Chapter 10

Report

It was just a second of pause, but Tang Ling felt the temperature of death mixed with fear.

If he had a choice, jumping down from a high place would be a pleasant thing to do instead.

"Come in!" Quark roared angrily in front of the door. Was this kid who had never seen the world frightened?

Tang Ling lowered his head and dared not think about anything about the Fifth Camp's door anymore. Even though he knew this place would be hell, the moment he arrived was still suffocating.

He pulled his grandmother and sister and ran quickly towards Quark's shop. Clatter clatter clatter sounded behind him as if thousands of soldiers and horses were marching.

This was the only exit of the Fifth Camp. At least, those without an escape route could only go through this iron door if they wanted to get out of the Fifth Camp.

The sorrow of having nowhere to run finally erupted.

The gatekeeper's cries finally spread the news out successfully.

This was just the first batch of people that surged over due to the panic.

Compared to being trapped and waiting for death, people would always subconsciously search for hope and also hope that they could be the lucky ones who could escape from the chaos.

"Hurry up!" The appearance of the crowd made a trace of panic flash across Quark's eyes. He started to urge Tang Ling.

No one was an idiot. Someone would definitely notice Tang Ling's unusual behavior as he ran in front.

If the crowd surged in, his escape plan would be ruined.

As it turned out, bad guesses always came true especially fast. As expected, someone shouted, "Quark! Look at Quark! He's standing there! He's powerful! He has a way!"

His words were like a flame of hope that was ignited in the crowd. Everyone boiled over and their footsteps became faster as they chased after Tang Ling.

The short distance was Tang Ling's only advantage at the moment. When he ran to Quark's door, he was grabbed by Quark and pulled into the house.

"Troublesome rats!" Quark grumbled and slammed the door shut. However, how long could such an iron door stop the crazy people for?

Quark felt that something was wrong. He turned around and took out an iron rod, pinning it on the door, and shouted at Tang Ling, "Help! Do you want us to be destroyed?!"

The footsteps outside the door, the clashing of the zombies, the fearful cries of the people, and the excited roars of the zombies. There was nothing more chaotic than this.

Putting his sister down, Tang Ling's heart was in a mess. He pushed and pulled anything that was heavy and started to pile it up beside the door.

The feeling was worse than being an executioner. The helplessness of not having a greater power made him thirst for power.

If the tragedy never happened again …

Tang Ling dared not assume such a possibility. When a heavy container was dragged to the door with a bang, the first person who ran to Quark's door appeared. Through the window frame of the iron door, he screamed with all his might, "Let me in! I promise I'm the only one!"

As he spoke, he waved his fists and hit the iron door with all his might. His blond hair stuck to his scalp because of his sweat. His fists were hit by the iron door and were dripping with blood, but he didn't notice it at all.

"Get lost!" A black face appeared behind the man, mercilessly punching the man in front of him in the face and dragging him away. Who wouldn't want to be closer to hope?

One after another, crowds began to appear.

Along with a loud 'clang', a deafening sound reverberated in the dim underground tunnel.

"Ah!"

"Motherf * cker, I don't want to die!"

His fear finally reached its peak at that moment. Tang Ling's heart turned cold as the zombies smashed open the iron door. Hell had descended on the Fifth Camp.

Tang Ling clenched his teeth and pushed the last piece of the container against the wall.

He had finally become the executioner who delivered the cruelest blow. He wanted to cry for some reason, so he turned around to his grandmother and sister, instinctively seeking comfort.

Quark's relaxed voice sounded in his ears, "As a matter of fact, as long as we can hold them off for a minute, these filthy rats won't be able to sneak in."

"Why should I share my hard work with you?" Quark shouted at the crowd outside the door. In despair and fear, some people started to turn around and run. The feast of the zombies had begun.

The people at the front had no choice but to burst out with astonishing strength. The pitiful thin-skinned iron door was shattered and started to fall apart.

"Motherf * cker, run! We've underestimated these rats' desire to live. They always believe in survival bias. No wonder there's no shortage of gamblers in every era. " Quark continued to ramble, but his footsteps were surprisingly fast. He brought Tang Ling to the back of the mysterious door.

When they entered again, Tang Ling was surprised to find that the wooden rack with the old civilization password booklet and many small boxes in the house was gone.

Behind the wooden rack was an open tunnel.

This was Quark's trump card! The three secret tunnels in his shop had already proved that Quark was a cunning person with three burrows.

However, where did he hide the wooden rack in such a short time?

Tang Ling was curious, but he did not have the intention to ask. The pain in his heart had not calmed down yet. He held his grandmother tightly and hugged his sister, seeking the only warmth he had.

What he did not say was that the 'it' in his chest seemed to have woken up after the intense stimulation.

It was scary!

With that thought in mind, Tang Ling picked up a big piece of jerky from the ground and stuffed it into his backpack.

Quark sneered and said, "Do you think you'll have time to eat leisurely after you get out of this place? At the end, it's either life or death! "

"What's the big deal about jerky? Didn't I give up my treasure? Of course, the most important thing is that I've hidden it. It's just a little trick. "

What did that mean? Tang Ling was too lazy to think about it. The iron door should have been destroyed. Heavy and rapid movements came from the entrance, and the things that blocked the door would not last long either.

The house had an iron door, but how long could the door that was pieced together from scrap metal hold up? Quark was not in a hurry to enter the tunnel. He was still setting up something in front of the tunnel.

"Quark, you old dog! Open the door and let me in. With me here, you'll have a higher chance of survival. What can that scrawny kid do? "Someone barged in. It was the black man. His fists were rotten beyond recognition and his bones were exposed.

He was really desperate and crazy.

"Let me in! They're eating people! F * ck, they're eating people! "Another panicked voice sounded.

The habit of leaving a window on the door was terrible. Tang Ling actually did not want to hear or see anymore. Judging from the frantic and chaotic noises outside, the whole Fifth Camp was in complete chaos.

He could imagine the craziness of the thousands of people living here, running back and forth for their lives. Of course, it was accompanied by the zombies' feast.

Quark was no longer panicking. He even had the time to light up something called a cigarette.

"Come in," Quark said to Tang Ling.

Tang Ling was silent. He lowered his head and stepped into the tunnel with his grandmother and sister. Behind him, at least 20 people started to attack the last door of survival in a frenzy.

It would not last long.

However, Tang Ling somehow felt a sense of pathetic numbness.

"Goodbye, goddamn Fifth Camp. Good-bye, you filthy rats. " Quark shouted in an exaggerated manner. He seemed to have lit something up as a sizzling burning noise was heard.
