultivation.
Be it Demonic Cultivation or Immortal Cultivation, they had to take this step!
From Qi Condensation to Foundation Establishment to Jin Dan, cultivators had to go through the process of Qi Refinement, liquefying spirit qi and finally condensing it into a solid Jin Dan.
From the gaseous state to the liquid state and finally to the solid state – every single transformation was a qualitative leap.
From this, it could be seen that the essence of Jin Dan had yet to break away from spirit qi. It was merely a gradual transformation of spirit qi.
Almost all cultivators were aware of how this process evolved.
It was nothing more than continuous refinement, condensation and compression. With the passage of time, the original spirit qi would eventually be converted into a solid Jin Dan and the transformation would be completed.
However, even though there were many cultivators throughout history, only one in ten thousand could form a core.
What was the reason?
The entire process was so simple and clear – why would anyone fail?
It was easy to understand why one's strength would naturally increase as their spirit qi continued to sublimate and their cultivation increased.
However, why would one's lifespan increase by hundreds of years after forming a core?
In reality, the true secret of the Dao of alchemy was contained within – the comprehension of life!
If one wanted to truly form a core, they would have to comprehend the true meaning of the Dao of alchemy. Only then would they be able to break free from the shackles of Heaven and Earth and increase their lifespan!
The reason why one's lifespan would increase was because of the comprehension of one's cultivation realm.
The Prajna mentioned by the Buddhists meant to comprehend the Dao, cultivate, break free from life and death and transcend mortality. That was a type of comprehension of one's cultivation realm and was truly supreme wisdom.
What was the true meaning of Jin Dan?
Everything in the world had two sides to it.
It was the same for life.
A motionless rock was not alive; neither was a river that flowed endlessly.
Only by alternating between movement and stillness could one display the most natural and most fundamental state of life.
The existence of life was made up of movement and stillness.
Movement was a way to manifest life while stillness was a way to nourish life.
The formation of Jin Dan was, in fact, a process of creating something out of nothing and going from movement to stillness.
Initially, there was no spirit qi in one's body. However, after years of cultivation, a trace of spirit qi was produced and gradually grew, turning into a more dynamic liquid spirit energy that flowed through all eight meridians.
Eventually, a hundred rivers entered the sea and returned to the dantian, condensing into a motionless Jin Dan.
When the conditions were right, success would follow naturally.
At this moment, life would undergo an unprecedented transformation and sublimation. The combination of movement and stillness would condense into a Jin Dan that nourished life and extended one's lifespan.
Life itself was something that came from nothing.
From the spirit that came to the earth to the stillness of eternal slumber.
Creating something out of nothing and going from movement to stillness was a way to interpret life.
Forming a core was, in fact, touching upon the mysteries of life and increasing one's lifespan from then on.
That was the true meaning of the Dao of alchemy!
Once a Jin Dan was swallowed, one would know that one's fate was not in the hands of the heavens!
That was the most famous mnemonic of the Dao of alchemy and also contained the true meaning of the Dao of alchemy.
For Foundation Establishment Cultivators, as long as they unlocked five spirit meridians, they would have an 80% chance of forming a Jin Dan.
Even so, some people would still fail.
It was not because they failed to form a Jin Dan, but because they failed to comprehend the true meaning of the Dao of alchemy.
Through the ages, generations after generations of predecessors passed down their experiences and comprehensions of breaking through to the Jin Dan realm.
However, the Dao was illusory and could not be explained, touched or seen. Even if one knew what was going on, it was useless.
One could only transcend and transform from a cocoon into a butterfly through true comprehension!
As time passed by, Su Zimo's aura turned increasingly terrifying and his black hair swayed gently without any wind.
His lifespan was increasing continuously!
200 years …
300 years …
500 years!
Su Zimo's comprehension of the Dao of alchemy was not only affecting himself, it was also affecting the other life in the courtyard subtly!
Behind him, the peach blossom tree was enveloped by an invisible Dao and grew significantly. Its trunk thickened and its branches extended.
One after another, pink flower buds bloomed silently in the blink of an eye.
Petals fell and scattered around Su Zimo.
In the blink of an eye, new petals grew where the petals fell. The entire process was dreamlike and mysterious.
The peach blossom tree swayed gently.
If Su Zimo opened his eyes right now, he would definitely be able to sense that the peach blossom tree was exuding a joyous emotion!
It was sentient!
