After twenty days of contemplation, he had consumed nearly one hundred thousand music scores. In exchange, Wang Baole had a total of fifteen thousand superimposed musical notes.
This level of superimposition even changed the shape of the musical notes.
Originally, the musical notes seemed to be floating in Wang Baole's dantian region. Now, however, they were in the form of mist. They were so blurry that at first glance, it was impossible to make out the characteristics of the musical notes.
And yet, they were clearly formed from musical notes.
Even more terrifying was that the superimposed musical notes had left Wang Baole's dantian region and appeared in his mind, as if they didn't exist at all.
However, Wang Baole only had to use his divine will to cause the musical notes to take shape again. That wasn't even the most inconceivable thing to Wang Baole. What was truly inconceivable was that after the mist-like musical notes entered his mind, distortions would appear around Wang Baole that no one could see during the day.
Those distortions seemed to be caused by the compression of different spaces. After some research, Wang Baole came to the conclusion that the distortions were caused by the world of the Law of Auditory Desires. It was as if there was an intersection between him and the world of the Law of Auditory Desires.
In other words, if he wanted to, he could enter the world of the Law of Auditory Desires during the day.
However, he restrained himself from doing so. He didn't attempt to do so rashly. Instead … he performed an experiment. During the day, when he spread out the power of the superimposed musical notes, causing the distortions in his surroundings to intensify, he would appear to exist. However, in reality … he would appear to have vanished from the eyes of others.
Wang Baole tested this out in the steward's room. The steward didn't seem to notice at all. Wang Baole's interest was piqued, and he went to the other two rooms. He was shocked to discover that the Cultivators in the other two rooms hadn't noticed anything either.
The significance of this scene was what shocked Wang Baole the most.
This was because … if he could truly accomplish this in the night, he would be different from other cultivators of the Laws of Hearing. He wouldn't only be able to sense … but could truly walk in!
Previously, Wang Baole had been walking in the dark. In the world of the Dharmic Laws of Hearing, all he had gained was his senses and hearing. Apart from that, he couldn't see anything. It was as if there was always a veil blocking him, causing him to only be able to wander outside.
But now, the strange superposition of the musical notes caused Wang Baole's heart to race after realizing this. He had realized deeply that if he could be like this in the dark, then to a certain extent, he would no longer be a cultivator.
Instead … he was listening to the strange things in the world of laws.
Wang Baole almost couldn't believe it. "Just what kind of musical note is this? Can it really do something like this? I can't believe it. Based on what he knew of the Cultivators of the three great Sects, once they reached a certain level of cultivation, their true bodies would vanish, and they would transform into musical existences.
However, such existences were clearly different from the strange things of the Law of Hearing.
The former became a part of the sound, and could be seen as an effort to fuse with the Law of Hearing. In the end, they were all external forces that had to get used to the Law of Hearing. They had to get closer and closer to it, and then fuse with it until they could be used.
As for the latter … they themselves became the Law of Hearing!
That was because after entering the Harmony Sect, Wang Baole had come to know that the so-called world that could only be sensed by the Dharmic Laws of Auditory Desires was actually … a manifestation of the Dharmic Laws of Auditory Desires. The sects of the three major sects were embedded within the Dharmic Laws of Auditory Desires. And the reason why there was a chance that killing all the strange creatures in that world would allow cultivators to sense the musical notes was because every single one of those strange creatures was a part of the Dharmic Laws of Auditory Desires.
The former was an external force fusing with the Law of Hearing. The latter was a part of the Law of Hearing itself.
By now, Wang Baole had come to realize that, for some unknown reason, as he cultivated, he was on the path of cultivating the Law of Hearing …. Although he could only be considered to be in the early stages, he was clearly far ahead of everyone else.
If he succeeded … then the Law of Hearing would be his. As for the life or death of the Lord of Hearing, it would be up to him to decide.
This discovery left Wang Baole shaken. He looked outside, waiting for night to fall to confirm his conjecture.
There had never been a time when Wang Baole had been so eager for the arrival of night. He felt that the days were passing too slowly. As he waited anxiously, as dusk faded, night finally descended upon the land, drowning out all light. Wang Baole was immediately filled with excitement. He didn't activate the teleportation jade slip. Instead, he activated the musical talisman in his mind as night fell.
He didn't let them make any sound, but rather, he didn't restrain the distorting power they emitted. A moment later, a tremor ran through Wang Baole. His eyes went wide, and he stood there in a daze.
That was because the world in front of him had changed.
The entire world faded. Although the layout of the room hadn't changed, all of the materials in Wang Baole's eyes had become lines.
Between those lines were many gaps, and within those gaps, there seemed to be some sort of barrier. However, it didn't affect his line of sight.
Looking up, Wang Baole was shocked to see that outside the restaurant, the entire city had been transformed into lines. Furthermore, they were magnified, making it seem as if the city itself had reached its limit. Shockingly, above the lines of the city, there were numerous bizarre entities.
Wang Baole saw a figure hundreds of meters tall, carrying a head of long hair as it walked off into the distance.
He also saw a group of creatures that looked like centipedes, but whose backs were covered with human faces. They were crawling about in groups.
In addition, there were numerous specter-like entities that floated about in large numbers. Occasionally, they would float outside of buildings, knocking on windows as if they wanted to break in, but were blocked.
There were too many strange things that appeared before Wang Baole's eyes. It took him a long while before he finally took a deep breath in agitation.
That was because he knew that his conjecture … was correct.
"Now, it's time for the final test." Wang Baole's body flickered as he pushed open the window and flew out. At the same time, one of the specter-like entities outside ignored Wang Baole and tried to enter through the window. However, Wang Baole reached out and grabbed it, then crushed it.
As they were destroyed, the other strange beings in the surroundings turned a blind eye to all of this.
Wang Baole licked his lips, and his eyes began to shine brightly. He flew up into the air, and then looked around. Suddenly, his eyes began to shine.
Off in the distance, he saw a glowing sphere of light moving at high speed. In this world, the glowing sphere of light was extremely eye-catching, and attracted the attention of numerous bizarre entities, which began to scramble toward it.
"A cultivator?" Wang Baole narrowed his eyes as he approached the glowing sphere of light. Some of the bizarre entities couldn't dodge in time, and were crushed to pieces. As he neared, Wang Baole was finally able to see the glowing sphere of light. Inside … was a cultivator.
His clothing was that of the Hengqin Sect.
