Soulsqn could no longer remember how many years she had lived.
For as long as she could remember, she had always been the queen of the Soulsqn race. Not only did she have outstanding abilities, but she was also the only Soulsqn in the race who had gender awareness. She was regarded as the hope of the entire race. With her "real" power, she was almost invincible. She had led her race to change their skins many times, but she had never encountered a real battle that could really hurt them.
That was until she met Lin Sanjiu.
Her smooth sailing days came to an abrupt end.
Soulsqn did not expect that every time she felt that she had survived a painful ordeal, she would be met with an even more painful ordeal. This time, she had lost almost half of her body. When Soulsqn was pinned to the ground, she did not even have the strength to resist.
Not far away, the tall woman looked at Soulsqn and frowned, "Why are you so useless?"
Soulsqn let out a low and weak growl. Lin Sanjiu turned her head away after she said that. She did not look at Soulsqn anymore. She stared at the people around her and asked slowly, "Who are you people?"
More than a dozen people had woken up one after another. Their faces were scattered among the bodies on the ground. They stared at Lin Sanjiu without saying a word.
The first naked person who spoke was the one closest to Lin Sanjiu. She looked at Lin Sanjiu and exchanged glances with the people around her. No one said anything, but Lin Sanjiu had a strong feeling that these people were communicating with each other.
"Speak!" Lin Sanjiu ordered and strode toward the woman not far away. She was already holding her [Tornado Whip] in her hand. Lin Sanjiu's voice drew the woman's attention back. She looked at Lin Sanjiu's hand for a moment before she suddenly tilted her head back and fell to the ground with a plop.
Lin Sanjiu was taken aback. She hurried to catch up with the woman. When she realized that the woman's eyes were wide open, she realized that she was still conscious. Before she had the time to wonder what was going on, she saw a huge black shadow from the corner of her eyes. It was twisting in midair and pouncing toward her. Lin Sanjiu's heart skipped a beat. She took a few steps back and lashed out with her whip.
Soulsqn shrieked in agony as she was flung out of the hall. Since there were no obstacles in her way, she did not slow down at all. She smashed into the wall at the other end of the hall, and the echoes of her crash reverberated in the air.
However, in that short moment, the floor beneath the dozen of people suddenly split open, and the men and women who had just woken up instantly fell into it. It was as if the air did not even have time to flow, and the silver and glossy metal floor had once again closed up.
When Lin Sanjiu rushed to the scene, she could only hear her own footsteps and her breathing. Silence enveloped the hall again. It was as if she was the only person in the room.
"What the hell is going on?" Lin Sanjiu couldn't help cursing. She punched the floor.
The metallic floor seemed to be made of the same material as the wall. Lin Sanjiu punched the floor, but the force behind her punch was reduced by half. The rest of the force was reflected back at her, causing her joints to wobble in pain.
What would happen if she used her [Mosaic Censorship] to blast the floor open?
What would happen next?
Lin Sanjiu stared at the metallic floor and thought about it for a long time. In the end, she decided not to do anything. She decided to save this method for when she had no other choice.
However, if she did that, she would be back to square one. Lin Sanjiu sighed. She looked at the motionless naked bodies around her. They seemed to be in a deep sleep. She pushed them a few more times, but other than making their skin sway a few times, there was no effect on them.
Why were these people captured? Was it really as Soulsqn said? Was it for some other creature to wear?
When Lin Sanjiu thought of this, she suddenly froze.
Ever since she sent Soulsqn flying, the hall had become a little too quiet.
Lin Sanjiu did not hear Soulsqn cursing or cry out in pain when she threw her away.
Slowly, she turned her head away.
The direction where Soulsqn flew to was empty. There was nothing but a pile of human bodies.
For a moment, Lin Sanjiu felt that Soulsqn must have snuck into one of the human bodies when she wasn't paying attention. However, when she approached the wall again, she did not see any of the sleeping people getting up.
Lin Sanjiu tried to call out to Soulsqn, but there was no response other than her own voice. Soulsqn had disappeared in the blink of an eye.
"Could it be that another part of the floor opened up and Soulsqn fell in like those people?"
"That's not right."
Lin Sanjiu swept her gaze across the hall and rejected that thought. There were so many people lying on the floor around her. When she walked, she had to step on the space between the heads and shoulders to avoid tripping over them. If Soulsqn had fallen through the opening in the floor, the people here would have fallen together with her.
Lin Sanjiu looked around doubtfully and finally fixed her gaze on the wall.
To be more precise, she looked at the round hole in the wall.
The sticky liquid on Soulsqn's body was still on the wall. It reflected the light as if it had been licked by a large tongue. The sticky liquid broke off at the edge of the hole and formed a sticky water droplet. Then, the water droplet elongated and dripped downward.
Lin Sanjiu extended her finger and touched the hole. As expected, she felt a slippery liquid. Lin Sanjiu took out her [Ability Polishing Agent] to illuminate the hole. She cast her gaze into the hole. Vaguely, she saw a flesh-red shadow at the end of the hole. It was motionless. It looked like Soulsqn's skin, but she couldn't tell.
Soulsqn's body had been scraped off a few times. Although it wasn't impossible for Soulsqn to crawl into the head-sized hole, she was afraid that she would suffer a lot.
Lin Sanjiu thought for a while and finally made up her mind. She placed her hands on both sides of the hole.
Even though it was a material that she had never seen before, it couldn't escape the laws of her Evolved Ability. Crack! The metal wall turned into dust between her palms. Lin Sanjiu quickly turned her head and shielded her eyes, but the metal dust still hit her face.
The hole seemed to have been torn open by someone, and it suddenly widened quite a bit. She spat out the dust in her mouth and tried to push half of her body into the hole. She didn't destroy much of the wall, so she had no choice but to use her [Mosaic Censorship] again. As the dust scattered everywhere, she continued to move deeper into the hole.
Compared to the entire wall, the hole she made was really small. Therefore, Lin Sanjiu didn't have to worry about the wall collapsing. However, the flesh-red shadow she saw outside the hole seemed to have exploded along with the wall. She crawled for a long time, but she couldn't find the thing that looked like Soulsqn's skin.
The light coming from the hall behind her was getting weaker and weaker.
With every step she took, the light in the tunnel dimmed a little. After she had smashed the tunnel about twenty times, Lin Sanjiu even had the illusion that she was crawling deeper and deeper into hell.
Her entire body had long been covered in a thick layer of metal powder. Every time she blinked, clusters of powder would fall from her eyelashes. In the beginning, Lin Sanjiu would try to brush off the debris on her body. However, she soon became too lazy to even do that. She had been moving forward in a sea of debris that was getting thicker and thicker. No matter how hard she tried to clean it, it would stick to her body again.
Numbly, Lin Sanjiu encountered another narrow tunnel. She held her breath, closed her eyes, and placed her hands on the wall.
Just like before, Lin Sanjiu choked and coughed twice. After the dust settled, Lin Sanjiu crawled forward on all fours.
